Sixp, Aldi have a sewing machine coming in in the next week or so. I'll see if I can find the book and take a photo

Casablanca78 · 01/11/2017 06:37

Thank you so much for all the unicorn recommendations. She already has a ladybird pillow pet so I think the emoji ones on Amazon would be perfect! (Big emoji fan!).

Darn, I went to bed early and missed the Lego Eiffel Tower again (got a ccc alert and an in stock email from JL and missed both!!)

WisestIsShe · 01/11/2017 06:47

No bargain to mention but just wanted to say - it’s Christmas next month!!!!! 🎄🎁🎁

RJnomore1 · 01/11/2017 07:37

Ok I'm stuck and I'm hoping you lot can help.

I need something for dh uncle and his wife, both newly retired, comfortably well off so I usually buy something nice e.g. A candle set, Molton brown handwash set type of thing. Bit stumped this year for something slightly different. Budget £25-30.

friskybivalves · 01/11/2017 07:38

Missed the Eiffel T again AngryAngryAngry

autumnintheair · 01/11/2017 07:40

Sixp read the review on entertainer website site it seems that's the perfect age, my dd is ten too and has got into sewing, I think this looks like a good gateway in, however it seems batteries may be an issue with it

DillieDoily · 01/11/2017 07:48

When does the M&S beauty Advent calendar come out? For some reason I thought it was today but can’t see it

RJnomore1 · 01/11/2017 07:52

I think it's November 9th dolly

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 01/11/2017 08:02

Gin lovers - I've just seen on facebook that Lidl have Rhubarb & Ginger and Raspberry Gin Liqueurs available in their Hortus range.
(£11.99)

Doseydots · 01/11/2017 08:14

Thank you for the straightners advice. You are a helpful lot x

LBOCS2 · 01/11/2017 08:20

I have found a cheaper way of getting full priced items if some things on the lists aren’t coming down in price...

If you’re a quidco member, withdraw your money as Zeek vouchers, gaining an extra 15%, then go on to Zeek and buy your gift voucher - gaining an extra 1-10% on the value of the voucher. Then go and spend the voucher at the shop - remembering to go in via Quidco in the first place, gaining cash back on those :)

Just make sure Zeek have the Vouchers you want before committing to withdraw via Quidco.

aurorie11 · 01/11/2017 08:24

In the metro today hard copy voucher for Matalan spend £25 get £5 off. Online code Nov5off25

MoanerChopsis · 01/11/2017 08:24

@LavateLasManos thanks for the Argos link but I live about 90 minutes away from shops! I really need a delivery option, but at the moment it's all collect only. I'm hoping there will be a sweet spot in November when the early birds are finished and the last minuter's haven't started yet!

@girlwithayellowhat thanks for letting mae know that the LOL Pets are only just out in the US! Will wait and see if they cross the ditch soon!

MoanerChopsis · 01/11/2017 08:26

@GirlWithTheYellowHat arrgh misspelt your name sorry! Tried to thank you in the post above Grin

Just offering another POV on beginner sewing machines: DD is a bit younger and I specifically want one with a finger guard so I can stop hovering anxiously and let her get on with it Smile and most of the ones I've looked at have at least a few bad reviews about not working/breakdowns etc. So I'm opting to buy from a local shop that I can return it to easily (in my case Smyths ) rather than having to face into the hassle of Amazon returns and waiting around for a replacement while she loses interest in sewing

Toots38 · 01/11/2017 09:30

Hi all! Its Nov 1st so I can allow myself to start christmas bargain hunting. After a particularly rubbish christmas last year spent with DD in Intensive care for a few weeks I want to make this one extra special. Any suggestions for a non food advent calendars ? She's not into smiggle and not sure about playmobil, might be a bit young. She's a tricky nearly 7yr old. Thanks x

Toots38 · 01/11/2017 09:31

Also I saw a link ages ago about the fuji instant camera- cant find it again, could someone repost? Thanks.

OhHolyFuck · 01/11/2017 09:34

@Toots38 what about a crayola advent calendar? It's £15 and free delivery under other sellers

Thread 12 - the one where we are all going to need fingerlings
Sixp · 01/11/2017 09:38

Thanks for all the sewing machine recommendations. Posyboo I think I’m going to go for one from John Lewis. Do you know which one you bought?

cowssheephens · 01/11/2017 09:39

Toots Lots of us were refunded for the camera, not enough stock apparently! There has been a good price with Boots I think but not as good as the Currys deal.

I hope you have a special Christmas this year, what a tremendous worry last year must have been.

Toots38 · 01/11/2017 09:40

@OhHolyFuck thanks for the idea, the crayola one would be too tricky for her, she has low muscle tone so can't use crayons - she can't press too hard on the paper, but it had link to a playdoh advent calendar which might be quite fun for her.
