I have had lists with requests such as
Light bulbs
Ready salted crisps
Hand sanitizer
Pork scratchings
A stick
My favourite- Evian water in a Buxton bottle!

I used to ask for boxes of sticking plasters.

A couple of years ago, visiting Santa - "so what do you want little boy?"

Answer: "a rat".

Santa was a bit speechless. Found him a toy stuffed one in the end - no way was DS (then 4) getting a real one...

eyeswideshit · 13/12/2017 13:06

A couple of years ago my cousin asked for an air guitar. Easy to buy but a bugger to wrap!

suckonthatmaureen · 13/12/2017 13:09

Pink and purple glittery yoyo - the only thing my 3 year old wants!
Not that easy to find!

punkpuffin · 13/12/2017 13:11

A friend asked ds what he was getting for Christmas and he happily announced he is getting a Hen house and some hens. This was the first time he'd mentioned it, up until then it had been power rangers. I've told him Santa doesn't bring live animals.

punkpuffin · 13/12/2017 13:12

Ds is 4!

QuestionableMouse · 13/12/2017 13:18

Would something like this work for the tiny oven? www.argos.co.uk/product/7193831

StiltonForDays · 13/12/2017 13:28

Roomba My DS used to ask for 'amazing rocket that makes ice cream and flies to the moon' type stuff when he was smaller, too Grin

girlwhowearsglasses - so it is an actual thing, then! DD hasn't just dreamt this up. I was starting to have doubts. She does have a wild imagination...

Thanks, QuestionableMouse, but DD's dream gift that she wont be getting because it doesn't exist outside of Japan are properly TINY. Like little doll's ovens. Bastarding tiny things.

snowgirl1 · 13/12/2017 14:08

DD (5) wants a cat with real fur that swims, ideally with a mermaid tail. Plus a reindeer wrapped in sparkly Christmas lights (think this is inspired by NDN's reindeer Christmas decoration on their front garden), gems(?!) and Halloween pyjamas.

Buddyelf · 13/12/2017 14:17

this tread is brilliant! All mine seem to want is slime and toys that are so tiny they end up lost in minutes

Squigglypig · 13/12/2017 14:28

My DD wanted a real magic wand that does real magic for her birthday this year...!

Her list for Christmas specified "No more lego sets please Santa", so those are going back!

Goldenhandshake · 13/12/2017 14:45

@PanannyPoo - I reckon it says rainbow tail of the horsey rather than train? Which using my powers of deduction means Rainbow Dash from my little pony?

sunshineintheclouds · 13/12/2017 18:59

PanannyPanoo

A train that carries a horse.

A light that is purple

A pram for Dolly

Haha all them years working in a nursery gives me great code cracking eyes Confused

2gorgeousboys · 13/12/2017 19:07

Some of DS2's more unusual requests over the years have been:

Electric pencil sharpener
Towel with his name on
Baby sister
Toy razor
A pen like Mummy uses (black biro!)
Brussels sprouts

watfordmummy · 13/12/2017 19:10

I asked for a yellow butter dish (one with lid) when I was a girl. I do remember it being very important to me.

PanannyPanoo · 13/12/2017 19:14

Thank you so much for all your help. You are all Miss Marple- though maybe slightly less tweed. You gave me the incentive to get to the bottom of her desires.
Behold a rainbow tail horsey light purple . .

PanannyPanoo · 13/12/2017 19:25

You can all sleep soundly! Your work here is done. You all deserve mulled wine and mince pies for helping Santa make a little girl very happy!

I once told a family friend that I really wanted a red ring binder with a dinosaur on the front. This was pre internet so not easy to just order on ebay! But she wrapped up a plain red ring binder with a cuddly T-Rex and I was over the moon with it :)

Going back a couple of pages but my DS is also obsessed with instructions, for Lego - he takes them to bed. We recently got a massive box of bionicles bits in a charity shop and he was so thrilled with all the instructions he didn't even care that half the pieces were missing.

Can't imagine where he gets it from, says his mum who will happily spend hours reading instructions for board games she doesn't even own yet... Xmas Blush

A fireman Sam annual from 2012. Apparently they have them in the school library and 2012 is the best year one!!😕😕

ArcheryAnnie · 13/12/2017 19:36

StiltonForDays it's a Konapun oven, and they cost about £300!

pollywollydoodle · 13/12/2017 19:39

DD at 4 wanted a crumpet with jam on one half and marmite on the other
A can of ginger beer which was open so she wouldn’t cut her finger
That was it, she’s 14 now, times change..

CFSantasDrankAllTheGin · 13/12/2017 19:48

3yr old DD wants a zombie and a banana.

pollywollydoodle · 13/12/2017 19:51

Oh, and at 6, an older brother..Confused

Lules · 13/12/2017 19:53

insomniac when my great uncle died the first thing I asked my mum was whether we could have his stair lift. Not sure that was the reaction she expected but it had made a big impression on me!

Cagliostro · 13/12/2017 19:55

Awww cfsanta are you getting her a zombie? I think you can get plushies from that Plants VS Zombies game
