I do it every year, I think I'm done getting presents and then without fail I panic and get more.
Last year I went out on the 23rd and bought minions, this year already I've bought extra beanie hats for the men in my family and an air hockey table as a joint present for my dc

Anyone else do this?

I couldn't get my presents that early, like you say I don't know in January what dcs want. Some things they've asked for (disney infinity 2/skylanders trapteam) didn't come out until sept/October.

I start buying in September after the children go back to school. The Christmas toys are usually released around this time and the children have a good idea of what they want.
Anyway couldn't resist buying stretchkins for dd4 and ds7

I got really neutral if you like things back in sales...a voice changer, which isnt going to go out of fashion, she liked it in science museum shop....I know she will like it at xmas....things like sticker books, djeco pens, art sets, card games, all these things will be used and loved, brain games - rush hour, princess castle quiz.....or stuff like sparkly hair accessories...all massively reduced and will be appreciated...books and so on.

I have twitched on 3 items...

I just twitched and ordered some clothes for the DCs. But they were all free as I used my clubcard vouchers, and clothes don't count right?

Just twitched and ordered the hornby mallard as it was on a lightening deal on amazon. Its ds 7 favourite train and he is going to be so pleased. Also ordered a gizmo for ds age 2 because he loves his sisters one.

I am using a last minute opportunity tomorrow to twitch and see what Skylanders/traps off DS1's list I can get hold of.

Will I also find some baby Annabel clothes and /or football kit for DD/DS2...?!

Oh and I'm rather hoping M&S have one of their gold rings chocolate cakes left for me

I twitched today.After tweaking (read adding to) my list a few days ago to prevent last minute twitching.Oops

It's only an (adults) Japanese art colouring book, set of decent watercolour pencils to go with it and Mr Nosey and the Beanstalk book (fun stocking filler guaranteed to raise laughter,) though,for ds.So with it being smallish activity things and a book,it doesn't really count,right?

Pretty sure stocking fillers don't count

I still have to remember chocolate coins as I haven't bought any - after the whole Cadburys thing I haven't felt inclined but I suppose I should for traditions sake.

I am going to run the risk of last minute shopping without having fully assessed what I've already got - tonight's job, but I was tired and didn't feel like it, oops!

Ooh,you mentioning Cadburys has just reminded me ds really wants one of those mini Cadbury machine money box thingys,remember them?

Ok have made it to Argos - got wallop and set of traps for ds1.

Twitched yesterday bought a hex bug set, 2 dr who figures and a lego chima book for ds 7, plus a tutu dress from tk maxx for dd 4 and a police car mini night light for ds 2. I really should stop but I'm going to swansea tomorrow and have reserved lots from toys r us.

Twitched and bought fluffy socks and new pans for all the dc. The pants are needed though anyway.

Also a frilly tutu skirt in h&m for dd.

And got some chocolate coins phew.

Now sound some food shopping as DH is unwell so he's written me a list.

Leaving dc behind with him in case I see anything I 'need' to get!

Bought chocolate teddies for the dc to go with the fluffy socks for a mini party we're going to tomorrow - all the parents bring along a small gift for their own dc.

Think that's it for me. Blood donation later, work tomorrow then party then it's Christmas Eve and I'll try to avoid all shops!

I was incredibly organized and sensible and went to Aldi today - got a normal food shop, Xmas veg, wine and some other bits for Christmas. Ever so efficient, I was.

But I'm off to Waitrose tomorrow morning to get my Xmas meat and some treats and I can feel a food twitch coming on.

Waitrose food twitches tend to end up costing about an additional £100 on top of what you intended to spend, though, don't they?

I twitched today on a lovely blouse for my Mum. She never treats herself and I think she will like it. Just realised I don't think I have got selection boxes or satsumas yet!

Dh is twitching like a birder on scilly(In joke, sorry) despite saying that (grown up) dc have got enough he was running round hmv like a nutter. He was suppressed.
I, however, am going to m&s food, sainsbos, lidl and b&m tomorrow. Twitchy twitchy twitch.
(Oh and I didn't get Dh a t shirt on Friday last orders.)

Twitched like crazy and bought a wooden police car (loves police cars) , a peppa pig grandmas Weebles house and a tshirt from the swansea store for ds 2. Another monster high doll, tea set and a dress for dd 4. Plus doctor who figure set, twelfth doctors screwdriver, dr who MR potato heads, 2 character building dr who sets and lights and sound Dalek and cyberman oh and a tshirt for ds 7. Just sent dh to tesco for 2 DVDs that's it all done no more.
