Not a Robert related title, but couldn't resist this one (can't remember who said it though).

As usual, links etc in post two. Please let me know in bold if anything no longer works Thanks

Does anyone know...if I order 3for2 at Argos on Tuesday (Payday) can I pay online for click and collect? Might not be able to get to the store that day but it ends at Midnight?

Darkswan · 24/09/2016 20:11

Is there a link to the red subscription please? I can't find it and want to get one for my mum. And maybe myself Grin

Changingagain · 24/09/2016 20:16

As you're all obviously expert Christmas buyers on here, can I ask for a little advice please.

It's DS's first year in nursery, are presents for the nursery teachers expected? I don't even know how many of them there are in the baby wing Confused

Whatdoesaduckdo · 24/09/2016 20:19

Carrotvan I done the Superdrug bargain yesterday to get the gift set and then got an email today to say they would not be dispatching and had issued a refund Sad

acsec · 24/09/2016 20:21

TheBuild a Bear offer is for loyalty card members and expires tomorrow. It's a one time code.

The Red magazine link is Red

MinnowAndTheBear · 24/09/2016 20:22

changing at DS' nursery everyone brings a generic (wrapped) present and puts it under the Christmas tree in the foyer, and the staff get to choose.

AmyAmoeba · 24/09/2016 20:24

Thanks for the penguin suggestions - we used to visit a toystore that had a Melissa and Doug penguin on display four or so years ago and used to have to pop in for penguin hugs, long before the penguin obsession took hold. I'm really curious to see if there's any glimmer of recognition on Christmas morning.

Thought this might give the space-challenged Robert owners a laugh: DH thankfully sadly vetoed this in spite of my protests that it would be in the Spirit of Robert. Robert has also been vetoed. Clearly the only way to save this marriage is to stop consulting him. Whoever said communication was vital to a healthy relationship obviously hasn't been on a mumsnet bargain thread.

CandyMcJingles · 24/09/2016 20:24

Changing if the staff change in number and rotate from room to room then a group gift is nice (box chocolate). If it's a school where the staff are static then an individual gift I think. When DD was at daycare nursery I did the box of chocolates. Now she is 3 and in school nursery the teacher and two teaching assistants are getting a gift each - I bought jars of joules soaps earlier this year from the joules eBay site.

Whatdoesaduckdo · 24/09/2016 20:26

No cuts thanks for the Wilko tip we don't have it in n Ireland but they do deliver for £4 I have ordered the massive 1700 piece blox boat, £35
Castle at £15 Viking boat £7 funfair £7 bus £4 - going to have a happy boy over Christmas.
And 4% cashback makes up for some of the delivery cost

CarrotVan · 24/09/2016 20:30

Ah buggeration, what. If that happens I'll try in store. It's plastered all over their website so if it's out of stock that's really crap

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 24/09/2016 20:34

Changing I buy a box of chocolates for the staff generally and then an individual gift for ds's key worker. Max £10 on that.

Darkswan · 24/09/2016 20:39

Thanks acsec.

Changing when dd1 was at nursery we always just did a big box of chocolates to share.

imsorryiasked · 24/09/2016 20:41

SestraClone Oliver Bonas had some good things in their sale which might suit. Mentioned in one of the earlier threads but I can't remember if there was a code too.

RJnomore1 · 24/09/2016 20:52

Can I just point out to you all it was my DH who bought the original Robert?

This is why we need to move to a bigger house...Grin

CarrotVan · 24/09/2016 21:22

You can get £5 off at Oliver Bonas if you sign up to the newsletter - £20 minimum spend. They've got some lovely jewellery

BowlFullofJelly · 24/09/2016 21:32

Extra 10% off at Debehams, use code TH69

yaffle · 24/09/2016 21:38

Thank you whoever to was who mentioned the TQ toys website , I've just bought a load of Melissa and Doug stickers / beads/stamps tat dd3 doesn't need

yaffle · 24/09/2016 21:40

oops that should have been to whoever (whomever ?) it was.

confuugled1 · 24/09/2016 21:50

CoshPunt check out TK Maxx for leather wallets - last year I picked up some really nice ones for my dm to give as presents - they were about £20 instead of £120!

They also came in nice presentation boxes and were recognisable brands so would have made nice gifts.

Not sure if they were really worth £120 but they were certainly much nicer than a normal £20 leather wallet!

VinoTime · 24/09/2016 21:52

Star and moon lamp Brolly. It's awesome!

Alternative colours are available on the settings - DD just liked this mix the best. You can also set it to stationary or moving.

confuugled1 · 24/09/2016 21:56

Any teachers on here - do you reckon those Book People spineless style posters would be suitable for a teacher present or would that be a bit of an odd thing to get?

Just thinking that it would be much safer to send cack handed, liable to drop everything dd2 into school with a tube of posters than a bottle of wine or box of chocs! Teacher is young male junior school teacher, nice chap, seems more bookish than sporty if that makes a difference. Was thinking of the adventure set; would you like that or would you want reliable but boring chocs or wine?

lozster · 24/09/2016 22:16

The nursery my boy goes too does a communal gift tree too. I put a couple of gift sets under last year plus I got the nursery staff (4) in his room a Lush teddy bath bomb each and handmade a card. This year we will get a communal gift plus I have bought 4 treasure chest craft boxes (baker Ross) which we will decorate and fill with mini bath bombs and a personalised soap (message 'merry Xmas love little Loz) printed on a tiny guest bar) all from eBay. The staff are great and I'm sure they don't expect a personal gift but I like kiddo to say thanks now he is old enough to appreciate them and knock up something half decent.

Finlaggan · 24/09/2016 22:33
