Thanks Kissme. I need to go and get cinema vouchers today and blockbuster is next door so I will try there!

SpottyChristmasCakes · 11/12/2013 09:52

I'M WRAPPING!!

notsomuchroomattheinn · 11/12/2013 09:58

IcanseetheseefromherePoundland used to do a hdmi cable.
I love that Rob Ryan calendar. DH usually gets a Marvel or Weenicons one maybe it's my turn to choose one!

TheOneWithTheHair · 11/12/2013 10:02

Thanks for the tree help. It seems leaving it to the last minute has helped this time. Xmas Smile

ElfOnTheShelf · 11/12/2013 10:22

Thanks to those who answered my minecraft Q above Thanks. Not sure the Redstone book is in my DD league, it looks quite advanced. Think I'll just stick with the beginners one however on checking Amazon it's out of stock but I can order it but not sure it'll arrive in time for Xmas Sad

Love the price though so it's worth ordering as long as I actually pay that price - anyone know if that isn't the case if a discounted book is out of stock?

No Bodyshop Glamour mag freebies here either and it's been nearly 3mths.

BuddyKringleberry · 11/12/2013 10:26

So today is off to a splendidly bargainious start. I woke to a text from Ocado saying my delivery was on its way with no items missing. I was so worried the out of stock items meant I would still have five more kids to buy for, but they've come up trumps.

And elc have the happyland funfair back down to £20. I called up as I couldn't use my genuine birthday club code online so she did it manually and gave me free home delivery for the princely sum of £16.

it is still a bargain if you ^technically^ didn't need it, isn't it?

Excellent service today from Ocado and ELC x

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 11/12/2013 10:31

Thanks to the SANTA code I have just got more bookclub bargains (although gutted the Alice collection is cheaper than when I ordered it last night!). Going on a bear hunt family planner for £3!!!!

Mellowandfruitful · 11/12/2013 10:32

Coveredinweetabix I agree about the niceness of Tesco's Christmas jumpers. DS's is also very soft and looks great.

Anybody got a Next discount code for buying online, by any chance?

SpicedTeaAndXmasCakeOrDeath · 11/12/2013 10:35

My body shop freebies haven't turned u either yet

bettythebuilder · 11/12/2013 10:43

Don't think I'm repeating, but soz if I am, email from Mumsnet yesterday

"Mumsnetters can now get exclusive free delivery on all orders from the Book People.
Use code AFMUMSN at the checkout. Offer valid until 16 December."

Thanks for the link to the English translation of the 11-in-1 survival tool, dh has been watching in bewilderment as parcels arrive from Hong Kong and China (rose lights, owl pendant, light up shoe laces, monkey nail dryer to name just 4 Xmas Blush ) so would not have been surprised at the instructions being in Chinese - he's on to me!

SunshineAndPeardrops · 11/12/2013 10:45

Oreocrumbs would any of these things be suitable? Maybe the wooden model bus?

theladywiththegreennails · 11/12/2013 10:46

Has anyone seen tins of chocs, roses etc for £4? Also Barry m nail varnish 3 4 2? Thanks

neddle · 11/12/2013 10:55

AFCAROLS for 5% off at The Book People - £40 minimum spend

trikken · 11/12/2013 10:59

MooseyMoo · 11/12/2013 11:03

Boots are doing 12 days of Christmas offers. Today (day two) is £10 off £60 spend.

Prizepudding · 11/12/2013 11:04

Aldi had tins of quality street for £3.99, otherwise tesco had them at £4.50 and everywhere else £5 at the moment.

MooseyMoo · 11/12/2013 11:04

mellow next don't do codes Xmas Sad

zipzap · 11/12/2013 11:07

Seeing all these minecraft posts has made me wonder if it would be suitable for ds1 - he's 8 and loves computer games and just doing things on the computer.

Is it appropriate for an 8 yr old or should he be older? I'd always assumed it was for older kids but seeing there are annuals I'm thinking maybe not. And what's the best way of getting started - is there a program to buy or is it just on the internet or a downloadable thing... [being deliberately vague as I don't really know what I'm asking!]

Thanks in advance

SpottyChristmasCakes · 11/12/2013 11:16

I got my body shop stuff! Really impressed with it. Might keep the lip balm Smile

trikken · 11/12/2013 11:17

zipzap I think it is fine for an 8 year old. Its mainly just building stuff. A few creepers (zombie type things) to avoid. Only prob is it is addictive so we have a time limit in this house.

trikken · 11/12/2013 11:20

You can download it if u have an xbox360 etc or buy it if you have a pc or laptop. Depends what you have really.

stripes1 · 11/12/2013 11:35

WINTER for 10% off book people is working with the sale items.

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 11/12/2013 11:40

Ds paid to download a minecraft game onto the computer. I think you can also get versions for playstations etc.

ElfOnTheShelf · 11/12/2013 11:42

Just phoned Glamour to ask about Bodyshop free gift and it's now restocked (as of 2nd Dec) and there's a big backlog of orders so I should get it by 4th January no good for a Christmas present then . Didn't have the nerve to then cancel my subscription so chickened out Blush Did cancel with Company magazine though and they were fine about it and could see I'd cancelled with my bank from my end already!!

Minecraft fine for 8yr old zipzap especially the creative version as it's just building. DD doesn't like survival mode as hates to kill creepers etc so just does creative. Approx £16 to buy from a PC download but it's a one off payment.

kiwidreamer · 11/12/2013 11:49

Reastie if you are still looking for a Calendar and like the Going on a Bear Hunt family calendar then PM me and I'll send you one as a massive Thank You for managing this thread for us all... I got three for £5.40 in a weird Book People glitch, one for me and one for a friend but third one is yet to be assigned...

www.amazon.co.uk/Were-Going-Family-Organiser-Calendar/dp/0857757539/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386762514&sr=8-1&keywords=bear+hunt+calendar+2014

It is also absolutely fine if you don't like the look of it, its a bit kiddy-ish :)
