Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Bigeared - TK Maxx has Sylvanian stuff.

CarrotVan · 30/09/2018 09:02

@givealittlebit - Felco are very good secateurs. DH has had his for 20 years and they’re still going strong

CrazyTownBananaPants · 30/09/2018 09:20

Ha I emailed amazon to tell them how disappointed I was with not being able to get the offers and they keep phoning me every 5 mins to the number on my account - maybe I laid it on a bit too thick!!!

chillimice · 30/09/2018 09:41

@givealittlebit if you are feeling exceptionally generous, felco #7 are pro secateurs and particularly good if you do a lot of pruning or have slightly arthritic hands

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 30/09/2018 09:44

Thanks @LostMyRubySlippers Smile

WoahBodyforrrrm · 30/09/2018 09:52

So my Christmas Bargain Gurus, will Argos have another 3 for 2 before Xmas?

The bits i’d like are out of stock until mid October 🤦🏼‍♀️

starryeyedsnowgirl · 30/09/2018 10:21

I emailed Amazon last night to about the £5 voucher and randomly got £5 refund back on something I bought on a panic on the 23rd of December last year. Must have been because I mentioned Christmas shopping!

The refund email mentioned nothing about the voucher deal, just said "goodwill gesture". Wonderful as I didn't even have to buy the gift vouchers.

Drummingisfun · 30/09/2018 10:27

I bought some of the m+s plonk when it first went on reduced back in the summer. I got elderflower (very nice in summer as an aperitif with a couple of ice cubes, even better if kept in fridge).
Also got black forest - Nice with dessert and coffee (I've not tried this one neat, i bought it to put in espresso martini).

The most unbargainous this is that the ones they are reducing are 350ml bottles, they were £8 full price. The new bottles they are replacing them with are only 200ml of them same thing but still £8!
I know this because yesterday they had the old big bottle and new tiny one next to each other on the shelf for the creme brulee flavour.

Kraggle does your niece like drawing anime characters? My 12 year old does and she has asked for these Copic markers, they are not cheap but apparently very good Smile. There are lots of different sets.

mamapants · 30/09/2018 10:50

Koin club are doing a harry potter stamp display poster for free +£2.50 postage.
Looks good for HP fans. Just ordered one for DS. There is also a framed display of whole set available through royal mail.

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker · 30/09/2018 11:40

starryeyed thats like one of my vouchers! I got a random email with a £5 refund on a toy I bought months ago and was confused til I seen the £5 for spending 😂

Jammiebammie · 30/09/2018 12:22

For those who like gin advent calendars, I saw on a fb post this morning b&m have a 12 day one for £29.99 - not sure if this is a good price or not though tbh!

stripy29 It was this Lego Caravan

thaegumathteth · 30/09/2018 12:37

@mamapants I think it’s a card rather than a poster unless I’m being stupid?

LokiBear · 30/09/2018 12:46

The Smyths event has made me so happy. Niece, nephew and unborn neice bought for, plus the remaining 'big' presents for my girls. Saved £30 today plus £40 in tesco on clothing yesterday. Kids are almost done, just adults to do now.

mamapants · 30/09/2018 13:03

Yes sorry you are right a card thaegum I'm thinking of framing it if it wasn't too thick. Either way though DS will like it but is too young to appreciate the more expensive ones on the royal mail site, although I quite fancy one for me.

Curious2468 · 30/09/2018 14:15

Is there any online codes for smyths at all? I can’t make it in to a store

CaveMum · 30/09/2018 14:56

Apologies if it’s been flagged up already but HMV are doing 3 Disney DVDs for £16 (selected titles) which make good stocking fillers for kids.

LittleMousewithcloggson · 30/09/2018 15:11

Any idea where I can get trial size/sample size of men’s aftershave?
I picked up a lot of ladies ones from department stores but not so lucky at getting decent men’s ones

George22 · 30/09/2018 15:21

Can anyone recall if Smyth’s do another offer before Christmas? The boxes for the item I wanted looked like they had been crushed by a forklift!!

FireflyGirl · 30/09/2018 15:25

'D'M slipped a Smyths toy catalogue into 3yo DS's bag, which I then unpacked in front of him. His eyes nearly popped out when he saw the Paw Patrol pile of plastic tat Ultimate Rescue Fire Truck, and he has talked non-stop about Santa bringing him it ever since.

RRP is £70, but it's currently down to £50 on Amazon if anyone else's DC has been brainwashed their heart set on it.

ZIGGY911 · 30/09/2018 15:28

This is not Christmas related, but looking for party bag items or an item to give at the end of a party for 11 year old boys. I just can't face giving out tat! thanks

yumyumpoppycat · 30/09/2018 15:29

firefly lol at 'D' - why did she do that. I tried to hide my catalogue as we don't have convenient smyths but dd found it.

imsorryiasked · 30/09/2018 15:34

@ziggy911 what's your budget and how many?
