haud hard to advise really, as the person I dearly love has type 1 diabetes and is as skinny as a rake. I also have a 91 year old grandma and get caught in the trap of the 'gifts for an old person' - hand cream, baileys etc. A small pack of posh biscuits to go with the lovely tea sounds good though. Or a pot plant not that I've rediscovered my pot plant obsession

ecofreckle · 25/11/2017 23:37

Adam thanks so much for that suggestion. Got the aeropress and coffee delivered for 20.50. Received a message afterwards saying I have a referral code and it would afford someone five pounds off. Not being on referral thread I missed that opportunity myself but others might like to seek it out. I'm still pleased though. Thank you Flowers

Spelling I used HYPEOFF35 mentioned earlier in this thread at nine ish tonight successfully. I didn't spin to get my own code. I assumed the code was blanket but other posters mentioned needing to use within two hours. I'm confused but it might be worth trying. I got two backpacks delivered for twenty pounds. And there were cheaper options.

margaritasbythesea · 25/11/2017 23:44

Thanks for that Methen you. Looks great for my db

PinkPanther27 · 25/11/2017 23:44

AdamBarlowsQuiff · 26/11/2017 00:05

Oh crikey @ecofreckle I could have given you my referral. I totally forgot about that because so late when I ordered it! Sorry. Glad to have helped though.

NoMudNoLotus · 26/11/2017 00:17

Iv been on mumsnet for years now , more than a decade , and this is why i still love it ... it really is a supportive community.

Im a stressed out full time nurse with fibromyalgia , i have 2 DC , a DH who works shifts , parents who are not in the best of health and we are on a debt mgt plan.

Threads like this help me enormously.

Thankyou so much everyone ... with all your help iv bought the Woolovers, an xbox headset with £40, Anki Overdrive with £50 off, and iv just got a free hive hub with 2 smart bulbs for joining up to British Gas rewards.

Thanks for all.

Well Tesco delivery saver was much better this year, logged on and booked without it being slow or glitchy for once.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2017 00:25

You did well there, Honey; others seem to have struggled!

Sainsbury's was a bit glitchy, but was booked by 0.03 (I had an order booked already, I just had to change the date).

screamativemom · 26/11/2017 00:28

does anyone have a matalan code by any chance? x

HoneyDragon · 26/11/2017 00:55

I logged on at 11:50 and the dates were already released. Last year was dreadful though, kept crashing and only the app worked.

SymphonyofShadows · 26/11/2017 02:34

I've booked my slot and my mum's with Tesco. This will be the first time I've had a delivery so close to Christmas, slightly worried that everything I order will be unavailable.

I'm having problems with some parcel deliveries. Two things I got texts for saying they would definitely be delivered Saturday weren't, annoying as I could have had them delivered to work in the week and I've run out of coffee pods

Reastie · 26/11/2017 07:30

Nomud that's lovely, glad you've found it so useful.

Taffeta · 26/11/2017 07:39

Yes big Flowers to Reastie and all contributors. It’s been really wonderful this year. From Woolovers to Hotel Chocolat, there have been some fabulous suggestions at bargain prices. I even had a go at Amazon Pantry with £10 off a £30 spend.

Just got a Magniband slightly cheaper on Amazon - great for DS.

I gave DH the HC box for our anniversary. He shared as he’s good like that. Grin They are the best chocolates I’ve ever had. And I’ve had lots of chocolates! I’m not a truffle fan and there were none in sight. Just divine, was almost tempted not to cancel the subscription....

OhRex · 26/11/2017 07:40

Thank you Methen just got 2 of those magnibands!

Changingagain · 26/11/2017 07:56

You've done well with Tescos, Dh got up again at 11.50, couldn't get it to load until after 1, and by then all slots were gone 😕 Still better than last year though lol

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2017 07:57

Even better then, Honey. I think it's only at midnight that the site went bonkers!

The Sainsbury's site didn't release early and was a touch glitchy, but the app let me check out where the website wouldn't.

Symphony, we've never really had any problems with our Christmas deliveries. And you'll at least have opportunity to rectify any issues before the day, if necessary.

I'm getting all of my veg in my usual Thursday delivery on 21st. My 23rd delivery is mostly cream, cream cheese and other fresh stuff needed for my epic baking day on Christmas Eve. I'm collecting the essentials from M&S and Booths on 23rd (it's a morning of shopping-related things before taking time to celebrate DH's birthday later in the day!).

Jenni2legs · 26/11/2017 07:59

Harry's.com/fish

Razor and shave gel for £4

Hippobottymus · 26/11/2017 08:37

Good deal i think on a PS4 on Very at the moment and if you set up a new account you can get a further £30 off

Thread 17- I haven’t even seen the aldi advert and I’m getting twitchy over bloody Kevin the carrot
wyldstile · 26/11/2017 08:44

Thanks for the magniband thing - perfect bargain stocking filler which I would never have heard about without this thread.

I thought of you guys a couple of months ago when DH discovered cornerstone razors for himself - I fought being sucked in by those SO HARD last year! And then he bought them anyway. Grin

spellingstress · 26/11/2017 08:47

With the Hype code - do I put it in where it says 'coupon' and also, how do I spin for a code?
I've been trying them all, but no success!

HoneyDragon · 26/11/2017 08:50

I’m wondering if the early release of spots was my subtle reward from Tesco for bring one of the victims of the early switchover to their new but not improved website. Maybe they felt bad for making shopping so difficult for weeks Grin

HoneyDragon · 26/11/2017 08:58

Elves should reserve eye rolling for the children. They appreciate it more.

HoneyDragon · 26/11/2017 09:08

Wrong thread .....but happy to drop some surrealism into the thread Grin

freyabeauchamp · 26/11/2017 09:22

If anyone's still looking, I've just had a stock alert from toys r us for the turquoise fingerling. In stock now

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 26/11/2017 09:23

I've bought nieces and nephews an adult colouring book each (6 and 10 at christmas) we don't see them often so unsure how parents would feel about sharpies (which I have for my dds) would you buy pencils, fine liner pens or gel pens? And any recommendations preferably under £5 per pack as have 4 sets to buy!
