I have had lists with requests such as
Light bulbs
Ready salted crisps
Hand sanitizer
Pork scratchings
A stick
My favourite- Evian water in a Buxton bottle!

*When I was little, every year my list had two things and two things only:

A box of chocolates
A real cat

I always got the chocolates but never the cat. Then one year I did get the cat! It was amazing...i cried with happiness!*

The most lovely story with the best ending! Aww!

When DS was 3 he announced confidently that FC was bringing him a pink potty with a loo roll holder on it like in the Pirate Pete's Potty book... two days before Christmas. As luck would have it, I had a quick search and there was such a thing available on Amazon Prime, so I snapped it up and wrapped it without telling DH. Really enjoyed seeing both their faces on Christmas morning - I feigned complete innocence and said it must be magic.

Sadly my wish of instant potty training took rather longer to deliver...

Dd when she was 3 asked for ginger, bread and a man. She was certain she didn't want a gingerbread man. When Christmas came we had wrapped up a stem of ginger and a loaf of bread and dp stood holding them with a bow on him ( his idea, not mine ) 😂 she opened the presents and was happy till she realised the man was dp and said 'he's not a man!' We all found the funny side though and also she got a gingerbread man teddy which unsurprisingly she liked a lot more.

Mine said "a horse" on it. For 9 years in a row. My grandad caved Grin and I got my horse, with a massive bow around her neck on Christmas Eve. Best year ever!

Dd wants solid muffins. Wtf are solid muffins. Aren't all muffins solid??

bnotts · 14/12/2017 08:01

Blu-Tak since she was 3 she is nearly 7 now and still requests some every year.

Underparmummy · 14/12/2017 09:34

My three year old asked Santa for some food yesterday when he met him.

Elsouth · 14/12/2017 09:41

Having a rough morning and this thread really cheered me up!

Magz6 · 14/12/2017 09:50

A large cardboard box :)

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 14/12/2017 09:54

PrivateParkin I'm scared of your DS.

Whiskeyagogo · 14/12/2017 10:42

DD 3 has asked for a racing car and a pineapple

Scrulytrumptious · 14/12/2017 12:09

When he was about 4 dgs asked me for a piece of remote controlled coal for Christmas. "Well, get him one", said dh. Confused

EmilyChambers79 · 14/12/2017 12:17

DS once asked for a blue present. That's all he would say. He got a variety of blue presents but was upset because none of them were right. He was 3.

A blue present still appears on the list, we never seem to get the right blue present and he can't explain what it is but apparently we would know when we saw it!

This year, it's Lego, books and cookie cutters. No idea why cookie cutters. He says they look interesting (he's now 10)

thegrinchreaper · 14/12/2017 12:23

This thread has really made me smile!
My eldest has asked for the usual games console stuff, clothes/trainers and a '2 point 4 children' boxset.

bellie710 · 14/12/2017 15:16

Since my DD was 2 she has asked for flash wipes, they were her favourite thing the first year she got them!!

user1471598890 · 14/12/2017 17:06

Snowgirl 1 for gems i would get either a jar or selection of pretty rocks/crystals/ools gold from a museum or a paperweight that looks like a big diamond xx

carrie74 · 14/12/2017 20:56

My DD asked for a private beach when she was 9 Grin

JennyBlueWren · 14/12/2017 21:30

DH told DS (nearly 3) that if he was silly Santa would bring him a lump of coal and did he want coal or Thomas toys? "Lump of coal, lump of coal!" Hmmm...

Last year he asked for the moon. The actual moon. He had been trying to get there on our trips out but we always seemed to end up at Morrisons. Luckily the elves found a small moon no one was using and brought him that.

He is currently very keen on the Aldi and Lidl "foodings" that came through the door. He likes the numbers and letters on them and asking what each thing is. He has made a very long list of food for granny to give us on Christmas day.

JennyBlueWren · 14/12/2017 21:32

EmilyChambers My dad used to buy me presents on the grounds that "it's blue, you like blue". Apparently that's what he'd say when they were shopping for presents, not whether or not the actual item was something I would like or use but simply that it was blue.
I have a whole variety of blue items as a result.

Thankfully I blue is my favourite colur.

Wobblebeans · 19/12/2017 13:44

The only thing I can think of is that DD2 (5) has asked for 'a real flower' this year ConfusedGrin

Courgetti2203 · 19/12/2017 13:52

My youngest daughter has asked for gum equipment and I'm not talking about a twirly ribbon or leotard. She's asked for a vault, crash mat, double swing bars and a trampetConfused
My eldest has asked for an assortment of slime making goodies. This includes cornflour, shaving foam and glitter that's covered in flour so her younger sister can't touch it - she's gluten free!

Courgetti2203 · 19/12/2017 13:54

Ahhhhhh, gym not gum equipment!

StillTryingHard · 19/12/2017 14:06

My DS has actually written 'an odd thing' on his list. It's fulfilled in shape of build your own potato fuelled electric clock
