Checking in! I can't actually afford to start Xmas shopping this month mind you 🙈

fleshmarketclose · 07/08/2018 14:08

Thank you for the Magpie sale link coffee I've bought notebooks and mugs and teatowels for my adult dc's stockings, sock monkey bibs for a couple of people expecting babies and some storage tins for dd's room to keep her rubbish in all for less than £20.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 07/08/2018 14:09

Only my second year on year. I've just bought this marvel book bundle £7.93 from £65 www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0241202299/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?linkCode=as2&linkId=78c0d608b166f4ff6d74a3c750b7ef9f&creativeASIN=0241202299&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&creative=6738

I've forgotten how do do short links since last year.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 07/08/2018 14:11

Apparently I've also forgotten how to write.

Givealittlebit · 07/08/2018 14:41

@newsparklythings group present idea, when I worked in a school one of the presents sent in a huge selection of fancy teabags and some shortbread. The tea bags were a welcome change from all the sweets and chocolate!

Wow I love the anatomical bits on Magpie, sadly the only person who would appreciate them is me!

I am trying to think of an idea for in laws present this year. They don’t want or need anything so I usually make up a themed hamper, the last few have been Yorkshire produce, gin and tonic and wine and cheese.

MonkeysMummy17 · 07/08/2018 15:21

Thanks coffee for the magpie link, just sorted out sil presents and my husband is aghast that Christmas shopping has started already 😁

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 07/08/2018 15:25

Thanks to chips and reastie for the threads!
Love the magpie link too- I've ordered some tool chocolates through eBay to put in the screw trinket tin. Great idea coffee, cheers!

MonkeysMummy17 · 07/08/2018 15:36

highmaintenance how did you get it for £7? Amazon link shows £40 for me

8dayweek · 07/08/2018 15:45

Ditto @MonkeysMummy17 It's coming up at £40 odd for me too. I do sometimes find that with amazon though.

pmac62 · 07/08/2018 16:11

Thanks for the magpie link plus 20%. Bought somethings on it but stopped my self before I bought stuff I wanted!

Spam88 · 07/08/2018 16:42

Some great stuff on that Magpie website, there wasn't really enough that would be suitable for the people I need to buy for to justify the p&p though sadly!

PopeyeandOliveOil · 07/08/2018 16:45

.

Alanamackree · 07/08/2018 16:59

@Whenasuitcasejustwontdo can you link to the tool chocolates? I’m looking for something similar.

MrsGB2225 · 07/08/2018 17:01

Love this!

Highmaintenancefemalestuff · 07/08/2018 17:20

MonkeysMummy17 that's strange, I've just been onto the Facebook page that had the link and it's disappeared from there too.

Peabody25 · 07/08/2018 17:45

greyhound22 The Entertainer had some kinetic sand kits on offer last week. The 'crash em' cars were definitely reduced and possibly other bits as well.

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 07/08/2018 17:47

@Alanamackree
Try here choc tools £2.55 I've only just ordered them so hopefully they'll be ok!

Monkeymonstermum · 07/08/2018 18:12

Thanks for the Waterstones link - purchased Fantastic Beasts journal for neice, that’s the last bit of her present sorted!

Shutupanddance1 · 07/08/2018 18:14

Checking in Wine

I’ve got 2 DDs to buy for this year Smile and hubby, we are spending Xmas abroad this year so less presents to buy!

Already bought a few bits for DD1 who will be 2.5 - Dr dress up outfit, 2 my little pony’s figures, little Playmobil dinosaur set and Playdoh set. For DD2 who will be 6 months - I’ve got little play keys, and two other little toys.

Planning on doing food gifts, magazine and bubbles for stockings so can’t wait to see a few bargains..

FireflyGirl · 07/08/2018 18:31

Rotating makeup organiser £5.99 on Amazon (click on the promotion underneath, buy 1 get £20 off). Not sure about the original rrp of £41.99 but a decent present for that price! (From Bargain Buys for Busy Mums)

Alanamackree · 07/08/2018 19:20

@Whenasuitcasejustwontdo thank you!

WilmaJean · 07/08/2018 19:20

I found a small sale section in Waterstones today - got some lovely notebooks at 75% off Smile it was a small section hidden at the back of the shop but had some good finds.

FilthyforFirth · 07/08/2018 19:27

Sainsbury's have got a great toy clearance sale on in store, not checked to see if it is online as well. Got a zylophone for my nephew for £3.75 and paw patrol walkie talkies for £2.10!!!
