As a horsey girl that would always be my favourite sort of gift. How much were you thinking of spending? Does she compete? My now DH got me dubarrys for my 18th which I loved.

ecofreckle · 31/10/2017 21:45

Mainly non fiction about horses rj. She's into liberty and gentle horsemanship so reads a lot of stuff about how people approach that. But fiction is an option. I know she's just gorged on 'stranger things' on Netflix which may indicate a taste for whatever genre that is. I'm so clueless Blush

ecofreckle · 31/10/2017 21:49

fuelled she's got a couple of pairs of Dublin boots on the go at present. I've spent £35 already and am skint so perhaps another 20 or 30 pounds. I know that won't stretch to the Dubarry boots. She is training her horse in liberty at present but doesn't compete. She's too shy to put herself out there like that.

Apologies to everyone for taking over this lovely jolly thread with my Moaning on a non Christmas topic. I'll do my best to find something good bargain wise to say thank you Flowers

glenthebattleostrich · 31/10/2017 21:53

@pigletchez, Smyths have a money off code on their website which ends today if you are ordering a our generation doll. I like them, they seem good quality and nice dolls. The pictures make them look like something out of a horror movie, but they are really quite sweet IRL.

Or further back on the thread someone linked to some in TKMaxx

Theimpossiblegirl · 31/10/2017 22:00

Eco, how about a digital photo frame or photo book full of family pictures that she can treasure and take to uni when she goes?
Or less personal, vouchers for a meal/movie.
Flowers for you, being lovely to your niece while you miss your mum too. xxx

BeaLola · 31/10/2017 22:01

Not sure if this is a bargain or not as I don't use them but am posting in case it is useful to someone - in my delivery today there was a 20% off all our tea for .....

Williamsontea.com and the discount code to enter at checkout is

BODENTEA

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 31/10/2017 22:07

That's not really my thing so just general ideas, not sure if they'll be any good but horsey shopping is my favourite
A photo shoot with her horse, they aren't expensive and you usually get a couple of images and shoot for about £40. My husband got me one for Christmas and I love the pictures
If she likes sparkles an equiture browband
Tickets to see someone like Monty Roberts or Kelly marks
Bit boring but practical is sealskinz riding gloves which I couldn't live without in the winter
The new "must have" grooming brushes are eqclusive. You could get a couple of those. I'll stop now because I'm going off on a horsey tangent Blush

SomethingOfTheNight · 31/10/2017 22:13

I’m new to this thread (also lured by the title) and just wanted to add that Amazon have Stretchlings at a good price at the moment if anyone wants one.

I bought DNeice a Fingerling for her birthday in August - because she’d asked for nothing & I thought they looked quite good. Had I known the demand that would follow I’d have bought 20!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 31/10/2017 22:17

Sorry - Stretchkins not Stretchlings!

WoahBodyforrrrm · 31/10/2017 22:22

eco how about an afternoon tea for you and her? Maybe her mum could join you if she'd be able to pay for herself.

Also, if anyone has ordered anything non edible from blippo, would you mind posting a pic? I've been umming and ahhhing for months whether to get some bits 🤔

SockEatingMonster · 31/10/2017 22:30

Oh my goodness, I have finally caught up!

I bought something from Argos yesterday and noticed that they are doing extended returns over Christmas period, which is good to know. They have the Shopkins season 8 mega packs down to £11.99 at the moment.

Someone way up thread, Dolceandgabbana14 I think, linked to the Sew Cool studio which is a bargain at £17.49 so I thought I'd link again for anyone who might have missed it. 7 yo DD got one about 2 years ago and uses it a lot. I buy plain felt and she prefers it to my sewing machine as she can use it completely autonomously.

I quite often order Japanese sweets from a company called Tofu Cute @OhHolyFuck. They're not as cheap as Blippo and you have to pay postage, but they are UK based so everything arrives quickly. They have a small selection of Pokemon sweets.

autumnintheair · 31/10/2017 22:35

Thanks for sew cool link!

autumnintheair · 31/10/2017 22:37

But..... No thread? How does it sew!

SockEatingMonster · 31/10/2017 22:41

It's basically a felting machine @autumnimtheair. It uses a barbed needle to weave and tangle the felt fibres together. It's pretty strong too; some properly with half-decent quality felt, I can't pull it apart.

spellingstress · 31/10/2017 22:49

Sherbert - my mum likes gin...do I just order a box and then cancel the subscription?

Sixp · 31/10/2017 22:56

Ooh I am tempted by the Sew Cool, but my Dd is 10, not sure if It’s the right age bracket. She loves making things but wouldn’t manage a sewing machine herself and i don’t have a clue!

woodwaj · 31/10/2017 22:58

I am looking for the complete heroes box set (blu ray) for under 29.99. I'm currently tracking it on Amazon as it occasionally changes but I'm sure you brilliant bargain hunters can go 1 better!

Sixp · 31/10/2017 23:03

I think I need a beginner’s mini sewing machine - suitable for a 10 year old. Anyone have any experience on this front?

PosyBoo · 31/10/2017 23:22

Sixp John Lewis do a mini sewing machine which I brought for my niece a couple of Christmas’s ago (she was 9 at the time). I think it’s around £50/£60 and comes in lovely different colours. It’s been fab for her learning the very basics and independently creating little craft projects.

NellyTimes · 31/10/2017 23:51

Poundworld currently have the Thomas and friends mini blind bags for £1 rather than the usual rrp of £2.50 if anybody has any Thomas fans.

IHeartKingThistle · 31/10/2017 23:55

Those of you looking at the lovely Robert Sabuda pop up books, I just ordered the Beauty and the Beast one from the Wordery for £11.93 with free delivery. Good price compared to Amazon!

screamativemom · 01/11/2017 00:21

Dorsey my dd has the lee Stafford coco loco straighteners.. They are really good! Also they are pink x
