All the Christmas themed party bag loot type stuff is appearing on Amazon and ebay now. £20 later and I have filled up 3 advent calendars (we have home made ones we fill ourselves) with Christmas stampers, pop up toys and miniature dinosaurs. Ok so the dinosaurs are not quite so Christmassy Grin.

3pigs I have 4dds aged between 2 and 7 (8 by Christmas) and I don't spend the same on them. Dd4 won't know the difference still, and dd2 will be getting an Isla bike, so I will be spending way more on her than all the others. They just don't know it! As long as their present bags look as full as each others (that's all down to clever present placement), then they are fine. I'm sure as they move into teenage years and they get the monetary value of the presents, it will be different. But then they won't be believers anymore and it will all come down to equal value.

zipzap we have stopped doing the SP shoeboxes for that very reason. When DS was younger and everyone at school was doing it I went along with it. Now he's older and can understand my reasoning.

Funnily enough we had a long conversation about it yesterday (he always traps me while I'm driving so am a captive audience :o) I was really impressed with his insight and we have decided together that we will buy stuff to the same value (realistically I guess we must spend about £10-£15 per box) and donate it to our local food bank :)

Highfivethatfart · 12/10/2014 15:31

No idea about the Frozen stuff people seem to be talking about as my DS's aren't into it however The Entertainer website has stuff on sale. You can arrange for click and collect which may be better than trying to get basket full of £40 bit and bobs to achieve free delivery.

Iam what sort of bits did you buy? I'm thinking of doing bits in advent calendar this year rather than chocolate....

IAmAPaleontologist · 12/10/2014 16:09

I got packs of stampers like these and other bits and bobs. Basically rootling through all the party bag type stuff to find the ones that sold the most for the least amount of money Blush. these are the dinosaurs. You can get packs of mini farmm animals, arctic ones, jungle ones and so on. I was very tempted by a tube of penguins.

IAmAPaleontologist · 12/10/2014 16:10

Last year we needed more baubles for the tree so I got them in advance and used those for the calendars. Alternated bauble and sweetie each day.
