Sainsbury's are giving away packs of Lego cards again. One pack free when you spend £10.

I don't go to Sainsbury's very often but I'm going to save these up and pop them in ds's stocking.

@wornoutboots thank you! I am going to order for DD and maybe my nieces too

donkeysandzebras · 30/08/2018 19:00

tea my DD is also heavily into gymnastics. Most of her leotards come from Decathlon & they seem good. The gym instructor buys them for her DD too.
For Xmas or birthday DD is having a folding beam and a Ikea gym mat. The latter is more for my peace of mind than something DD wants but it should mean I'm a bit relaxed about her practising on our wooden floors.

anotherangel2 · 30/08/2018 19:16

whereisthatpenguinfrom thanks I might try the first box one as a present for DH. I really don’t need any chocolate that needs eating quickly. (It is so easy to expand in summer dresses)

Smellybears · 30/08/2018 19:25

Is there a general bargains topic on here at all? Like ‘quick grab it while you can’ on mse? I only ask as the other day I posted on here about garden toy bargains which didn’t really fit as this is a Christmas bargain thread.

Polkapjs · 30/08/2018 19:33

TODAY25 for an extra 25% off the Works today- I got 6 for £10 paperbacks and some painting bits and bobs

Numberonecook · 30/08/2018 19:35

All those asking about smiggle advent calendars, I wasn’t very impressed last year. I felt robbed Hmm not worth the the money at all and DD stopped getting excited by the 7th/8th as the contents weren’t getting any better lol. I never buy expensive calendars and I’m reluctant to splash out again.

Playmobil calendar last year for girls however was fab! DD2 still playing with now :)

Betsy86 · 30/08/2018 20:03

Some good reductions in sainsburys today.
Playdoh crazy cuts £5.70 was £19.
Kinetic sand icecream set £3 was £10.
Logo who am i game £7.50 was£15
Pj masks puzzle £2 was £5

Alanamackree · 30/08/2018 20:21

can anyone recommend a power bank? Preferably suitable for an android phone and isn’t too heavy/bulky but can charge quickly and possibly more than one device? I’m a bit overwhelmed looking at options so a personal recommendation would be great. And bargainous would be good too Wink although I can wait patiently for Black Friday.

nomfup44 · 30/08/2018 20:23

@Smellybears I bought the chuckle ball for DS for his first birthday he's 17months now and it gets played with occasionally but the novelty wears off quickly. The two halves get dislodged easily which stops it working so I'd say only worth getting if it's a real bargain!
I stocked up on bargain M&S Christmas alcohol in their clearance today and bought good food Christmas mag too so starting to feel prepared!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2018 20:33

@Alanamackree, I have an awesome Belkin one. It charges two at once and holds 4 full charges. No idea which it is, however, as DH got it for me!

whereareyousleep · 30/08/2018 20:56

Anybody who are doing DIY hampers where are you getting the baskets they seem expensive everywhere I look?

LilMadAgain · 30/08/2018 21:09

I've noticed a few people mentioned putting together their own advent calendars and after spending £80 on absolute shite last year I've decided the same. I found the perfect reusable 'calendar' in the works and I'll be painting it yellow and putting milk bottle lids on top to make a 'Lego' type effect. If you have more than one kid they're two for 28 or 15 each and if you live near a store they'll give you 15% off when you spend 10. Hope this works:

Personwithnoname · 30/08/2018 21:17

These were quite popular last couple of years for hard to buy for men grid it
I got a similar and cheaper version from Ali Express which went down well with travelling gadget DP.
Thought it was worth a mention again.
Also, what was that plastic glue stuff that fixed everything called again?

Personwithnoname · 30/08/2018 21:24

Here is the Ali Express version cheap grid it

My partner is real btw and not a gadget. Just read that back and it sounds like I may live with a robot!

hmslfc · 30/08/2018 21:25

@personwithnoname - Sugru! Amazing stuff...... I fixed a bookcase, a plate, my car mirror and yet a bloody nother pair of Jojo wellies that split!

ADuckNamedSplash · 30/08/2018 21:30

Also, my local m&s have been reducing all the older (but still good) bottles of flavoured alcohol to half price. So I have minced pie martini for £8 and other bottles I normally end up paying £12-18 pounds for.

Didn't know that minced pie martini was a thing, but it sounds perfect for my DH - thank you!

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 30/08/2018 21:41

Sugru? @Personwithnoname

Personwithnoname · 30/08/2018 21:51

Sugru! Of course. Thanks

HoneyDragon · 30/08/2018 21:53

Now for Xmas I want...
A Revenge Penguin
A Festive Gnome
and
A travelling gadget Dp™️ ( they sound useful)

Alanamackree · 30/08/2018 21:53

@NoWordForFluffy thanks for the recommendation.

@Personwithnoname I now have the theme tune of Inspector Gadget stuck in my head Grin

HoneyDragon · 30/08/2018 21:56

LilMad

I reuse my M&S one each year for dd (I always get one for my birthday). I generally stock up on blindbags when I see good ones on offer or on Poundland.

BadgerFace · 30/08/2018 22:03

Seriously people, PLEASE buy up all the Revenge Penguins before I get back from our mini-break on Monday. I measured the gap at the end of DD1’s bed today so I could buy her a much wanted (and cheap) tee pee. The tee pee is too big unless I turn her bed the other way into the room. The Revenge Penguin will definitely fit in. As long as the 5ft wide Easter bunny squishes up.

Spam88 · 30/08/2018 22:24

If people aren't set on a teepee in particular, you can get princess-style pop up tents on amazon for about £12.

Spam88 · 30/08/2018 22:26

There are lots of different ones on there of you just search 'play tent' but this is the style I mean. They're quite big though.
