My local Tesco only had a stack of tubs of chocolates and a shelf of Bayliss and Hardings gift sets. I WANT CARDS - WITH GLITTER.

Actually I buy my cards from cardsforcharity.co.uk but it's the principle of the matter.

John Lewis was gearing up for Christmas today. I'm going to have to take the kids back in a week or so to choose their decorations for the year. And I'll let them buy tinsel for their tree; it's not coming near mine!

I've not had Matchmakers in a loooooong time!

My DH has a thing for Festive box biscuits. ( the little xmas shaped biscuits half dipped in chocolate)

The past few years its become a habit to pop one in the trolley whilst doing the weekly shop in the run up to xmas. I hope they don't stock them too soon or ill be the piling on the weight before xmas!

I was in Wilkinsons yesterday and they have started getting Christmas gifts in too.

I'm going to try and lose weight before Christmas, I think, so any Christmas treats will be put in the garage where I can't be bothered to go. I managed it last year, on a thread on here, but since starting my new job I've lost momentum quite a bit...

Am enjoying the delights of the Welsh weather on our summer holiday - DD has croup, DH and I have stinking colds and I have conjunctivitis.

When we get home the heating is going on!

DD used to get croup on an annual basis, so I feel your pain on that front. Scary, isn't it?

Sounds like you and DH have a similar bug to the one which DS and I are sharing. It goes on forever, if it is, by the way. I'm heading into week 2 and DS is almost into the 3rd week!

I'm holding off on the heating front for now as the house is - just - maintaining a comfortable temp. It's not going to be off for long though, if this wet weather carries on!

Aww...missed you too! RL has rather got in the way lately (as it often does!) She's never had croup before, so it was quite scary!

MrsD lovely to see you back and very sorry to read that your holiday is blighted by illness. Poor little M - I hated it when mine had croup.

Quirky I was wondering where Mrsmad had gone! You have a very distinctive posting style and I missed it - it's like having a lovely chatty conversation.

@MrsDilligaf our DS has had croup 4 times now (3 times this year) it's awful, completely feel your pain.
