WhyamIBored - I absolutely would spend the money on an islabike - they are fantastic and make a huge difference. They also hold their value incredibly well so you will be able to sell it on again once your DS grows out of it. We have had 2 cnoc 14s - 1 did 1 dc and the other did 2 - I sold both of them for £225 each last year - for the length of time we had them and the amount they had been ridden (my dc grow slowly so bikes last a fair while!) they worked out cheaper than cheapie bikes would have done. It IS a big outlay at the start but you make it back when you sell them on and they are fantastic to ride. (I currently have a Benin 20 Large to sell - need to get into the garage to sort it out but being spectacularly lazy about it all). Frogs are also great and a bit cheaper - we now have 3, but I don't know what their re-sale is like yet as we haven't needed to sell any yet so I don't know if you gain anything from them being cheaper to begin with.

Having said that - I wouldn't go for the more expensive one just for the colour - I would say that most 4 year olds will just be chuffed to bits with a bike and wouldn't care about the colour - or certainly not once they're on it! Start preparing him now by pointing out bikes you see in the cheaper colour and commenting on how cool they look!

Going back definalty get exploding kittens. Dd has lots of games and it's her stand out favourite. Getting her the expansion pack for Xmas

WhyamIBoredathome · 13/11/2017 07:50

@onlyglowingslightly
My child is a giant! He is 4 but the same size as his 6 yr old cousin. He wears age 5-6 or 6-7 clothes for the length.
He looked huge on the Cnoc 16, his upper body was too long for the frame. If a Cnoc 20 is the same size as a Beinn 20 then it would fit him but he might as well have one with gears as this bike should last him until he's turning 7. We live in a very hilly town so once he understands how to use them it should help.

@jedbartletforpresident
Frog resale is pretty good, there's a facebook group for selling them and they move fairly quickly. We have a frog balance bike and We wanted a frog again this time but unfortunately the 20" model saddle sits about 5cm higher than the Isla and my DS couldn't get his feet on the floor.

captainjacksparrow · 13/11/2017 07:59

Have I missed the EK draw?! I would definitely want to pay tho

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 13/11/2017 08:15

Agreed re Islabikes, and Frog. My DCs are doing really well in their half-the-price bikes, just as they are great swimmers without Water Babies. These companies see parents coming.

HELP ME PLEASE! I’m always a late starter but you guys really helped me out last year. This year apparently Father Christmas is bringing...”a remote controlled unicorn that actually walks”. The only remote controlled unicorn I can find is a flying one which gets dreadful reviews. I’m reluctant to spend the whole of Christmas trying to fly it and then consoling a heartbroken 4 year old.

Also....where is good for fun stationery/crafty stuff for a 7 year old? I’ve got her little kits to make stuff before but I think she is getting a bit old for that...

Thanks!!

Jenni2legs · 13/11/2017 08:17

I'd love to be pit in the exploding kittens draw too. I was going to buy it so I'd pay too xx

DumbledoresArmy · 13/11/2017 08:17

Fingerlings at toys r us for delivery

PersisFord · 13/11/2017 08:27

RJ it’s horrible!!!! She would probably love it, and it is absolutely perfect. But I was also really hoping not to spend so much. Thank you though - I bet I end up getting it anyway. The furreal one looks much nicer but even more......

I wish I could still make a magical Christmas for her with some balloons and a chocolate orange!!

CarrotVan · 13/11/2017 08:33

Persis - Smiggle, Tinc or Blippo for stationery stuff

15% off at Blippo with Kawaiilove I think

Also Wilko.com have nice stuff and The Works have lots but not all is online. They had some hideous Unicorn and Flamingo oversized rubber pens for cheap

TheImprobableGirl · 13/11/2017 08:40

persis if you are after the fur real then keep an eye on ccc alerts- it has come down to £50 a couple of times in the past couple of months and John Lewis tend to reduce theirs often too- got mine last month for £50 :)

Llamacorn · 13/11/2017 08:40

PersisFord · 13/11/2017 08:50

Thanks everyone!

PerfumeIsAMessage · 13/11/2017 09:01

No bargains, but I love the name generator, am going to use it for school! Flowers

Someone was asking about a potential M&S 20% day...a couple of threads back someone said rumour has it it will be this Thursday. (I put it on the last thread, but I have no insider info, am just hoping along with everyone else and remember it being said.)

I "saved" a bazillion things yesterday as Thursday is my out-all-day day at school so would have to do a quick "move everything to basket and check out" thingy! Here's hoping!

Thisandthat2017 · 13/11/2017 09:20

Thank you for being so awesome @Llamacorn
Congrats @rjnomore1.x

Jedbartletforpresident · 13/11/2017 09:21

Persis - if you have a Flying Tiger near you (some shops called Tiger / some called Flying Tiger - same shop) they are great for stationery - way better than Smiggle which is mostly horribly scented and way over priced. My 7 yr old DTs have proclaimed Smiggle to be "last year" and it's all about Tiger now - thank the good lord!!! DD1 (10) also much prefers it.

ASDismynormality · 13/11/2017 09:26

Don't know it's on here already but Kindle Paperwhite is £69.99 today, not sure if it's for selected customers only.

Baileystruffle · 13/11/2017 09:42

Hi folks, if you look up bomb cosmetics on amazon and order price low to high, you'll find about 6 different big sets reduced from £14.99 to £6. I just bought 3- good teacher presents! The ones reduced aren't the christmas themed sets but still lovely sets.

Even bettr you can use your promotional credit from the amazon beauty box on them :)

Baileystruffle · 13/11/2017 09:45

ASDismynormality could you put a link to the kindle paperwhite? I can't find it for that price (sob sob)

Haudyerwheesht · 13/11/2017 09:48

Congratulations RJ!

I have started wrapping! Dh is annoying me greatly because he doesn't understand why I wrap santa stuff in different paper (and therefore wrap it separately). It's nothing to do with him anyways given he does naff all for Christmas.
