Thanks for the nursery present tip.. I assume all teachers end up with shed loads of chocolate and more tea cups than their cupboards can hold every year? So wanted to find something else and that would work for them as a group. I also think most of them are trying to diet.

For any sporty / outdoors types there seems to be a pretty good mix of practical bits on Decathlon website...

Third time lucky with this post!
This site has been mentioned in previous years but dotcomgiftshop has undergone a name change and is now www.rexlondon.com.
It is still the same stuff and prices but there are some nice bits in the sale. I already have my annual yield from there that I got for birthdays during the Christmas sales, but someone else might be new to their things.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 07/08/2018 23:11

@CoffeeAndEnnui could you link the cinema set? I didn't see that! I went for the flamingo and sandcastle.

We did sylvanian families last year and it's not been played with as much as I'd hoped.

QOD · 07/08/2018 23:12

Any beauty advents about?

HuglessDuglas · 07/08/2018 23:12

Disney have their mini beanies reduced to £5 and free personalisation

Sylvanian Families - keep an eye in B&M if you have one near you - they had some big play sets reduced in my local one.

Halfords also have some great bits in their summer sale.
I got a stunt scooter that had £50 off down to £30 for one sons birthday they also have car ride ins reduced inc a Mercedes one at around £20. I also got a Stanley tool box for my brother who seems to never have enough 🙄

halfords

And to also add every Christmas I give the school the same present -they expect it now 🤣 I get a big hamper fill it with nice coffee, various jars of hot chocolates - Cadbury’s, malteasers, M&S, some tins of squirty cream , marshmallows, syrups, some herbal teas and a big box of shortbread.
It means that all staff who have helped in any little way gets a wee something from them all.

Thanks for this thread and the posts about The Entertainer and Magpie - I’ve just ordered presents for 3 people :)

trancepants · 08/08/2018 00:14

When do the new Annuals come out? And where is best for buying them?

TiffinBox · 08/08/2018 00:19

I've just ordered £20 worth of gifts from Magpie and the Big20 code worked for me. So thank you to Coffee I think who posted the link. I don't think I needed 15 notebooks and have had the box delivered to my mam's so dh doesn't pass out too early this year. I figured I can sneak a few items back home every time I visit my mam!

LilMadAgain · 08/08/2018 01:37

For anyone who has family/friends with alternative tastes there is a summer sale on the Blue Banana website. Many items are buy one get one free (accessories etc) or three for two and delivery is £2.25 for a large parcel, cheaper for smaller. UK jewelry delivery is free.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 08/08/2018 06:10

Also re. Sylvanian Families, my local TK Maxx has absolutely loads of sets in at the moment.

MissRainbowBrite · 08/08/2018 07:11

Sass and Belle have a summer sale on and SUMMER20 gives and extra 20% off. They have some lovely little bits and pieces, lots of unicorns and cute gifts.

Reastie · 08/08/2018 07:30

We still have some old original polly pockets that were my sisters, dd loves them! I looked online to buy new ones last year but they didn’t make them like they used to, glad to hear they are going to come out again.

So glad this thread is back. was so helpful last year. No bargains found yet that haven’t been shared but will keep eye out.

WhirlwindHugs · 08/08/2018 07:55

Hi all, cleared out most of my stash over the year so starting again!

www.photobox.co.uk/shop/wall-decor photo box has Buy 1 get 1 free on wall art which I'm thinking about... Do they normally do better deals than this for large prints?

WhirlwindHugs · 08/08/2018 07:58

I also ordered these 3 cactus pencil cases for £2.19 from amazon here a while ago and they are great, decent quality. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B075D2DX5L/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8

TalkingOrmer · 08/08/2018 08:09

Thanks *Whirlwind” I’ve just ordered a free Little Memories Book from Photobox!

BBTHREE76 · 08/08/2018 08:36

Morning all - sorry can’t do links but have a look at retrostyler.com. I have just had a deadpool dressing gown delivered from here and it’s amazing quality. Lots of geek stuff - Star Wars, Harry Potter etc and the Super Mario range of gifts is amazing. Not the cheapest website but best range I have seen and 10% off order if you register for newsletter.

Cupcakeicecream · 08/08/2018 08:45

Hi can I join always watch first time participating. Has anyone seen any deals on the lol surprise biggie pet don't want to pay 36 for what they are to small. Apparently mid September Smyths brings out their 20% off deal.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/08/2018 08:51

Use MARS for extra 15% off Mountain Warehouse too. Works on sale stuff. Just ordered DS a coat for school.

SockEatingMonster · 08/08/2018 08:53

I have had lots of lovely Christmas bits and bobs from the Maia Gifts sale.

I picked up a couple of things in The Lovely Room sale too, although I find their prices a bit more variable.

I’m trying so hard not to follow these threads as we’re on holiday for another 8 days with only a dodgy 3G connection and I can’t order anything until we’re back anyway. I think this will be my fifth or possibly even sixth year on these threads.

SwishyHairMummy · 08/08/2018 09:39

Can I ask, does anyone here find TK Maxx good value for money?

I go in for bits for DS sometimes as I rummage for stuff I like, but not really looked at toys, games, women's stuff etc.

DH loves it for Ralph Lauren Men's
