Someone upthread mentioned this laptop from Argos.
I know nothing about tech but thought DD might need a laptop for high school when she goes in September. We only have iPads at home. Does anyone know anything about laptops and whether it looks like a good buy? Also does the office 365 mean that I would have an ongoing annual charge to be able to use word / excel.

30% off a couple of Lego Juniors sets on amazon:

Lego 10734 Demolition Site
Lego 107743 Cars 3 Smokey's Garage

RealBabyFoodBaby · 27/10/2017 21:19

Does anybody know if multiple people can send messages to the cloud pets? How exactly do they work? Really want to pick one up for DD1 for when she stays at her dads...

trinitybleu · 27/10/2017 21:25

OH says it'll be slow day to day, and definitely no good for games etc. But for £150 it's not much to risk if you think she's the type to loose it.

FucksakeCuntingFuckingTwats · 27/10/2017 21:31

First time posting this year, have name changed since last year.

Thanks for the benefit code got a few gift sets for my daughters and niece.

My daughter got a fingerling for her 8th bday on the 6th October. She really likes it and has it hanging off her lamp and plays with it for a little while every night before bed before rocking it to sleep. I also had a play with it and my four year old and we all enjoyed it, we have played with it more than the hatchimal so definitely worth it for 15 pounds.

Rainyboooooo · 27/10/2017 21:31

I’ve just had an email from Hype (which I had to decipher Grin) but I have a code for 20% off for a friend, I think it’s one use not on sale, if anyone wants it PM me.

beadyboo · 27/10/2017 21:33

Thanks Trinity. I’m thinking more for typing up homework on word and putting together little presentations on PowerPoint etc.
We won’t be running anything too demanding on it, but there’s nothing more frustrating than a slow spreadsheet so maybe I should look elsewhere. If your OH has any suggestions that’d be great.
We do all internet searching etc on iPads and phones so we should really have a computer with a keyboard and access to office for use at home.

RealBabyFoodBaby I haven't got a Cloud Pet yet but I have ordered several! Have a look on YouTube for tutorials, I learned a lot from watching them!! Anybody who downloads the app can send messages to the Cloud Pet, although it doesn't go directly to the toy, all the messages are sent via the 'parental control' app, so you can screen the content before the child hears it. Some say that this is good, others say that it is a pain (but I'd rather know what my DC have access to, so for me it's a positive). They can record and send messages back, but again I think they have to go via the parent app. It is possible for children to send messages to one another from the toys, but once again, it has to go through the parent app.

I might not think it's such a great idea once my DC start sending and receiving messages from grandparents, friends and each other, but for £6 it's worth taking a chance!

They are also fairly reasonably priced on Amazon if the Entertainer doesn't have what you want in stock.

Do you think the country playmobil pony farm 6927 will be reduced after Christmas (or before!) its dds birthday on the 3rd of Jan and she would love it but I just can't afford £40 😱

Minster2012 · 27/10/2017 22:13

Placemarking very late, definitely don't need a fingerling but damn all these threads have really made me want one 😁

Anyone seen any Super Wings bargains?! I don't even know what they are!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 27/10/2017 22:34

Found you all again! Wow!!

Are Fingerlings in demand now? I may have overbought so will be taking two or three back (between my mum and I we were trying to get the colours DD wanted)

After something for DH but don't have a clue what!

Catanddogmake6 · 27/10/2017 23:17

Choccy last year Asda reduced the price of physical gift vouchers. All I can remember is I bought £40 worth of cinema vouchers for £30ish in store. It would have been around Black Friday time and it was most of the physical vouchers they sell - maybe someone else can remember the specifics (I got the original tip off here). Also some employee schemes give you discount on vouchers often John Lewis etc. If you have that type of benefit scheme at work, it's worth a look.

Catanddogmake6 · 27/10/2017 23:19

Also thanks for whoever posted the tip on the Playmobil Ice Skating advent calendar - I've been watching that for ages and was beginning to despair it wasn't coming down in price.

herecomesthsun · 27/10/2017 23:20

TroubledTribble28 · 27/10/2017 23:30

Does anyone know what date roughly the non-chocolate toy advent calendars hit the supermarkets please?? They're one of my favourite parts of Christmas and I like a variety for my son me

BitofaPoorEffort · 28/10/2017 00:17

Thisandthat2017 thank you very much for the code, much appreciated

thiskittenbarks · 28/10/2017 00:24

Thanks v much for book people heads up and codes. Got a ton of books - yay

Wayfarersonbaby · 28/10/2017 00:41

Keep looking for fingerlings restocking - Argos were out anywhere near me for the last few days but just now one of the two-monkey sets came back into stock nearby so I nabbed it - and with the Argos code a pp reminded me about I got it for £20! Not even sure DD wants one but she's getting one now (even though DH on seeing them said he would "burn the creepy little f*ers if [he] found one in the house" which might be going a bit far Grin Grin)

DieDieFrickenDie · 28/10/2017 01:39

Playmobil 6005 Hawk Knight's with Camouflage Wagon price dropped to £10.02 from £16.99 on Amazon
