We've used those Kalas for years, my mum made me get them saying they'd be super useful and I was like Hmm but she was right. Used every birthday, bbq, picnic, kids buffet. Still going strong 5 years later.

Thanks for the character.com recommendation. I was able to get a whole load of bits from the clearance section!

For those not wanting to spend £££ on alcohol advent calendars, I successfully made my own last year and planning on doing it again this year.

Got 4 wine boxes and the dividers from majestic (free) and then cut the flaps off and glued the boxes in to a square so with the dividers I had 24 holes. I wrapped all of the outside sides in posh paper and then cut a peoce of cardboard to fit the top and cut out the little doors to fit each hole and numbered them. I wish I’d taken a photo but it looked really good!

Hedgyhoggy · 08/09/2018 13:29

For a little bit more rough and ready alcohol advent calendar, I bought a box of £24 Budweiser bottles for £12 (I think 🤔) last year and marked the box into a grid of 24 squares. Anything more sophisticated would be wasted on my other half 😆

PhannyMcNee · 08/09/2018 14:17

We made a beer advent calender for dh a few years ago using Pringle tubes. It did mean we had to eat 25 tubes of Pringles though...

torthecatlady · 08/09/2018 15:18

£315 on a candle? I was in two minds about a £3.99 one in Aldi earlier and decided it was a bit too much GrinBlushHmm

OhHolyFuck · 08/09/2018 15:32

Guiness World records - gamers edition is a fiver on Amazon

CoffeeAndEnnui · 08/09/2018 15:38

Liberty do stock some eyewateringly priced 'luxuries' but they also have some incredibly good offers in their sale so it is worth a bookmark.

The much mocked/coveted Grimms toys often go down to half price at Liberty, whereas a few pounds discount would be considered (comparatively) bargainous anywhere else.

And the store itself is like a shot to the heart of Christmas spirit when their decorations go up. Well worth nipping in for a bauble and a swoon if Oxford Circus is accessible.

TheHammaconda · 08/09/2018 16:47

CoffeeAndEnnui is right - the Liberty sale is great. The biggest bargain has to be these trousers down to £50 from £585.
That's 91.5% off!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/09/2018 17:03

I wouldn't pay £50.00 for those! 😂

BoBro · 08/09/2018 17:22

Or even £5 for them 🙈😆

MrsLem · 08/09/2018 17:26

Aldi will have a 90 piece art set on sale on Sunday 16th for anyone that's buying art presents...includes acrylics, oil pastels, markers and pencils for £14.99 in a wee case, looks quite nice

thaegumathteth · 08/09/2018 17:37

Tinc have a summer clearance and free delivery over £10. I just got a load of party bag stuff and stocking fillers.

louise5754 · 08/09/2018 17:45

@Singingitoverandoverandover thanks for the MC2 link. It's gone back up to £30 now. Do they reduce it often? I have an Amazon shopping list. How do you enable notifications on the price drop? Xx

margaritasbythesea · 08/09/2018 17:45

I have just put in another WH Smith order for photo albums and was able to use the SCHOOL20 code for a fiver off a twenty pound spend. The albums are BOGOF. I added the sticky squares for putting the photos in for 1.99 also on BOGOF to go over 20 pounds.

I used it on albums (and may have slipped in the Elmer´s Glue starter set for DD)

You can select free delivery over twenty pounds too. 3% cashback at quidco.

margaritasbythesea · 08/09/2018 17:46

sorry what I meant to say the cde seems to work on a lot of stuff apart from school stuff (which it is meant for)

Jammiebammie · 08/09/2018 17:56

Thanks margaritas, I used the WHSmith code on an elmers slime kit and a klutz bake shop kit (which was reduced anyway) so got both for £21!

Bryna · 08/09/2018 18:15

Some good bargains and stocking fillers here www.kerrisontoys.co.uk/clearance-bargains-c-1140.html

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 08/09/2018 18:32

Anyone seen any bargain cushions? I have a cushion I found in the Debenhams summer sale for DD1 and now thinking I might like to get cushions for the other DC for Christmas too - they all love a cushion!

Requirements:

  • Max £10 - preferably closer to £5/£8.
  • average cushion size - not tiny but not big either - they will sit on their beds.
  • 2x cushions for 8yr old girls. Preferably 2 different designs.
  • 1x cushion for 14yr old boy.

Any ideas?
