Thanks for all the suggestions re. Sex and the City!

I was in poundland today and they had huge gift bags made to look like santa sacks for a pound (obviously). They were pretty good actually, I am tempted to go back and buy a few for present transportation.

What's the best price anyone's seen on The Great Gatsby DVD? It's £9.99 on Amazon and I don't need it but now I want it! That is quite a good offer, isn't it?

And has anyone by any chance seen a bargainous poker set? I don't know what's wrong with my family, I've been asking for months what they wanted and have been just about to order them bargains when they've all put in last minute, non-bargainous requests.

On the bright side, I was waiting and waiting for Inspector Morse DVDs to go down from £25 to £20 (the lowest price according to Camel Camel) and finally bit the bullet and paid it, and now they've gone up to 45, so I'm pretty pleased!

Thanks to everyone on this thread and especially Reastie for saving me so much money this year.

i am suffering from the twitch badly this year. any yankee candles around at good prices?

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 17/12/2013 22:31

Just home from a lovely quiet Sainsburys... they had lots of fab Guinness World Record Kits like this jelly bean challenge down to between £3.33 and £4. Perfect stocking fillers.

Mellow - I ordered my calendars from snapfish - they have 50% off with 50XMAS13, that code runs out tonight though.

They came in about 5 days, and I've just ordered another one tonight, I expect that should come before Christmas.

I'm very happy with them. Photobox are better IMO, but they are double the price (using that code), and not that much better!

I'm done! Have been completely wiped out by a horrible sickness bug, 32 hours in bed Thursday - Saturday so I'm miles behind where I should be, but I will just have to run around faster than ever!

Finished the last of my shopping tonight, spoke to my aunt - the last person and she asked for some liz earl stuff that I happen to have in stock, so I don't have to buy her anything1!

Just the food to get (well my contribution, DM is the main host).

I'm up for a sales thread too!

Thank you, I have learned loads on these threads, not only about bargains. I have not posted much but I have enjoyed watching. Thank you everybody (grin)

Nope. One day I will also crack emoticons :)

Anyone looking for cheap late presents - particularly good for any difficult to get for tech-y folk with lots of cables and wires to manage...
And all for 99p each unless otherwise priced, and all from the UK with delivery on or before 24th december. (there are loads of other similar sorts of things, some cheaper, but from china, hong kong etc thus with much longer delivery times. so maybe one to keep a note of for next year)

I've just been looking on ebay for a cable tidy thing for dh and come across several of these rubber things that you put on your desk to hold cables - particularly useful if you have a laptop that you plug things in and out of and want to leave the cables held in the right place rather than them disappearing off.

There's also these velcro ties to put around cables to keep them tidy, either when travelling or to mark them or just around your desk.

And then there are these fish skeleton cable winders/tidy that are more for earphone cable thickness. Or for a mere £1.99 a pack of 10 of them - could be good for cracker fillers I'm guessing (depends on size of crackers of course!)

there's even a super cute ninja cable organiser for your headphone wires for £1.99 or a more seasonal gingerbread man for £2.29

zipzap · 17/12/2013 23:04

Lucy - try tkmaxx for the poker set. Or somewhere like B&M or Home bargains - they often have them.

KatherinaMinola · 17/12/2013 23:09

Anyone have any other discount codes for the Bookpeople (apart from the free delivery ones - especially anything that works with free del too!)

Oreocrumbs · 17/12/2013 23:12

WINTER might still be live for 10% off book people.

Rootvegetables · 17/12/2013 23:13

Someone was asking about Yankee candles up thread, I've never got them before but boots have then in their 3 for 2 offer and I noticed that made them cheaper than in the actuall Yankee store and in house if Fraser.

KatherinaMinola · 17/12/2013 23:19

Oreocrumbs that's brilliant, thank you - just worked for me, in conjunction with free delivery too! Thanks

RhondaJean · 17/12/2013 23:25

I think I finally have everything bought except a download of minecraft on dd2s new free hudl.

Can someone tell me when the blazes I am supposed to wrap?

Out til midnight tomorrow, 8 or later Thursday, after 7on Friday, gym Saturday, friend in the afternoon visiting, house full of teenagers all weekend, housework badly needs doing, must bake on Sunday, working Monday and have plans for all day Xmas eve!

Will the kids notice if I throw things unwrapped in tesco bags? I've got all the "out of the house" presents wrapped Grin

Mellowandfruitful · 17/12/2013 23:30

greennails and anyone looking for Yankee candles, I ordered this set from that site a few days ago. On a lot of stuff they seem to offer lower prices than the official YC site.

Mellowandfruitful · 17/12/2013 23:33

RhondaJean can I offer (not for the first time this Christmas) Smithy of Gavin and Stacey's tip? Use kitchen foil: 'you don't need no sellotape, you just scrunch and done'. Xmas Grin

zipzap · 17/12/2013 23:48

RhondaJean my mother used to save m&s bags that were a festive green colour to do lots of her family wrapping Grin.
When they started to do red at christmas she reluctantly saw that red counted as a traditional festive colour and moved on to using them instead.

this year she is most put out by the introduction of blue christmas bags as she likes to wrap stuff in red or green Grin

Rhonda! Meet me at the wrapping table at 11pm on Christmas Eve!

I arrive back in UK tomorrow night, will take me Friday to unpack and check all my bargainous bargains from September onwards are actually present and correct (can you imagine! it's like a double Christmas with all the parcels to sort out) I might get started on Saturday.......

Mellowandfruitful- Vistaprint are now 50% and free del, (calendars) but I imagine the free del won't get them to you on time. I still have emails from yesterday in my inbox re photo calendars, so reckon you can still do it.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 18/12/2013 06:16

mellow Photobox - you can order up to midnight tomorrow 19th and they will still be there for Christmas. Half price delivery also with a code I have forgotten Xmas Grin but will post in a minute. Looks like the calendars are reduced as well, and go via Quidco, Photobox has quite a bit % cashback IIRC.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 18/12/2013 06:19

www.photobox.co.uk/shop/calendars-and-diaries/?mob_popup=no&ectrans=1&cid=crm_18122013_uk_oc_pcafdec12_ntlst2w&rid=29cbd166e5

The half price delivery code is 50DEL but only if you spend more than £30. Calendars still reduced though. PB are very good.

ZIGGY911 · 18/12/2013 07:15

Taffeta · 18/12/2013 07:28

Why not buy the ipad air from the Apple store?
