There's a online store called Typical Dutch stuff who export all things Dutch, but I think they're quite pricey norm

waithorse · 06/10/2014 22:49

I've also not bought anything from Aliexpress. I'd rather buy from a trusted sauce. Even, if the products are no different. I might be being naive but there you go.

herecomesthsun · 06/10/2014 22:53

stroopwafel also Waitrose sells something similar, didn't know that was the real name

MaddHatter · 06/10/2014 22:56

I'm not the only worrier then! Grin

shufflebum · 06/10/2014 23:00

Any ideas for an adult scooter for DH please, a desperate attempt to stop him using his children's mini micros!

2 questions which I'm positive have been answered before

  1. Are the disney toddler soft anna and Elsa dolls nice? Dd loves a little cuddly thing in bed so wondering if they're good or a waste of money?
  2. Do disney store ever do discounts?

Also, I saw in tesco today they have little disney princess figures - about the size of a happy land figure for £3 each which I thought would be nice as a stocking filler?

Also for cheap personalised stuff including football teams and frozen I've been using Webb creations on Facebook. They also do Christmas things like little plaques etc and lots of nice stocking filler type things or stuff for teacher presents.

Oh and I'm amazed I'm not the only aliexpress non subscriber

Titsalina - I will look into the baileys thing for you - so a baileys coffee creamer? Will pm you if any luck. I may know someone who might have insider knowledge!!

Picturesinthefirelight · 07/10/2014 00:02

I think I know what you mean.

Years ago as a student I used to buy dh (then d boyfriend) baileys coffee cream jiggers from Morrisons.

Dd wants some straighteners for Xmas. I want decent ones but that she won't burn herself on. The budget doesn't run to GHDs.

Anyone know of any decent straighteners on offer anywhere?

ISpyPlumPie · 07/10/2014 00:08

Thanks to everyone who mentioned the Tesco earlybird sale. Just got DS2 the Playmobil 123 zoo for £20

izzybizzybuzzybees · 07/10/2014 00:36

Just got the playmobil zoo for £12 as I had tesco vouchers sitting that I always forget about! Yay! Thanks :)

PamelaEwing · 07/10/2014 06:13

306 I'm also not able to buy from Ali Express having seen a Panorama programme once about the dangers of cheap and possibly unsafe and uncertified toys from china. It gave me the heebie jeebies Shock I know I'm missing out on some great bargains but I'm a total worrywart too!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 07/10/2014 07:00

I've not got anything from Ali either, so there's a few of us!

PinkAndBlueBedtimeBears · 07/10/2014 07:03

Was in asda yesterday and they had some frozen (fairly girly looking) beanbags for £20. Sounds expensive but it's actually really good value for a good sized beanbag so bought one for my 2yo who has no idea what frozen is!! frozen bean bag

TrisisFour · 07/10/2014 07:23

So... the Aliexpress situation. The only things I've bought from there are the Plush toys and clothes. As DD is 5 and is way past has never been into putting things in her mouth, is it safe to assume that what I've got is Ok? Clothing wise I've bought a Frozen Nightie and Swimming Costume and DD already has one of each of these from a friend who got them from Aliexpress and they've been fine. So it's just the plush toys I'm thinking about... Looks like they're 'seconds' from the Disney Shop...

Please tell me they will be OK!

MTWTFSS · 07/10/2014 07:39

Vtech Kidizoom Smart Watch now £20 at Argos

98percentchocolate · 07/10/2014 07:40

Thanks for all of the links - moving house next week though so trying to resist ordering too much!
My local TK Maxx (Southampton) had lots of the Brio toys heavily discounted when I went in last week - there was a whole end of an aisle for them. Definitely worth a look in stores.

OldJacksScarf · 07/10/2014 07:48

ASDA wooden kitchen is back in stock for £40. I've spent weeks waiting for it to reappear so thought I'd share.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 07/10/2014 07:51

Another one here too scared to buy toys from Aliexpress Confused

NormHonal · 07/10/2014 07:53

Thanks CallingAllEngels. I might pin my hopes on Hema and plan a trip there in late November.

I'm also looking for a bargainous Kidizoom Smart Watch in blue (yes am fussy). Got the white one for £20 but really want the blue one for another child. The white and pink ones have come down to £20 or thereabouts already, hopefully the blue one will too!

NormHonal · 07/10/2014 07:55

I bought the Anna coronation dress from eBay from a Chinese seller recommended on here (by GirlWithTheYellowHat) and it is lovely.

Not sure I would buy any toys though.

PinkSquash · 07/10/2014 07:57

Kidizoom watch is OOS. I don't really need it but at that price, bargain!

FernArable · 07/10/2014 07:59

Titsalina this is unhelpful but the Baileys coffee creamer is delicious, unfortunately I've only ever seen it in the US. I'll only drink coffee with ridiculously creamy, sugary creamer in and have never found it over here at all.
Lots of Emma Bridgewater stationary and a Kipling Gracy bag coming up on Amazon deals of the day today.

Tapdancingelephant · 07/10/2014 08:07

Zulily have some good prices on Wonderland Trix Track marble runs today. They are wooden, and well made. We have a couple of sets already.
