With Asda can you do the same as the clothes and select your click and collect date? Assuming you have a shop nearby.

We went away and I selected the latest collection date but then they hold it in store for 10 days.

Youvegotafriendinme · 28/08/2018 07:32

lifelongfrugaleer yes you can. I’ve done it with toys/printer ink/nappy bin refills so you definitely can

Wormwoodm · 28/08/2018 07:42

John Lewis have some good bits in the sale. I just bought starlily magical unicorn for £49.99 down from £120 for my unicorn obsessed girls.

Monkeymonstermum · 28/08/2018 07:45

Hamleys have 20% off playmobil at the mo and even wufh their delivery charge (searched but couldn’t find a code to work that took it off) with a few items still made it better value than amazon).

BadgerFace · 28/08/2018 08:06

Tildero I bought DD2 the Little Tikes Magic Garden for her first birthday. If you track it on Amazon there can be some good deals, I got it for around £50 which is expensive but about half price in November. She still plays with it all the time at 2.75 and her big sister loves it too.

Or a cheaper and more space economical option is Magnatiles. Great longevity and one of our most played with toys on play dates and with older cousins. Used from age 1 - 14 so far (and by many adults!). They come up on deals too so worth watching the price.

BadgerFace · 28/08/2018 08:08

starry get on the Asda site this morning, Revenge Penguin seems to be back in stock... [please could everyone buy them quickly so they go out of stock again before I have time to work out whether I could in fact find a delivery day around our holiday/school starting...]

Place Marking

These rechargable moon lamps are on Groupon for 9.95 for a 10cm moon, 14.95 for a 14 cm moon and I think 29.95 for a 18cm moon. Got my DC a 10cm one each for Christmas, they are space mad. Will make a lovely nightlight might order a large one for myself

@KavvLar Thank you! That makes sense, I probably didn't go far enough into the transaction to change the delivery options!

Betsy86 · 28/08/2018 08:25

Do not need a giant lovely snuggly penguin... do not need a giant......

Thanks for reminding me about the ghk magazine i totally didn’t cancel subscription from last year and my mums been gleefully enjoying her copies ever since. May have to cut it off now though before another batch is paid for its been nearly a year lol x

Alanamackree · 28/08/2018 08:27

Thanks for the poundtoy site @Singingitoverandoverandover I found some nice bits like this wine bottle light for college students, and these rattle magnets great for anyone who likes fidget toys

EXTRA50 gives 50% off the items in clearance but you can only use one code in your basket. These Star Wars blindbags come down to 50p

Singingitoverandoverandover · 28/08/2018 08:45

Your welcome alana i thoughtbit was quite good if you oook through for a while.

Create your own denim accessories and design them down to £3.49 argos! Great stocking filler. Was £12.99

HoneyDragon · 28/08/2018 08:46

Kavlarr Coincidentially was chatting about some of the changes they’d made with customer service last week, when they were sorting a glitch on my account for me. Apparently it’s deliberate to ensure people look at the lead times of free delivery if they select it due to lots of complaints of if people has know free delivery was 3-4 weeks they’d have paid delivery.

HoneyDragon · 28/08/2018 08:46

Has anyone bought a cheap fitness tracker from the selection on Groupon?
Thinking of getting them for twin niece and nephew.

pintsizeprincess · 28/08/2018 10:22

Apologies if already been mentioned but the book people have a flash sale on just now. Up to 86% off. I've just bought a couple of book sets to put away.

Trumpton · 28/08/2018 10:35

TheImpossibleGirl
I did but got my money refunded as it was clunky and impossible to read in daylight !
It was this one . ( they let me keep it )

Poundtoy mentioned above has some actual real toys at bargain prices - Quite a bit of thomas trackmaster etc.

www.poundtoy.com

Holiday10 takes 10% off everything in the sale section.

ShortbreadCannotBeLonger · 28/08/2018 11:09

Thanks for the Argos Clearance tip.

Picked up the denim craft set for £3.49 and a mini nerf-gun for £2.99.

Annoyingly, Argos appear to have done away with the 'search by store' clearance option. Now you have to go through the general clearance page and become disappointed when you see the item you want is out of stock and your local Argos store!

mamapants · 28/08/2018 11:30

Thanks for all the tips.
Have ordered some stocking fillers from toys for a pound.
The comic usborne book.
Waiting on delivery from magpie.
So feel I've made a good start.
My DS is suddenly harry potter obsessed any recommendations of reasonably priced stuff, but not eBay from China stuff please.

Lacypants · 28/08/2018 11:36

I'm now filling my basket at the book people flash sale. I don't suppose any codes work on flash sale do they…

ShortbreadCannotBeLonger · 28/08/2018 11:43

Disappointed I didn't get the Comic book now - seems to have shot back up in price (plus almost £3 for P+P).

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 28/08/2018 11:58

Walking home from playgroup this morning and saw a huge Playmobil Roman box flattened in someone's recycling. Mnetter Alert! Grin
