Ned - My 9 and 12 year old have the normal kindle fires for a few years and they have been good although 12 year old is now asking for an iPad Hmm

cookiefiend · 06/09/2016 21:18

If anyone is in costo apparently (HUKD) the Lego advent calendars are £15.58 including VAT.

cookiefiend · 06/09/2016 21:37

You can find some good Amazon prices here on camel camel camel. Select biggest relative price drops and update list then you will see some of the things on offer. Today is a bit rubbish, but sometime good things crop up.

Thanks YellowHat I've never heard of tummy stuffers. Have you seen one in RL? Just wondering how big they are.

LittleReindeer he he too true!

This is the first time in years that I'm actually enjoying Christmas shopping..feeling super organised and with the warm glow of every bargain bagged.

So far I've bought a shark bed, Knex roller coaster, boden kids PJ's and slippers, Lost Book, and a stash of stuff from gift shop dotcom. Thank you everyone, fab thread Flowers. Oh and no razor yet but I'm tempted...

RubyFlint · 06/09/2016 22:23

Oh and last year I bought one of those Turkish ham am beach towels and have just spent a summer using it and it looked fab and dries really quick.

Sweetdreamsaremadeofthis · 06/09/2016 22:44

Looking for a slush puppy machine if anyone seea any reasonably priced give me a shout thanks

BumpKitty · 06/09/2016 23:28

Studio is selling the little people Klip Klop princess stable for £17.99 here it's £28 on Amazon and £25 on bargainmax so seems like a pretty good offer. There are free delivery codes around too, I added wrapping paper and a cupcake dress up outfit for £1.99 to my order to bring it up to £20.00 - free P&P code was 040.

neddle last year I went out on Black Friday to John lewis to get the reduced Kid's Kindle Fires. They were price matching amazon...

They were all out of them by the time I got there. They did have some other tablets reduced. I got the next cheapest one - it was an LG 8 and was about £60 instead of about £160. That meant it was about £15 more than the cheap kindle should have been - but actually was worth much more and a much nicer, lighter, better tablet. So worth considering something along those lines if you can plan out some bargains at places like JL or Currys or Argos on Black Friday?

Although it doesn't have the subscription stuff on it, as tablets go, it was much lighter than the kindle, I have bought a reasonably robust case (kids currently 8 and 11 and it's fine for them). It also has a memory card slot. And for the price it was a great android tablet (think it has kid's controls on but I've never used, there are apps out there that you can use too).

Hope you are OK vinoFlowers

I suspect we are working for the same employer. Our night team is currently safe....for the time being.

Strawberryfield12 · 07/09/2016 06:09

Vino that's crap! But don't give up and for Christmas you will have shiny new job, much better than the current one.

Nursenat100 · 07/09/2016 07:23

Ok I've got myself confused with the mermaid blankets...have we established which are the best and sizing? I need to buy for. 6, 13, 17 year old!

SolomanDaisy · 07/09/2016 07:50

Amazon have a really good 4 kids books for £10 offer. There's a choice of nearly 700 books, and a lot of it is fairly new release like Jonny Duddle. Probably stuff for birth to seven, though I didn't get all the way through the list!

TobleroneBoo · 07/09/2016 08:07

nursenat where are you buying from? I have been skimming over the mermaid blanket talk, but saw a little girl I buy for on Sunday and she is shark obsessed so she may like a mermaid blanket

TobleroneBoo · 07/09/2016 09:29

Oh my god really Smurfy? I might get myself one in that case!!

wornoutboots · 07/09/2016 09:34

clicking around on amazon there are loads of motion sand sets reduced

Stillunexpected · 07/09/2016 09:48

Watch out for the free delivery on Mountain Warehouse though, not a Christmas gift but wanted to replace an umbrella from there which I lost, went onto the site and the umbrella which was £3.99 or £4.99 consistently (can't remember which) for some time is now £9.99!

On another note, would recommend the Sanctuary With Love gift set (£19.00) which someone mentioned yesterday. Picked up mine a few days ago and it is huge, definitely value for money. I am not using it as a gift but for myself and it will be providing cheap showering and face care for a while! Was even better value last week as they had £5 off so actually got it for under £15!

Darkswan · 07/09/2016 09:58

TobleroneBoo. You can get quite a few different shark blankets. It looks like the shark is eating you. I think they are cool. Maybe an idea for boys? Or girls who like mermaids/don't like sharks

GerrardWinstanley · 07/09/2016 10:08

nursery and toblerone
I've had three knitted mermaids blankets from here and they've all been fab. Children's ones are on the small side but then my DDs are very tall. There's a length given on the listing for each blanket so I'd go from that. Got a 200cm length adult one for the 9yo and 150cm length for the 6yo.

Also fleece shark tail
