Thanks for the magpie link, missed the BIG20 code though, what an idiot! Ah well, still v v bargainous!

1stTimeMama · 07/08/2018 09:00

Oh my goodness @CoffeeandEnnui!

I just had a wander over to Magpie and there's some bits on there I've been hankering after in a local gift shop, priced more than the RRP on that website!

My bank account is very grateful!

JurassicGirl · 07/08/2018 09:05

LilMadAgain yes it is the 2017 one but he's never had a hot wheels one so won't know or care lol.

I'm really pleased this year as all 3 dc have asked for calendars they've never had so it won't matter what year they're from 😊

Off to look at the magpie link now!!

toolazytothinkofausername · 07/08/2018 09:06

www.boots.com/offers/bootsclearance

Link to the Boots clearance section, although I am not convinced there are any real bargains to be had.

Fluffybat · 07/08/2018 09:17

Oh wow. My first year on mumsnet. Defo place marking here! My second ds is due in November so looking for bargains!

Alanamackree · 07/08/2018 09:24

Raindancer wicked uncle is a great site for suggestions by age and interest. Not particularly bargainous so I use it mostly for inspiration and then shop around.

walkingintherain23 · 07/08/2018 09:28

Thanks for the magpie link. Never heard of them before but just bought some lovely gifts!

GruffaloStick · 07/08/2018 09:40

Another thanking you for the magpie link coffee, some absolute bargains. I had to stop myself buying too many things 'just because' but I've got a big haul for just over £20 some gifts for me too Grin

RJnomore1 · 07/08/2018 10:03

I can see a few things in boots!

Thegirlhasnoname · 07/08/2018 10:24

The Waterstones summer sale still has a bunch of stuff on there which could be good for gifts www.waterstones.com/campaign/stationery-and-gifts-summer-sale-2018

Coldilox · 07/08/2018 10:38

I bought some bamboo plates from the magpie website last year, fabulous quality

Stompythedinosaur · 07/08/2018 11:14

Thanks for the Waterstone tip, I have stocked up a few things for my present drawer!

8dayweek · 07/08/2018 11:57

On the crafty theme - last year I done a few pre-Xmas craft gifts for my friend's kids using die cut wooden shapes from eBay and glitter / paint / ribbon etc from Poundland and scraps bin at a local haberdashery. I also got them bauble shaped decorations with their names in Disney font too (also eBay)

Stuff like this... (NB: I haven't shopped for the cheapest, so it's likely there's a better deal to be had)

Oh and I don't have kids so my friends might have actually just cursed me for the mess and hassle! Grin

8dayweek · 07/08/2018 11:58

Also, another thanks for the suggestion of Magpie! Got some stocking fillers ordered!

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/08/2018 12:19

This thread makes me so excited!! 🎄
Thought I'd throw a little one in myself: I was looking at getting my little girl a baby doll for Christmas (she'll be 18 months) and I found a lovely My First Baby Annabelle for £10 in Home Bargins. Checked online and it appears to be around £15 in most other places - not a massive saving but every penny counts!
I'm definitely following this from now on. 🎅🏻

aurorie11 · 07/08/2018 12:25

Suspect it’s only in store but Sainsbury’s had reductions on board games. Got game on life for £7.50 reduced from £25 about £15 on Amazon

MrsCrimbo74 · 07/08/2018 12:30

After seeing this on another thread I had to share.
A sprout snow globe was £17.00 now £6.50 on ASOS

I love these threads.

CarrotVan · 07/08/2018 12:35

Has anyone seen any massive bargains on non-slogan boys t-shirts?

QuietNinjaTardis · 07/08/2018 12:40

Hi everyone, I’m hopping on just to say I bought my first Xmas pressie in the January sales this year (Happyland Xmas train set for £10 reduced from £50)
Asda online have a sale on and some bits are a further 40% off once in your basket. I just bought a Lego Disney frozen castle reduced from £55 to £33. They’ve also got dressing up stuff reduced so might be worth a look?
Not sure if that’s been mentioned already but haven’t fully read thread yet just wanted to mark my place.

MUjunkie · 07/08/2018 12:49

First time on this thread too! Going to be a very skint Christmas this year so I'll be watching here!

AlbusPercival · 07/08/2018 13:09

Thanks for Waterstones tip a few unexpected gems on there

duckling84 · 07/08/2018 13:20

Thank you for the Waterstones link.

I was also very disappointed in the boots sale, some of the items were more then they were in the lead up to Christmas- especially the items that had been star gifts.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 07/08/2018 13:24

Also thanks for the Waterstones tip!

They had Playmobil advent calendars for £10, for anyone after those.
