GORILLA POD UPDATE

For those who took out the camera magazine subscription for the free Gorilla Pod.

Mine turned up today. Finally. Only it wasn't a Gorilla Pod. It was a tiny, crappy remote control. Clearly they had run out of the Pods and had substituted it with the tiniest remote control in the world. Just what am i supposed to do with it? What is its purpose?

I'm annoyed. There goes my dad's present. Off to cancel the DD now.

RhondaJean · 10/12/2013 23:10

I can see THANK YOU! for some dimerising I never thought of looking on eBay. I've been all over amazon and only found the Spode Xmas tree ones which are too grown up and pricey.

Those ones are perfect.

stripes1 · 10/12/2013 23:18

Candence, it didn't work for me when I tried to order an extra book I'd forgotten but RUMBA did work for free delivery, no idea how long it's valid for but I only spent £3.39 so it works on any value order.

TheOneWithTheHair · 10/12/2013 23:25

I need more help please.

Dh and I have decided that we need a tree for the living room. We will have a real one in the kitchen but due to redecorating we don't want a real one in the living room.

I need a bargainous tree that doesn't necessarily have to look real. I feel that if it's going to be fake, it's ok to look it.

I didn't pay attention to where people got trees from on earlier threads so any help gratefully received.

motherofluvlies · 10/12/2013 23:38

badvocatyuletide oh I just knew it !I,m not handy but how are you doing the rest of the costume?i have been deliberating for some time but not sure what to do...we love it here, especially relevant that although he is the smallest hiccup is thehero.

zipzap · 10/12/2013 23:39

Reastie I like the Mum's Family Calendar - it's not particularly smart or beautiful but it is a good organising calendar if you like to have columns for each person, plus lots of stickers to highlight special days and random other days...

I have had them for several years now and one of the reasons I like them is that they are nice and clear so easy to see the dates on, plus they have simple jolly cartoons on that make me smile. I used to get the organised mum ones but found that they were all very bland pastel and pale and grown up. I had to get close up to them to see them, you couldn't look at them easily across the room to see a date.

It's much nicer to see something that makes you smile everyday than something that makes you think of how old grown up and busy you are, even if the two things are essentially doing the same thing.

And of course it helps that the family calendar has a third off whilst the organised mum one is full price Grin.

If I was just going for aesthetics rather than practicality of a calendar I'd go for a favourite photographer or some of the amazing natural world pictures that are out there...

Happy to help Rhonda Xmas Smile.

BeaWheesht · 10/12/2013 23:56

In B&M they had 12 packs of mini angry bird plush toys for £4.99 which I thought was bargainous.

Blockbusters near us are also selling off stock at 70% discount, I got 4 DVDs, a wii game and a load of batteries for £11

Asda had the smallest dolls house with furniture set for £10 today and the Chou Chou doll for £6. They also had 3 DVDs for £20.

BeaWheesht · 10/12/2013 23:57

Angry birds were £5.99 sorry

IHeartKingThistle · 11/12/2013 00:03

Reastie I have asked for the Rob Ryan calendar for Christmas. Very beautiful!

raisah · 11/12/2013 04:38

TheOneawiththeHair try Argos & Sainsburys for christmas trees. Most places have reduced their trees and decorations so you should be able to pick up a bargain.

stripes1 · 11/12/2013 07:34

Book people code for free delivery = SANTA if RUMBA or LUCKY13 don't work for you.

Reastie · 11/12/2013 07:42

Thanks for calendar help. I really like the Rob Ryan one Iheart , am tempted but not sure if the squares are big enough to write stuff in [thinks] . Maybe I'll end out having to do something less beautiful but more useful like zipzaps idea....but I really want a beautiful one...

hair I went in homebase the other day and they had all their artificial trees half price.
