Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Won't he overheat and kill his laptop like that?

PasswordRejection · 25/09/2018 11:43

People asking about prices going up at Argos - they got a lot of bad publicity for pushing prices up on the day of the 3 for 2 (I think maybe the one before last?) and said that it was just a coincidence (Hmm) but that they would be clearer about pricing in future. I noticed some prices on toys went up a week or so ago so I reckon if you put stuff in your basket the day before it starts you'll be ok this time.

Hogwarts great hall down to £75 on Amazon. About £6 cheaper than its previous lowest price. RRP is £90 I think

margaritasbythesea · 25/09/2018 11:45

Maybe GummyGoddess - hence the table - desk thingy I want.

Lego Hogwarts Great Hall 74.99

Wait4nothing · 25/09/2018 11:45

Thanks - got 2x bookmarks and the palette.
Melissa and doug Ice cream set for £13.77

Wait4nothing · 25/09/2018 11:48

We got these laptop trays from Costco a few years ago.
Think Ikea do something similar

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this website, I like their dinosaurs but they always have bargains in their sale

stillhereafteralltheseyears · 25/09/2018 12:13

Don't think I did that right did I? cheap knitted toys
Does that work now?

Jammiebammie · 25/09/2018 12:15

Harry Potter Lego reduced a bit on amazon, Great hall £74.99 here and hogwarts express £63.99 here

Also if anyone sees any stranger things bargains, I would be ever so grateful Smile

stillhereafteralltheseyears · 25/09/2018 12:17

And Oliver Bonas just sent me an email about 25% off 25% off Oliver Bonas

Jammiebammie · 25/09/2018 12:18

For Lego bargains etc on amazon I just add everything I want to look out for into my basket and then check the basket daily, you click on “important messages for your basket” at the top and it tells you if any prices have decreased, or increased.
Camelcamelcamel is great too.

Well went to Smyths this morning after dropping kids off at school.
Got loads for £140.
The shop was busy at 9:10am!

Selling really quick was anything LOL. Dino fingerlings, toilet trouble game, playmobil stuff, HP Lego.

Alanamackree · 25/09/2018 12:32

Very happy with my Smyths haul this morning. Got everything on my list. Just be careful to keep track of the total. I was sort of expecting the cashier to say something like “if you spend €2 more” and I’d have thrown in a lego blind bag. But i think the system calculates the discount as it goes along so they don’t see pre-discount total and I was too intimidated by the grumpy cashier, the growing queue and my lacklustre mental maths skills to ask. Could have done a wee bit bette but hey ho!

Dolceandgabbana14 · 25/09/2018 12:46

Whistlefish delivery came this morning and the notelet tins are beautiful - great quality cards, as are the floral tins on sale for £1.50 each. Photographed with Echodot for sale! Xmas10 gives you 10% off and delivery free over £20 (I think!).

Any ideas what to fill the tins with for teacher presents - was thinking sweets but that might be costly given that the tins are so big Shock

Dolceandgabbana14 · 25/09/2018 12:46

Forgot the photo Grin

Thanks coconut, that palette was just what I was looking for for DD. Definitely worth a punt at that price

CaveMum · 25/09/2018 13:00

Feel Unique (online make up and fragrance seller) have a flash sale on right now only valid till 2pm today. 20% off everything if you use the code FLASH20.

Might be useful to pick up bits and bobs for any teenagers that want make up, etc.

CaveMum · 25/09/2018 13:12

Sorry, should ave said the code is not valid on Sale items.

SimplyPut · 25/09/2018 13:18

Really pleased with Smyths this morning. Barbie - small house, remote control car, plane, pilot and flight attendant, 3x sets of clothes, Chelsea club house and Chelsea mini golf for £200.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 25/09/2018 13:41

Glad the paint palette tip was useful to some!

I've just had a notification that my Amazon order of the 20 sheets of di-cut emoji stickers was cancelled - anyone else?

Drummingisfun · 25/09/2018 13:47

coldilox If you don't mind a second jamd frog bike there is a Facebook resale group. Lots come up on there in excellent condition. They come up on gumtree a fair bit too. We bought both our kids bikes from there, and they were xmas gifts. They do also hold their value well so if you do buy new you'll be able to sell on for a decent price via the resale groups.

Drummingisfun · 25/09/2018 13:47

Second HAND!

Drummingisfun · 25/09/2018 13:50

Can anyone advise on a good birthday party gift for a 5yo old girl? I've never met her or mum but invite has come home in my boy's bookbag to a whole class party. I was thinking around a fiver?

PlayingForKittens · 25/09/2018 13:53

Drumming you can't go wrong with craft and colouring stuff. Notebook, crayons, stickers, maybe some fun stamps. Job done. When mine had lots of parties at that age I'd buy multipacks of stuff and split them so I always had a couple of craft bags as presents stashed away.
