LOL doll house

My dd5 is obsessed with LOL dolls. I can't stand them, but he has played with them daily for nearly 2 years. We've recently banned YouTube because I don't want her being advertised to any more particularly in the run up to Christmas with the ridiculous LOL releases.

However last night however I was looking at the LOL house on Smyths and placed a pre-order on a whim. I figure I can cancel it if I change my mind, but when they sell out I can't. It would actually be a practical present, given she spreads her LOL dolls all over the house, it would give them a place in her room and keep them away from her toddler sister. She's never had a main Christmas present before just lots of stuff. If I got this it would take up all the room on Santa's sleigh so not really anything else.

If I didn't get this she'd be getting more Playmobil to break up and lose bits to and smaller LOL sets anyway.

I'm basically just posting this to try and justify this ridiculous expense to myself, has anyone else ordered it? Blush

I saw a picture of the contents of the new Bigger LoL surprise and it looks crap so that swayed me. At least this is made out of wood and not wrapped in 50m of plastic wrap?

Just got my preorder, need to collect in the next 2 days so glad I’m not away! Glad the main bit of Xmas is done and dusted, don’t fancy hunting for one of these in December!

28th August, picking up from the Smyths in Cheltenham (don’t know if that makes a difference!?) will be happy once it’s collected!

Phew, all collected. Happy that is done and dusted, the guy in the shop said they flew out and are definitely going to be hard to get hold of this Xmas!

Haven’t managed to preorder anywhere. Can’t believe it’s 11 weeks till Christmas and I’m already panicking - DD will not be happy unless she gets the house.
Honestly, I have no backbone against a 5 yo - I’m hopeless

In the roof box in the garage... only problem with THAT is that we are off to haven in a week for half term... gonna have to just squidge into the car!

Sorry to get back to this late! The varnish hasn't lifted off the stickers.

I did one coat of ronseal exterior satin varnish. I put it on very thinly. It has given a slight yellow tint to the base but it's only noticeable because I know if you see what I mean? My daughter hasn't noticed at all. Glad I did it, there is lots of splashing when the dolls are using the pools! I do get my daughter to wipe up after using it as well to get rid of the big puddles.

Hi, just joined mumsnet and saw your posts on the LOL house, my 8 year old is obsessed with them and I stupidly didn’t realise the house would sell out so quickly! If anyone has bought one and changed their minds, I’d happily buy it from you. Only place I can find them is on eBay at a really inflated price, if I was rich I’d buy it but I can’t justify paying around a £100 more than the retail price!!! Help anyone, or if you know anywhere I can buy one I’d be eternally grateful x

@Jojojo3 have you tried singing up to stockinformer? I believe you can set it so you get an alert when they become available, either to pre-order or actually in stock.

I do remember seeing somewhere that shops have them, and the LOL Bigger Surprise physically in the store but still show as 0 online.

Hi Bumbumtaloo, yes I’ve just signed up to that, been checking Smyths and Argos about a squillion times a day, no luck🙁 it’s her birthday end Nov too so keeping everything crossed I get lucky for her birthday or Christmas but I’m not holding out, I’ve even told her not to expect it as don’t want her disappointed on Christmas morning! Might have to be a diy project! Thanks tho x

Smyths had them back up for pre order a couple of days ago but it's now saying next pre order will be begining to middle of November only thing I can suggest is checking daily from start of November

No, problem. It’s a nightmare because when it does become available it’s gone again so quickly. I did see someone on my local selling sites selling one, they wanted £280 for it and people were arguing over it! Like I said if your passing a shop pop in because they do seem to have them. Hope you get one!

A few Argos stores have them in, if you search your store and then click ‘not in stock near me, tell me where’ it will list where they have them.
Right now there’s one in Keighley Sainsbury’s (cavendish street)

Just buy it they are only young once plus it will be sold out soon.

I didn't buy the gold LOL surprise ball one Christmas because it was so expensive but I felt a bit bad about it. So when I saw it randomly in Tesco a bit later I bought it for my DD birthday instead and she was over the moon.

Lol house back for pre order at Smythes toy shop, have pre ordered just hope it arrives before Christmas!!! Says orders fulfilled throughout November and December.

I pre ordered ours on the 12th of Sept and haven't heard anything yet . I'm actually pretty annoyed that they re opened the pre orders on smyths toys when they haven't fulfilled the orders they had

I emailed Smyths and they just said item is due in stock anytime form now until dec 15th 🙈 pre orders already taken will be in first come first served basis which makes me think they may have taken too many ore-orders.

I bet they have to sell so many pre-orders before the product is shipped, maybe they get a set price depending on how many they order in one shipment. Also having it seem hard to get will massively increase hype.
