Rubbish title but I'm off to bed in a min (it's been one of those days).

As usual links are on post two.

If I've missed anything good (which could be very likely as I'm getting back to work mode atm) let me know.

I have succumbed to the lure of the unicorn as well Grin DD(6) will be delighted. No idea where we'll keep it but hey, seeing as it's likely to be surgically attached to her, that's probably not going to be the biggest problem ever!

Wenchelda · 18/09/2016 07:59

Slightly worried now the size of the unicorn box has been mentioned .... Hope it comes whilst DCs are at school as I've no idea how to explain what it is if they ask! Confused DS is obsessed with collecting boxes and turning them in to dens/planes/elf houses so on the plus side, he'll probably be as thrilled with the box as DD will be with the unicorn Grin

SheStoodInTheStorm · 18/09/2016 08:00

Argh I can't decide between Sylvanian families or Playmobil for my soon to be 3yo DD!

CocoaBum · 18/09/2016 08:02

I am laughing so hard at all your unicorns! DD already has a big one, but nowhere near that big - I'd have a cardiac if someone got her that gigantic one for Christmas --hopes BIL isn't on this thread

I got another bargain in my local Tesco extra yesterday - large playmobil police car with flashing lights for £5. Seems so be about £20 elsewhere. This will be the third bargain from there now - and they aren't even with a special sticker. Just a normal one with a stupidly low price. So weird!

SelfieStick · 18/09/2016 08:07

fueled life is too short to go on living without a giant unicorn. Flowers

Ihearthickson · 18/09/2016 08:11

Apologies if already posted....one for the unicorn fans - £5 instead of £15 www.thetoyshop.com/dolls-soft-toys/soft-toys/Flashlight-Friends-Unicorn-Soft-Toy/p/527466

Sweetdreamsaremadeofthis · 18/09/2016 08:14

If the box arrives whilst kids are home you could tell a white lie and say you taking a parcel in for a neighbour then sneak it up loft when kids in bed

Ihearthickson · 18/09/2016 08:18

And this £5.99 instead of £29.99 www.thetoyshop.com/dolls-soft-toys/electronic-pets/Cloud-Pets-36cm-Interactive-Soft-Toy---Unicorn/p/528012

Shestoodinthestorm I bought both for my dd when she was 3 and it was too young. She broke and lost a lot of it (and I had already removed the very small pieces) she is 6 now and I would say that it's only been the last year or so that she has been able to properly play with either toys.

That's by the by though, if I was going to choose one over the other for a 3yr old I'd buy sylvanians (and take out the teeny tiny bits) and they will be able to play with the figures and the furniture etc just fine!

But they are expensive and I'm not sure that you get your money's worth for them at 3!! (Buy dulplo Wink)

RubyFlint · 18/09/2016 08:28

Selfie thanks for the unicorn link (I think!). I thought DH wouldn't approve but he was totally up for it and it didn't take much to convince me, I'm a life long teddy lover.

It has now occurred to me in the cold light of day that this life size unicorn will be most likely still be with us when DD(6) is 16, 26, 36... To add to the excitement, it's her birthday within a few days of Christmas. And there I was wondering how to make space in her bedroom for the December toy festival. Oops!

itsonlysubterfuge · 18/09/2016 08:34

shestood You could maybe try your DD with some Playmobil blind bags and see if she likes them? They are BOGOF at Tesco right now, so you'd get 2 figures for £2. If she likes them, you could get more.

I'm going to have to disagree with Oreo though. DD has been playing with Playmobil since she was 2 and has never broken any of them. When she was 2 we got her the Playmobil Arc (which is half price at Argo's) and it doesn't really have any fiddly bits. She plays with her Arc in the bath all the time. She has just turned 4 in July and got more fiddly bits and plays with them very nicely.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 18/09/2016 08:36

Oreo that's really helpful, thank you!
Would definitely take the smaller pieces out. She has happy land but seems to have outgrown it, there isn't enough to it. Will take a look at duplo!
I have the opportunity to buy some second hand SF but need to decide this weekend!

I am loving all of these massive unicorns!! Please someone post a photo of the box!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 18/09/2016 08:39

Thanks itsonly

I know she will probably love either. She keeps pretend playing with happy land figures/toys/teddies etc about going to people's houses or the park etc. I'm leaning towards Playmobil for the diversity (really want the playground that's half price but out of stock all near me) but have the opportunity to buy some second hand SF.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 18/09/2016 08:40

I went with playmobil for my DDs last year, they were 3 & 4 and they love it. Gave thread baby the bargain pirate chest yesterday and she was pleased. I decided on playmobil over SF as it seems to be more reasonable price and the bargains pop up a bit more!

BrollySmolly · 18/09/2016 08:48

Just looking at that enormous unicorn sends me in to a cold sweat! Shock

We have one of these from build a bear last year - I did it on a 2 for £24 with a friend, so was a good deal.

The white company 20% sale ends today. Just saw these baby/toddler slippers. Too cute. Shame I don't have any babies to buy for.

Humidseptember · 18/09/2016 09:01

but we forget sometimes you need toys for the soul too and this definitely has been a huge comfort and love for her
agree but I have TWO DD'S Shock one each for the comfort and love or will one be big enough to love both Grin

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 18/09/2016 09:02

Thanks smurfy and wutangflan for the code.
I'm still having bother with my Lakeland order- it's not taking any discount off Christmas stock even when added to basket and no mention of the discount on the site either- is there a code to enter??
Loving the ginormous unicorn purchases!! There'll be some happy posties around this week delivering those! Grin

Humidseptember · 18/09/2016 09:05

P.s.the humongous IKEA shark is also a showstopper under the tree £15

^ great but why^ a bloody shark, cant they make a sweeter looking giant toy?????

Rosie29 · 18/09/2016 09:08

Thanks for unicorn link, grab life by the (unicorn) horn and get one!
Delivery of stuff form dotcomgiftshop arrived and all looks great, lots of stocking fillers.

Rosie29 · 18/09/2016 09:10

Does anyone actually know where you get the giant shark from? No IKEA near me and not available online, my ds would love it!

Humidseptember · 18/09/2016 09:13

On the very much a plus side- can you imagine their little faces waking up in the early hours with a big Christmas unicorn staring back

Another agnoising decision you have thrown up there! If I buy one/two have it downstairs under tree or as you say on the bed!

Humidseptember · 18/09/2016 09:15

The pleasure of watching the joy on their faces and the horror an SIL and BILs faces would almost make the two hour car journey with two unicorns strapped to the roof of the car worth it.

Grin grin] I wish we had such a great aunt to buy them to be honest Grin take the descion out of my hands.

RubyFlint · 18/09/2016 09:21

Could be worse
