I do it every year, I think I'm done getting presents and then without fail I panic and get more.
Last year I went out on the 23rd and bought minions, this year already I've bought extra beanie hats for the men in my family and an air hockey table as a joint present for my dc Hmm

Anyone else do this? Smile

Just twitched and bought DD a game for her Leappad tablet which are usually ridiculously overpriced hence she only has one extra game for it Got it half price at Argos

It's definitely not a full-on twitch if its a good bargain Grin

TeWiSavesTheDay · 03/12/2014 13:01

DS had the chicken pox so ended up giving him one of his Christmas gifts to cheer him up - so then I had to buy another gift to replace it, but then I twitched and bought all the DC an extra gift, and then DS still needed another one...

Must turn off the internet and save us all.

atticusclaw · 03/12/2014 13:06

I twitched yesterday and bought skylanders characters in the argos 2 for 3 deal.

I also bought some spiderman slipper socks (but they were only 85p)

Waitingonasunnyday · 03/12/2014 13:08

I've unsubscribed to lots of emails in an attempt to stave off the twitch. I am not really sure it will work...

Twitching with a Little Live Bird that DD saw and fell in love with

Have already twitched with Christmas Eve PJs, but we always do those anyway

fuzzpig · 03/12/2014 18:53

I keep seeing more things I would love to buy! I don't really get anything for the DCs through the year so tend to go a bit nuts... not massive things as we are on a fairly low budget, so no gadgets or 'big ticket' items, but still Blush

My parents and grandma always give me some money for Xmas presents though, as they don't like choosing/shopping for gifts themselves, so usually I allocate what I've already chosen, which works well.

Zazzabeans · 03/12/2014 19:02

im finished but there is ALWAYS some last minute twitching Grin

Iamblossom · 03/12/2014 19:05

I have just twitched. And got the dc a pop music cd each. Amazon is a dangerous thing.

JingleSpud · 03/12/2014 19:55

I had my first twitch today! I'm not actually done with presents but I'm still classing it as a twitch because it was something I'd considered but decided against for this year... and then I saw a lovely cheap one in Hobbycraft (even though I told myself I'd be good and only buy the cardboard I went in for...). It was a kids' manga drawing guide for my 7yo.

Oh no hang on, we confirmed books don't count didn't we? That's ok then.

:o

I've been walking around with a swagger, all pleased, boasting that I have stuck to my budget...

bloody twitch.

£35 on plastic tat this morning and I keep looking at snuggly clothing on Next...

marne2 · 05/12/2014 12:20

Oops, just twitched a little, Yankee candle are giving away a free pair of wick trimmers when you spend £20, my friend mentioned she needed some so I bought her a candle, a few candles for me and got the free wick trimmer Grin, had to be done.

traviata · 05/12/2014 14:31

I twitched on decorations and flowers.

I popped into Sainsbos for some bread and came out with a bouquet of festive greenery and berries, two pheasant decorations, a reduced red begonia, and a bottle of room spray.

JKSLtd · 05/12/2014 19:45

I am a serial twitcher too - I blame you lot on MN though! Grin

I'm planning to sort out DC presents on Monday when I have a day off and they're all at school - I'm hoping to find out that I've already finished shopping and have no need to even look at another website or shop...!Hmm

mum2jakie · 05/12/2014 21:52

Just twitched on the Minecraft Blockapedia book mentioned on another thread. It looks amazing!

fuzzpig · 06/12/2014 00:24

I'm glad my DCs don't play minecraft yet as there is sooo much cool minecraft stuff I'd be twitching over :o is it wrong that I kind of want a cuddly creeper and minecraft lego despite never having played it?! Blush

Ordered blockopedia Xmas Blush
Looks lovely and ds will love it.
Used code to get it for £12.75 so feel a bit better.
Also ordered another skylander that has appeared on his santa letter...

toptrumps1 · 06/12/2014 14:40

I guess this is a relevant thread to ask this (and I love the term "twitch" by the way!)....

I often see on FB or here, or even IRL people who buy all their xmas presents in the January sales, or the summer sales, or have all their presents wrapped and ready by the end of, say, September....to those people who are that organised, do they really, really not cave nearer the time and buy more? If its childrens presents, how do they know what their child will like in months to come, or what new thing will be launched that will be the new must-have toy?

I can totally see the good sense in grabbing a bargain, and being really organised, but I just can't believe the system doesn't result in more being spent in the end...does anyone know anyone who doesn't "twitch" in the last few days of December??

HoHoHappyHolidays · 06/12/2014 15:41

I have twitched and bought DH a present from the DC. Not from me though :)
