Hi MrsGB!

Lots of Nov / Dec babies in this thread now. Very exciting times! I love squishy babies!

ScrappyMalloy · 14/08/2017 19:56

Hi - I've been happily browsing through your thread and, as I love Christmas with all my heart, can I join you please?

I'm already boring my family with Christmas talk and plans. I haven't bought any present yet though, as I am being super-organised though and buying vouchers as I go, to spend in November.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/08/2017 20:23

Welcome Scrappy

I've just booked my pre-Christmas weekend away with my SILs and my DDs. Will be filled with cocktails and Christmas shopping. Looking forward to it already.

Just biding my time now for just after midnight Xmas Wink cracks knuckles and flexes fingers

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2017 20:28

I want to get in first! 😂

Hi, Scrappy!

ScrappyMalloy · 14/08/2017 20:39

Thank you Grin

I love the run up to Christmas, and have a Christmas list already started, and vague plans for trips out beforehand.

It must be infectious though because even DH mentioned making a Christmas cake this afternoon.

May be it was me singing Walking in a Winter Wonderland that did it Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/08/2017 20:40

Is that a gauntlet I see before me? Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/08/2017 20:59

Ha! It's turning into a fastest finger first challenge! Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/08/2017 00:03

131

I waited to see if anyone else was up...

SideOrderofSprouts · 15/08/2017 00:20

Wooly!

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/08/2017 00:30

Sorry Sprout I'll stop it now. Grin I managed to come home from my holiday with some sort of virus and my sleeping pattern is all over the place.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2017 06:12

I was very asleep as Tuesday morning is my travel to Glasgow morning so I get an early night on Monday!

One day I'll get in there though. 😂

BiddyPop · 15/08/2017 08:29

Hi all,

Back to work from holidays today😂 So boommarking for a good read later to catch up!!

But I did hear on the radio this morning that, with 130 days to go (according to the presenter - I assume it's on the press release), the Christmas shop in the large dept store in Dublin is due to open at 9am this morning! I know I saw someone else mention the shop on this board (maybe not the countdown but there's obviously another Dub Christmas nut around Xmas Grin floating around somewhere here!).

I may wander in at lunch.....

Not a lot done for Christmas since I was last here, but I also have plans to print off the HGP sheets and get myself organised.

And catch up on the latest news and chat here too!

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2017 08:33

Ooh. I think my friend works in that store, Biddy!

AIMGA · 15/08/2017 09:37

Oooo Biddy what are the HGP sheets? I love an organisational printable Xmas Grin🤓!!

I have spent the morning organising my Christmas cupboard. And I'm looking for a FC present for DS who will be one at Christmas...

BiddyPop · 15/08/2017 11:56

AIGMA The Holiday Grand Plan is here and there are links on that site also to the Houseworks Holiday Plan, which is a different way to do it over the same 18 weeks (from end of August to the week before Christmas), just with different emphases in the 2. The same site also has a 6 weeks plan for people who want a shorter plan closer to the time - which still does most of the Christmas stuff just less on the "get the whole house given a decent once-over across the autumn" part.

I never manage to finish it, some years I get more done than others, but at least the plan means I have things to tick off and an organized schedule. And I remember to do things like check smoke alarm batteries and clean chimneys before winter really sets in.

FridgeCut · 15/08/2017 12:45

OOH I like the HGP! I need a kick up the bottom to get on top of the house so this seems perfect for me.

Will they send me weekly emails from the 27th? I've liked them on facebook but can't quite work out how it works :)

RuggerHug · 15/08/2017 14:46

Biddy BTs?!? Ooooooooh.....Grin (I think there's a few Dubs around)

Hubbabubbababy123 · 15/08/2017 15:00

Limerick bts Won't open till the weekend. It's by bday tomorrow and family always give me gift cards for bt and I splurge on decorations 😂😂 I am in love with the bt stuff

RuggerHug · 15/08/2017 15:12

I have an excuse to finally buy one for DS first Christmas right? Grin

BiddyPop · 15/08/2017 16:23

Rugger Ian Dempsey said it this morning - but it is actually only opening on Thursday (I was in at lunch and they are setting it up, but there was nothing new so far in what they had out compared to last year). Xmas Sad

Meanwhile, I did get out in the sunshine for a walk as a result, and bought my fruit in M&S to get started on my healthy kick - I intend fitting a stunning dress by this Christmas!!

SideOrderofSprouts · 15/08/2017 16:32

Argh babychips slammed the door onto my
Finger today

All the pain

Almost a year after the pony smashed the finger next to it 😭😭

RuggerHug · 15/08/2017 16:33

Ah I see. Well DS is only 5 weeks old so I wasn't exactly able to spring into action and run out to get anything but it can be the out into the world goal for next weekGrin
Sunshine on a trip to look at Christmas things....not very Irish at all!

Minster2012 · 15/08/2017 16:43

So hold on, this HGP thing, they actually send you memos to get your act in gear? If so, how do I get this virtual kick up backside please! Grin

BiddyPop · 15/08/2017 17:00

Sorry, yes it was BTs.

For those asking about the HGP, I believe they send emails but I never signed up to that, just went on and printed off the various sheets to help me keep track.

guffaux · 15/08/2017 18:25

Christmas treats planned/booked
(weekend away to include choral concert and carol concert in a Georgian town, with lovely restaurants and independent shops)

(weekend away with candlelight carol concert at a NT favourite place, with a good restaurant, good gift shop, fabulous setting)

gets pre-Christmas treats for ourselves, plus all the Christmas shopping done, in a nice, slow, relaxed way.

scoping out the advent calanders-got sanctuary ones last year, maybe boots' or m&s this year- any recommendations? they are for stylish and style savvy people (not me)

candles and dainty starry decoration hooks ordered,

ddog's new coat/fleece suit sorted (she feels the cold)

two stone weight loss programme in progress

nonchalantly watching pinterest boards to see what others are getting up to avidly exploring to steal ideas

trying to talk to dp about it but response 'its AUGUST' so far
