I am tempted by the thorntons too... Think I might order a few different things rather than 5 of the same in the hope some will have longer dates? Not quite sure of my logic there! If not then I can prob gift them before Xmas for bdays etc as long as dates aren't stupidly short. No danger of me eating them all anyway as I'm dairy free ATM!! Sad

d270r0 · 08/09/2016 13:44

My laser pegs rocket arrived and looks really good, although obviously haven't opened it yet.
Also thanks for the heads up about the boots sanctuary set, I actually bought it as a treat for myself!

Was in Lidl today and they were giving away a free stikeez (small alien toy that sticks onto things in a blind bag) free with every £10 spent. (Although I only spent £10 but the man gave me 3!)

user1470840482 · 08/09/2016 13:57

I got the Lego it was from the Lego store direct , £10 off a £40 spend with a free gift however you need to pay delivery :(

I think it was play pennies that shared it will try and find the code .

user1470840482 · 08/09/2016 13:59

Yep it was play pennies , cannot link on phone but code is GB10 on the Lego store website .

Large AG dolls are over £120 on Amazon (they are $120 to buy new) Our generation dolls are different to AG. Hopefully your daughter will not know the difference, my daughter did (all due to YouTube) I refused to buy initially as she was 8 and not into dolls.she saved her own money and bought at 9. They are worth every money IMO as she plays with them all and she's nearly 11 now. She's used her imagination to make furniture etc for them as can't buy much over here for the most.

Theonlyoneiknow · 08/09/2016 14:14

Yes. Playpennies! Now I remember where I saw it. I will go and have a look. Thanks for reminding me Flowers

graduatedbob · 08/09/2016 14:14

Joining the thread for another year... thanks for all the bargains suggested already. Has anyone seen any decent offers on beer delivery club type gifts eg flavourly / beer 52 etc? Have had a search but haven't found anything.

NeedingMotivation · 08/09/2016 14:29

Thanks so much to all on here - I've been able to get some great bargains for DD and DS who both have birthdays this month. Flowers

I haven't managed to catch up with the thread so apologies if this is already posted but I've had info about 15% off the Christmas range at Lakeland:

Go to Lakeland sneak peak and apparently the 15% discount will be automatically applied. It's valid until 30th September.

WuTangFlan · 08/09/2016 14:39

Clinton cards on our high street is selling off its Christmas wrapping paper at 3 rolls for £1 and 4 rolls of ribbon for £1. I've got 9 rolls and 8 metres of ribbon for £4...

Also, Wilko have gorgeous grey throws/blankets for £5. I'm attempting to make my own shark blanket out of it... adapting this

WuTangFlan · 08/09/2016 14:43

Found the Wilko blanket online here - I note they have a cheaper grey fleece one for £3 but it's out of stock. The £5 one is sooooo soft though... I'm going to butcher some old clothes to get material to make teeth, eyes, etc.

WuTangFlan · 08/09/2016 14:51

I've just rung Thorntons to ask how far out their best before dates tend to be when you order boxes online; helpful lady tells me it's 6-8 weeks.

Ratbagcatbag · 08/09/2016 14:53

Just ordered the beer hawk ale advent calendar. 24 bottles of full size beers. All different brands and strengths. Should be £75 with free delivery but on 7% cash back through quidco and a further £10 off by quoting advent10. Works out around £2.50 per bottle. Ideal for my dh. :)

RJnomore1 · 08/09/2016 15:04

6-8 weeks is nothing for chocolate is it.

LostMyRubySlippers · 08/09/2016 16:11

wutang that is helpful thanks, although the answer is less so!!- don't think I'll be ordering any yet

LostMyRubySlippers · 08/09/2016 16:13

I would think 6 wks would be quite a short date even if you were buying them to give to someone immediately..?!

user1471499267 · 08/09/2016 16:22

I bought some chocolates from Thornton's today, christmasy ones and they're all at least best before August 2017.

RoastieToastieReastie · 08/09/2016 16:31

Thorntons ones tend to have a really long life ime, months and months.

Was that instore or online?

featherpillow · 08/09/2016 16:34

Rosie I have sent you a pm with a Next code.
Let me know if its any use to you.

FireflyGirl · 08/09/2016 16:34

Thanks thetime, ordered for DS! He didn't really need it, but he'll enjoy it Grin

If anyone else looked at the tie fighter tents but they were out of stock locally and wouldn't deliver, they're the same price on halfords ebay with free click and collect. That's how I had to do it.

CwtchyQ · 08/09/2016 16:45

ratbag that's an amazing gift, my DH will love it! Do you know how long the code is valid for?

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/09/2016 17:01

Trespass seems to have a good 80% sale in store. I got some great lamb wooly slippers for £4.04 today for dd. They're so cute. They had crocodile ones too.

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/09/2016 17:06

Doesn't seem to be online but these: www.trespass.com/sootie-girls-slipper-boots

GooodMythicalMorning · 08/09/2016 17:07

Actually not sure they're lambs but still cute...
