Just spent 27quid at the book people and got ALL THE BOOKS. Came to £32.some pence, but I found code AFVC20 online which said it was for 20% off first orders plus free shipping, when I stuck it in on the website it said it was for discount on "handpicked favourites" but whatever it is it came down to £27.08

Thanks for the magazine subscription bargains, got 3 issues of Good Housekeeping and Prima for £4 with £4.20 cashback!

We have the giant penguin - exactly the same but from Wilkos a couple of years ago. DS is penguin obsessed but cannot handle the size of the big guy so he is banished to the floor. I thought he'd be a winner but nope.

I'm on the hunt for a really good book about space for an 11yo. Preferably something very illustrative and interactive. Pop up bits, sound effects, lights. The ones I've been looking at this morning seem to be geared towards younger readers.

This is the closest I can find so far and seems to be

50% off WWE toys at entertainer. My nephews sorted

Enidblyton1 · 28/08/2018 13:28

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but does anyone think Harry Potter lego will be discounted anywhere before Christmas? My DD really wants the £89 Great Hall set. I see it’s £85 on Amazon, but hoping it might become cheaper elsewhere?

mamapants · 28/08/2018 13:31

My magpie order just arrived (at least most if it, assuming there must be another box on the way)
The stuff is great am a bit sad to be giving most of it away, and want to keep it all. Tea towel, side plates and a notebook for me and the rest are gifts.
Never come across the shop before and really pleased with them.

Duckyneedsaclean · 28/08/2018 14:11

Any recommendations for fancy coffee? I've got some espresso cups off Magpie for the in laws and thought some push code to go with it would be nice. They drink an awful lot of espresso.

Duckyneedsaclean · 28/08/2018 14:13

Oh also, SAVE5 for £5 off orders over £30 on The Book People!

Duckyneedsaclean · 28/08/2018 14:13

Push code = posh coffee Hmm

ScarlettDarling · 28/08/2018 14:14

Amazing bargain on The book people website, the first three Harry Potter books in audiobook format for only £22! We bought them ages ago and they have kept us enthralled throughout many a long car journey... but we paid a lot more than £22 for them! Buying a set for my nephew, well worth it for any HP fans.

Amazonmulu · 28/08/2018 14:29

Any bargains for a 2.5yo girl? X

starryeyedsnowgirl · 28/08/2018 14:40

Ha- thanks @BadgerFace the giant revenge penguin is indeed back in stock at Asda. I've had second thoughts though- don't want to start a thing where we end up giving each other huge stuffed animals every year.

Would make a lovely gift though...

KtDee · 28/08/2018 15:04

Thanks for the extra Book People code @Duckyneedsaclean - got some good bargains in the Flash Sale Smile

SideOrderofSprouts · 28/08/2018 15:04

WHERE IS THAT PENGUIN FROM???

Alanamackree · 28/08/2018 15:08

revenge penguin

SockEatingMonster · 28/08/2018 15:15

@allthingsred DD got a hoverboard in January this year and, up until a couple of weeks ago, I would have recommended both it and the company we purchased it from very highly. However, after a 10 day holiday we returned home to find the battery would no longer hold any charge. We specifically sought out a specialist UK company with great trust pilot reviews and a 12 month warranty including battery when we bought it, as we knew there could be issues, yet still we are having problems getting them to take responsibility.

I won’t name and shame (yet!) but so far they have told us that the unit needs to be charged for at least 15 mins every week or, if it is to be left for over 2 weeks, the battery is to be disconnected inside the board (presumably by taking it apart with a screwdriver?!)

In summary; great fun, but be prepared for a potentially short lifespan.

WTFdidwedo · 28/08/2018 15:20

I'll be after some toddler Doc Martens at some point before Christmas, preferably red/black.

Dolceandgabbana14 · 28/08/2018 15:46

Duckyneedsaclean · 28/08/2018 16:02

@Dolceandgabbana14 my tkmaxx is always full of sylvanian families! Might have some on the website?

SockEatingMonster · 28/08/2018 16:08

I was just browsing Amazon when I stumbled on this little wooden pirate island playset in a case for £7.65. I don’t believe the RRP for one second, but Legler are a good make so it still seems a good price.

OhHolyFuck · 28/08/2018 16:13

1litre bottle of southern comfort down to only £15

Singingitoverandoverandover · 28/08/2018 17:03

ducky how do you get an extra 50% off isn’t there a code? Trying to get a baby dressing gown and wonderingnif it will work nothing coming off basket, thanks

YourHandInMyHand · 28/08/2018 17:11

Thanks for the magazine subscriptions. I love the xmas issues of magazines and I'll be big and fat (pregnant) by December so sitting around is my main plan for the festive season. Smile

I did it in two goes via topcashback first for good housekeeping and then for prima. Wonder if I will get the cashback twice or not ha ha.

People who often do the magazine subscription offers, when would you advise me to cancel the direct debit? As soon as the first payment has come out??
