@TamiTayorismyparentingguru, I love George at Asda for cushions. There is a children's bedroom page too but as they're a little older there are some really funky options in the grownups' section right now that might work well: Cushions of Joy

CoffeeAndEnnui · 08/09/2018 18:44

(The sequinned initial cushions and some of the weird and wonderful animal ones would be my recommendations)

CoffeeAndEnnui · 08/09/2018 18:52

And maybe this for your son.

Singingitoverandoverandover · 08/09/2018 18:59

@louise5754 amazon bargains tend to increase in price quick, you have to be fast. If you go on camel camel camel uk website and type in the product you want from amazon it has all the info of price drops etc and you can set and alert there x

Isadora2007 · 08/09/2018 19:07

TamiT the studio catalogue has minecraft cushion for £7.99 or if the boys are younger there are paw patrol or PJ mask ones for £9.99 each.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 08/09/2018 19:08

Thank you sleepismysuperpower I’ve just got 2 pairs of leggings, a set of pjs, a pair of men’s pj bottoms, a dressing gown and a onesie for £26 and free delivery too! Website is Character.com and there’s lots left in the sale.

imsorryiasked · 08/09/2018 19:21

Thanks @Bryan there's some good stuff on there including a blue kidizoom smart watch that someone was trying to find ages ago, maybe on the prequel thread?!

imsorryiasked · 08/09/2018 19:30

Singingitoverandoverandover · 08/09/2018 20:07

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 08/09/2018 20:09

Brilliant! Thank you! I like the look of some of those Asda ones. Our local store has a pretty small home department so would never have thought to look in there - will have a good browse in the online store

starryeyedsnowgirl · 08/09/2018 20:16

@TamiTayorismyparentingguru primark had various cushions reduced from£7 to £3. I almost bought a purple sequins one which changed from purple sequins to silver when you stroked it. It wouldn't go anywhere in this house but DD2 and I couldn't stop stroking them. It was very soothing.

WoahBodyforrrrm · 08/09/2018 20:36

I popped to Poundland in another nearby town today and they had various 2 packs of shopkins in for £1!

Someaddedsugar · 08/09/2018 20:54

Matalan have loads of stocking filler type gifts in at the moment -a lot of alphabet bits and pieces and unicorn themed bits too.

They also had some bigger toys such as work stations and kitchens but I didn’t catch the prices.

louise5754 · 08/09/2018 20:57

Ah thank you @Singingitoverandoverandover xx

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 08/09/2018 21:27

tami I second Primark they have some lovely ones. I bought 2 harry potter ones for £6 each - one with honeydukes and the other in the shape of harrys face. Dds have had Hedwig and pusheen ones from there too. They also have the house ones from Harry potter and often different Disney ones. The £6 is usual price not a reduction :)

Rockhopper81 · 08/09/2018 21:30

Went to The Book People site to look at the Mr Men books....spent £35...

In my defence, I bought the Mr Men books, and almost all of my other Christmas books, as well as a couple for my collection for that! I’m justifying it to myself...

I just need a book each for my nephews who will be 13 and 14 at Christmas - any suggestions most welcome! Neither are particularly avid readers, which makes it trickier - I was spoilt for choice when it came to my 6 year old niece who devours anything in sight!

tami I got a nice donut cushion on ebay for £6 .....came from China but came pretty quickly
also got a really nice unicorn cushion for just over £7 in a flash sale on Claire's

OhHolyFuck · 08/09/2018 21:35

@Rockhopper81 what about the gamers guiness world records I linked too earlier?

LostMyRubySlippers · 08/09/2018 21:39

Apologies if already mentioned but they have a talking ubercorn toy on home bargains website for £4.99 if there are any go jetters fans. It’s over £10 on Amazon & rrp is £25

NotPennysBoat · 08/09/2018 21:39

Apologies, I'm pasting from another post where I've not had much response... hoping you shopping savvy lot can help!

My DD has asked for a 'music player' for her bedroom for her upcoming birthday.

My music is always played from my iPhone onto various Sonos speakers in the house. I don't want her to be monopolising my phone, nor having a phone of her own at 6!

Can anyone recommend a robust and simple to use music player and speakers that won't break the bank? Would prefer to be able to download music over WiFi (we have a Spotify subscription) rather than plugging into my laptop. Preference for speakers that plug in and not need endless batteries/recharging.

Budget of about £60 for both but could spend a bit more if it might last until preteen years! Thanks in advance it was radio cassettes or nothing in my day!

ScarlettDarling · 08/09/2018 21:56

NotPennysBoat Have you thought about getting your DD an Amazon echo dot? They're voice controlled so super easy to use and can connect to Spotify. They're about £50 but around Black Friday they'll go down to £35.

Trialsmum · 08/09/2018 21:56

@NotPennysBoat would an Amazon Echo not do the job? The Dot is on offer for about £34.99.

LexieLulu · 08/09/2018 21:56

@NotPennysBoat my kids love our Alexa, cost about £35.

It's hooked to my Spotify, and my son will go up and say "Alexa play ed Sheehan" etc

LexieLulu · 08/09/2018 21:57

😂 I swear the two below comments were not there when I wrote about the dot! Sorry to repeat

Trialsmum · 08/09/2018 21:57

Oh wait... it’s not on offer anymore... I’m sure it will be on before Christmas again.
