mummytron how about wind up things to have races? Or toy cars to have races? One year I did the little pull back and go camper vans that Sainsburys sell for £2.50 (but mine had been marked down to 25p!) and had sharpies out so people could customise - and then race, which was fun. I've bought the reindeer toss game from previous threads for this year - fingers crossed it comes.

Selfie props for silly pictures? Poundland have notice boards likes speech bubbles to write comments into your selfies.

Origami set?
Craft set? The works has all sorts of sets and kits and games and puzzles.

Home bargains has tissues and napkins printed like £50 notes (other denominations are available)

Finger lights?

Small musical instrument like harmonica, castanets etc

Job lot of rubber chickens and do a diy Chicken Charades

Asda £5 Xmas fleece to snuggle in after lunch

Tea towel for the unlucky ones doing the washing up Xmas Grin

Silly hat (search cow hat on eBay!)

We do a wind-up toy race every year with my side of the family. Sourcing 10 new ones a year is becoming more difficult! Very excited this year though as DH went to Japan with work and found a wind-up toy shop - he's had 10 squirrelled away since the summer and I am not allowed to see!

It's a lovely tradition though, we have videos of them all from when the DC were tiny. Sob.

Sorry, there was nothing bargainous in that post AT ALL.

BrollySmolly · 02/11/2016 23:19

Mummytron - these festive face cards are £3 in wilko and great quality.
We had crackers with whistles that were great fun on Christmas Day!

I think I'm going to steal your wind up toy race for our Christmas table this year IHeartKingThistle!

Thanks also to whoever (sorry, forgotten who) posted about the Hurrah for Gin books being back in stock at The Book People. I don't suppose anyone has a working code? Not a new customer one. I feel rather stingy asking, as the books I want are all cheap enough anyway, but after months on these threads I can't quite bring myself to checkout without one!

IHeartKingThistle · 02/11/2016 23:20

Oh no I've killed the thread with my wind-up toy ramblings...

IHeartKingThistle · 02/11/2016 23:20

Yay x-post!

SitsOnFence · 02/11/2016 23:28

I'm googling them now IHeartKingThistle

I also meant to thank the person (again, forgotten who, sorry) who posted the Pure Collection 20% discount and £10 new customer code. There wasn't really anything I fancied so I chanced it and ordered a cashmere pompom keyring for £7.50, using the £10 credit (so free, basically) I didn't think it would be honoured, but got a dispatch email today. It will be perfect for an adult* advent calendar I'm making.

*adult as in grown up. Not an S&M advent calendar...

AtleastitsnotMonday · 02/11/2016 23:42

Someone was asking about reliability of La Radoute delivery. I ordered Monday with Xmas code and collected click and collect this evening, so v efficient!

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 03/11/2016 00:10

Place marking.

Great title Reastie.

IHeartKingThistle · 03/11/2016 00:47

SitsonFence I'm so excited it's a bit pathetic! I am so strict with myself too - I order them and put them away and I have no idea what any of them do or how fast they go until the day of the race. We put them in a bag and people take turns to pick them out with their eyes closed.

DH's videos have got more spectacular over the years too - we now have pre-match interviews and credits at the end. One year my mum bought 10 outlandish hats from charity shops for us all to wear at 'the races'.

I get a bit carried away at Christmas Blush

AdmiralData · 03/11/2016 00:53

Home Bargains today had mason jars with lids and plastic straws (yes, yes i know) two for a quid. I actually have several relatives who like the jars so I bought some and stuffed them with sweets also from Home Bargains. Giant Parma violets for 15p, Halloween randoms for 39p (don't actually look Halloweeny) and strawberry bonbons for 35p for a more old school charm. HTH.

APocketfulOfStars · 03/11/2016 06:17

Messaged you 1st

Babysocks · 03/11/2016 06:21

Could anyone tell me what the beerhawk offer was... And if it's still running :)

Thanks

siblingrevelryagain · 03/11/2016 06:24

I've just bought a subscription of 6 issues of 'gadget' magazine for just over £10-£4.72 back if going through topcashback (search 'magazine' and it's the first one that comes up), with (allegedly) 75% off full price so £14.99 for the 6 issues before cash back.

AmyAmoeba · 03/11/2016 06:38

Got caught out with my bargain hunting Sad I was holding off on buying some bits from Accessorize' hallowe'en collection in the hopes that they would be reduced in price now. Instead they've disappeared off the shop floor altogether. I can order them online but with shipping to Ireland it ends up much more expensive, and the bits I want are still full price anyway Sad

Tiger is worth a browse if anyone is near one. They have some lovely bits including fill-your-own advent calendars, gingerbread kits, unicorn plush toys and a slightly worrying sausage shaped stress toy that reminded me of the boardgame a previous poster mentioned!

I'm putting together a Christmas parcel for a couple in the US and trying to think of lightweight gifts (food and non-food) that they don't have over there. It's getting harder each year - Lidl, aldi, tiger and primark are all over there now. Darn globalisation!

Matilda2013 · 03/11/2016 06:45

Up early reserving toys on Argos Hmm that's what my life has become! Everything except two things in stock and one of them wasn't important so I'm good to go tomorrow hopefully and praying nothing changes majorly in price!

Strawberryfield12 · 03/11/2016 06:55

It was me Sitson, great it was of use and well done finding it!

whatnextfred · 03/11/2016 07:16

I've just reserved three full price items at Argos, so when I go tomorrow the cheapest should be free??

LostMyRubySlippers · 03/11/2016 07:21

Loads of winter/ Xmas bedding on achica, up to 67% off- many singles £10. Can't link but if anyone wants a referral then pm me your email address- gets you £10 off £20 spend & £10 for me

OrangeSquashTallGlass · 03/11/2016 07:22

AgnesBrownsCat you only need Pokemon Sun or Pokemon Moon - not both. So that will save you £35 Grin

TobleroneBoo · 03/11/2016 07:30

Can I just mention Lands End on here, I hadn't heard of them but found some slippers on debenhams and decided to check out their actual website

It's essentially cosy clothing, and I needed to add something to my order so I called them and after one ring they answered, added it and it was all done - no dramas

They currently have 25% off orders - code is FRIENDS

RJnomore1 · 03/11/2016 07:32

It depends how much of a fan your kid is - Pokemon sun will have Pokemon that Pokemon moon doesn't. Fortunately (or not) I have two Pokemon fans so they get one each. They always do the two game thing to get you to buy twice. Sneaky.

PuraVida · 03/11/2016 07:54

Hello. Can any of you experts help with this? Dd desperately wants the baby Annabel bedroom. It appears to be a very expensive box. I can live with that but the reviews all say it doesn't come with clothes hangers (part of it is a 'wardrobe'). I cannot find hangers anywhere and as I've not yet got it I can't see what size will fit. Anyone seen any dolls clothes hangers that might work? Flowers

Badders123 · 03/11/2016 07:59

I would check out etsy or ebay

imsorryiasked · 03/11/2016 07:59

Ages ago someone was looking for snow leopard pjs (I think, could just have been a weird dream) and I just saw these whilst browsing designs
