That’s so funny simplyput!

We got a ginormous box from amazon today (of Robert the unicorn proportions) with the amazon 3 for 2 stuff. Dh gave me a Hmm Confused look when I told him it was Christmas presents!

Anyone got any suggestions for craft/handmade gifts that aren't lame? Got loads of extended family so usually get the dcs to make stuff!

AutumnGrace · 06/08/2018 18:56

Place marking! Never too early for Christmas 🎄🎄🎄🎁

OneThingAndThenTheNext · 06/08/2018 19:03

I’ve lurked on these threads the past few years, hope no one minds if I join this year? Favourite threads!

torthecatlady · 06/08/2018 19:14

I'm itching to find a bargain Blush

MummyPig89 · 06/08/2018 19:15

I’m joining too. So annoyed I missed the Amazon 3 for 2 I hate missing a bargain!

1stTimeMama · 06/08/2018 19:18

I love it, i love it, i love it! So happy to join in :-)

I picked up an Orchard Toys game called Penguin Pairs from Sainsbury's. It's one of their mini games series and was on sale at £2.50, from £5 which is great as an extra, or nice gift for a friend. They had other options too.

TalkingOrmer · 06/08/2018 19:19

SideOrder hello from the smaller island. It's me again just with a new username. Thanks for the prequel thread.

TooLazy thanks for the Next tip - have a Santa hoodie for DH on it's way.

Coldilox · 06/08/2018 19:21

Is it bad that I orders my Christmas jumper in June? Blush

It's a Boden one, there was 20% off to preorder new season stock, plus I had a birthday voucher so it was technically a bargain...

PurpleTigerLove · 06/08/2018 19:29

There’s a leaflet in WH Smith atm with a £5 off a £20 spend voucher on the back . It can be used for Lego minifigures if anyone is collecting the new Harry Potter series .

Ilikesweetpeas · 06/08/2018 19:43

Stellenbosh - a good Christmas gift from children is mini Christmas cakes. Start saving tuna / mini baked bean cans to cook them in. A bit of apricot glaze / marzipan / icing and let the children decorate them. The pound shops will have Christmas cellophane bags - they look great in these. B&M have ready rolled out icing for a pound at the moment which is very good value. Next year look for the fruit cake kits in the January sales, this makes them even better cheaper to make !!

Smellybears · 06/08/2018 19:53

I bought a couple of reed diffuser and candle sets from Clinton’s today. Only £4.50 reduced from £15, they look christmassy but could also pass as birthday presents. They also had candles for around £2-£3 as well.

Smellybears · 06/08/2018 19:54

Gold diffuser by itself in Clinton’s was only £3. Kicking myself now for not buying any!

trilbydoll · 06/08/2018 19:54

Marking place. I can't think of a single idea for either dd (3yo and 5yo) so I'm hoping for some bargain inspiration!

Smellybears · 06/08/2018 19:59

I’m looking for Christmas soap, I normally buy loads of christmassy Lush soaps and shower gels etc but want to change shop this year as I feel I’m becoming a little predictable! I’ve seen nice toiletries in Oxfam, does anyone know if they do Christmas themed smellies? I’m going to buy some of their charity gifts as well.

BadgerFace · 06/08/2018 20:23

I haven’t dared to admit to DH that I am on the Christmas thread already as I will get a Hmm But he’s lucky that I do 95% of the children's purchasing!! Both DDs have birthdays the first week of Jan and my work gets crazy from October to the end of Jan so it’s good to get well stocked early...

BadgerFace · 06/08/2018 20:23

P.s. I love Penguin Pairs!!

OhHolyFuck · 06/08/2018 21:17

Hot wheels track thing - big saving if you're quick (£50 down to £18)

Greyhound22 · 06/08/2018 21:39

Oh can I join in?

I've already started. I managed to get a Frugi fleece in the sale for my new niece for £12 down from £32 and TKMaxx have some Le Toy Van in. Noah's Ark puzzle for £6.99 and then I got my son a really lovely skipping rope for £3.99.

Looking for Lego advent calendar and kinetic sand.

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/08/2018 21:45

Hello all!
Good to see you all again.
Is @TheImprobableGirl here yet so we can confuse ourselves?

KitKatCHA · 06/08/2018 21:48

set of 3 jumbo squishies with fab reviews down from £20 to £11.99 - no idea why but they're the big thing at DDs school!

Greystar · 06/08/2018 21:59

Love this thread! If anyone sees any bargain Brio on their travels please let me know! [santa]

duckling84 · 06/08/2018 21:59

@coldilox I am also sorted for my Christmas top via the boden preview in June. I went for the festive Breton with the gingerbread man but wishing I had bought the stag/deer one as well. They have another preview up at the moment with children's Christmas pjs, t shirts and jumpers etc. Www.bodenpreview.co.uk for anyone who is interested and p8g6 gives you 20% off plus free delivery and returns

newsparklythings · 06/08/2018 22:00

Not a Christmas thing but I'm looking for 2 gifts by end of the week - 1 for nursery nurses, the other for the nursery class as one of DC leaves nursery at the end of the week. Ideally both things that can be shared... other than sweets/chocs which is what they will end up with if I can't come up with something more imaginative..

FilthyforFirth · 06/08/2018 22:42

Am I likely to find any Christmas crockery on sale now! Particularly interested in Spode. Wondering whether to bite the bullet now and but it, or wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Do people know of they go massively in the sale in January time? As I could be persuaded to wait for a bargain!
