A rubbish thread title but, well, it's 19 now!

20 days until Christmas, I'm imagining us all wrapping late at night like little festive elves readying ourselves for how excited everyone will be with their bargainous presents.

Any referral links to go on this separate thread please

Hi, can't remember who was looking for a christmas shirt for a boy, but i got a lovely red tartan one from the Gap Outlet. Think they had all sizes, and also some different colours.

Rosie2000 · 05/12/2017 21:53

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a photo mug? It's for secret Santa so need it to be as bargainous as poss.
Thanks

BrawneLamia · 05/12/2017 21:54

Reluctant how about this mug?

trixymalixy · 05/12/2017 21:59

Fuck's sake. DS's gaming PC arrived today (joint birthday and Christmas present) and it's only got "Gaming PC" all over the box in giant letters. I just managed to throw something over it before he saw it.

Why do companies do that? It must be bloody obvious that it's for a Christmas present so why not send in anonymous packaging?!

Chocolateteabag · 05/12/2017 22:01

@Curiousgeorgey - I know what you mean - I want to get all presents bought before end of Nov but then no one in my family will say what they want til Dec!! I then get the anxiety as the weather invariably starts to go to shit. So my tips are: get a job lot of Kraft brown paper bags from Amazon and tissue paper - (optional! get small kids to do hand prints or potato print penguins ala Kirstie Allsop) stock presents in bags.
Order food and or drink presents for everyone over 18, everyone under 18 give a voucher or cash (gift of choice in the sales)
Put one evening or afternoon aside to do your shopping online - and just do it, no faffing or looking at options - just buy it all and get it sorted. You'll spend more money walking round the shops this weekend (even just having a coffee) so just do it!

Sorry - DH has pointed out I may have got a bit bossy - I have had Wine tonight Blush

tulipz · 05/12/2017 22:05

OytheBumbler · 05/12/2017 22:14

Just ordered a Lottie doll - great bargain!

Thanks MargaritasFlowers

BrawneLamia · 05/12/2017 22:15

trixy agreed about the packaging, and a warning to anyone ordering from qwertee that they do the same thing, and even write the name of the design on the packaging. Angry

Carrie76 · 05/12/2017 22:17

tulipz Harry Potter, Chrinicles of Narnia, Roald Dahl, Malary Towers

TheDrsDocMartens · 05/12/2017 22:21

Ooh new thread.
I’m thinking of making my secret Santa a pack of night out/morning after. Got alcohol so far.

margaritasbythesea · 05/12/2017 22:27

They didn´t on mine Brawne. I hope your surprise wasn´t spoilt. Their international delivery was very quick and very cheap too. I don´t work for them I promise!

tiggersdontlikehoney · 05/12/2017 22:28

thanks for the Body Shop 25% offer tip, that might be a few of the remaining presents sorted

is there a point in December when shops tend to drop their prices, so they can be sure to sell Christmas stock? not sure how late to leave it but I am a last minute merchant Grin

Curiousgeorgey · 05/12/2017 22:38

@Chocolateteabag thank you! I love your tips they are definitely no messing about and makes sense!

I struggle as I spend so much time thinking and over thinking gifts for people and not enough actually buying. I also have my mums, sisters, step brother x2 and sons birthdays in November and December so adds to the pressure.

Haudyerwheesht · 05/12/2017 22:50

Thanks for the new thread!

Zevitevitchofcrimas · 05/12/2017 22:53

No great thread title and I have certainly felt v smug about the two I have had safely stowed for weeks. Reluctant camper, not as offensive as chocolate arse holes I did however see some pretty offensive sandal socks on one link posted here, am sure if you Google it you would find..

I posted earlier about London theatre week discount, I got amazing discount on matilda!! Couldn't believe it, they have loads of shows reduced all for January, select dates but brilliant gift for teens, older dc.

Jaffalong · 05/12/2017 22:55

I'm traveling to my mum's on the 24 Dec, should I hold my nerve and wait until then to buy gifts for my mum & sil from the Boots in the train station. Or should I be sensible & order online now and have it delivered directly? Thoughts ladies?

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 05/12/2017 22:57

Oh these threads... DD was all sorted.

But I saw the lightning deal margaritas posted about the lottie doll... went on to have a look and it only had 1min to go. So i twitched and went for it. Used the 15mins to check out thankfully but then had a panic when order details show it as 18.99 before applying the discount! ShockBlush

That doctor earlier this week saying PMS isn't real is wrong! I always spend more when I'm due on 😂

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 05/12/2017 22:58

Thank you to you margaritas though. That's something for her birthday in april sorted!

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 05/12/2017 23:30

Does anyone have a spare Lakeland code pls? I gave all mine away and now find myself needing a new cake tin!

Uptheduffy · 05/12/2017 23:40

bunbunny · 05/12/2017 23:56

Rosie - have a look on MoneySavingExpert - they have a photo deals page which highlights any good deals, including for photo mugs.

Plus check out places like Wowcher and Groupon - they often have good deals on photo mugs.
