Much to my annoyance I missed out on the Emma Bridgewater offer. We have been visiting Alton Towers for a couple of days and I noticed that the Emma Bridgewater factory shop was ten minutes from our hotel, so on the way home we stopped by.

Not only did I get a bargainous seconds mug (it has a tiny patch of slightly thicker glaze on the handle) we also went on the factory tour, which is an even more bargainous £2.50 for adults, and free for children! I know it’s not really a Christmas bargain, but if you’re in the area it’s well worth a visit.

Lisa Angel also have a lovely light for £16 (I don't work for them honest! )

Help, thread 12! Have read all of them, I think everyone here is so helpful and it's a fun read... but I just realised I've done bugger all actual shopping. I have to buy for 13 kids as well as my 2, plus a small array of adults. Yay.

I think I'll go vouchers for every child over 10 (does anyone know anywhere I can get a voucher for a shop that very ethically conscious people would accept, ie not Amazon? One child will need this). Do we know whether these are ever reduced if bought in bulk?

Main presents for the DDs, no idea as yet. The little one has a list so may get a pile of smaller stuff. We usually do stockings and one big gift for them.

When I've written a list and realised how many people I have to buy for, I'll be back to source the always trickier adult stuff.

Where do I put the annual moan that DH does NOTHING but more than half these people are on his side of the family? Yes, I know, don't do it. But they buy for all of us. It's catch 22.

bangbingbong · 27/10/2017 19:36

@dancemom I’ve just seen an Argos ad for a laptop that is £149.99 and get a £10 voucher for spending £100+
I don’t know if it’s any use but just thought I’d mention it

Any luck with the Lego wrapping paper Annwithnoe?

I need to get a move on with my Christmas presents. A lot still on the list, Playmobil, Scooter, Star Wars stuff, Wii U games, David Walliams kids books, a stopwatch, colouring stuff... and other stuff that'll crop up over the coming weeks. Fingerlings probably!

Office has 20% off full price styles and free delivery with the code TREAT

@choccyjules how about Lush for an ethical voucher? Or Body Shop, which is now no longer owned by L'Oreal and is a decent ethical choice? :)

Iwannasnack · 27/10/2017 19:48

choccyjules how about a good old fashioned book token?

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2017 19:54

We got Lego-style wrapping paper from Tesco recently. I need to cover an old toy box with it so it becomes the Lego storage box!

woodwaj · 27/10/2017 19:56

choccy I had that exact moan to my OH when he saw my total spent so far. He's shut up now Wink

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 27/10/2017 19:56

Try zeek for vouchers

lionsleepstonight · 27/10/2017 20:11

What is everyone getting MILs this year? Last year got her the Good Housekeeping and Joseph bowls, and got a Lakeland voucher. I'm stumped this year. She's got all the 'stuff' she needs.

FireflyGirl · 27/10/2017 20:16

@margaritasbythesea I got the Schleich volcano with 3 dinosaurs for £12.49 in June. It's a decent sized present, too. Might be worth setting up an alert on CCC, to see if it drops again. It's currently at its highest price on Amazon, nearly 3x what I paid, so not bargainous at the moment Xmas Shock

LoudestRoar · 27/10/2017 20:16

Rockhopper81 The cloud pets are really great. You control their message centre, and upload the messages that are sent. DS really loves his...

margaritasbythesea · 27/10/2017 20:26

Thanks firefly. I will do that. I'm hoping for a 3for 2 on the Schleich dinosaurs as well as he has some specific asks. He's a bit like Edmund Elephant from Peppa Pig.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 27/10/2017 20:27

@LoudestRoar how old is your DS?

Pidgythe2nd · 27/10/2017 20:28

LEGO Elves 41172 The Water Dragon Adventure Has dropped on amazon to £11.62. Not the lowest ever price but a good drop.

ipswichwitch · 27/10/2017 20:29

4252 gets you 20% off full priced items at vertbaudet.
I've just pre-ordered fingerlings, including the sloth one, at smyths. Expected in stock 3rd to 10th November

ReluctantCamper · 27/10/2017 20:30

Lego Architecture Venice on amazon at £16.71, very close to its lowest price ever according to CCC

TotalShock · 27/10/2017 20:31

Toys r us have £8 off the sea patroller at £61.98 then use the £10 voucher SAVE10 to bring it down to £51.98. 5% back with TopCashback if it tracks would bring it just under £50

Also I think they price match, Argos has the paw patroller for £47.99 so if you bought something to make it a £50 purchase then use the voucher in store to get the paw patroller for about £40

ChoccyJules · 27/10/2017 20:32

Thanks for the voucher suggestions. Had a look at Zeek, is it a marketplace for people to sell on their vouchers? No Amazon (my usual go-to).

Pidgythe2nd · 27/10/2017 20:33

DS has written his santa letter and wants a chocolate lolly maker.
I vaguely remember someone advising on here! Should I get silicon moulds, bars of chocolate, and sticks? Would that work?! Is amazon the best place?
Thanks for any advise.

EmGee · 27/10/2017 20:53

Pidgy I got a John Adams chocolate lollipop maker from Tesco last year for the DC. Honestly, avoid it. Full of crap that is useless. I would just get the moulds, sticks and your own chocolate. Someone on here mentioned moulds at Lakeland.

Mammatron · 27/10/2017 20:56
