trockodile thank you so much, my canvas arrived today and is already hanging in our lounge. Such a great bargain. Flowers

ChristmasJumperWearer · 17/12/2013 19:57

I've just ordered next year's wrapping paper and cards from M&S. Grin

500internalerror · 17/12/2013 20:00

Reastie , jolly448 was free delivery for m&s but I don't know if its customer-specific? You can try it and see! I got it because some items weren't available to collect, so it flashed up that I could have free home delivery instead.

SolidGold · 17/12/2013 20:00

I would also like to say thanks for all the tips and links. This Christmas is difficult for us as dh has been out of work for quite a while and finances are very tight, but thanks to this thread I have been able to make my money go further Smile

DanceForMeColin · 17/12/2013 20:34

Do any of you bargain hunting aficionados have a free delivery code for the Book People please?

grew · 17/12/2013 20:49

Thought I was all sorted until ds announced at Santa's grotto that he would like a power ranger! I've never heard of them before! Off to Google!

LinzerTorte · 17/12/2013 20:52

Dance Try REINDEER or AFADVENT.

LinzerTorte · 17/12/2013 20:54

Also, HAPPY gives free delivery at the Book People if you spend over £10 (valid until 14th January).

Waitingforflo · 17/12/2013 21:16

wonderingsoul - that's it, isn't it?! Do you think I should risk it? We live somewhere that the postie just gives up if the weather's bad . . . Thank you so much Smile

The body shop have an 0800 phone number. I called today to cancel an order that appears to have gone into cyberspace somewhere according to the delivery company. Not what they said. I went into a store today and bought what I had ordered. Not happy had to pay parking and full price. Phone line was busy and not up for sob stories but I got reimbursed for the order I cancelled. I have still sent an email hoping for a freebie as a goodwill gesture (grin). 0800 0929090 just thought you probably know this already.

leavesalmondoutofit · 17/12/2013 21:23

I have no idea how to make smileys work!

wonderingsoul · 17/12/2013 21:33

wait-- its not the same exactly, but it is big and i do think its very cute! i would give it a go Smile or can it be dilivered some where that you can pick up at?

Bootoyou2 · 17/12/2013 21:34

I also tried to click and collect at m and s and they said I couldn't but have a code for free delivery so try that.

wonderingsoul · 17/12/2013 21:34

it says choose express for dilivery for christmas?

500internalerror · 17/12/2013 21:38

Had an email from John Lewis this morning saying 'sorry, your order won't be available to collect today from 2pm, we will call you this afternoon to arrange a replacement'. No call. Does this mean they sold something that wasnt in stock, or does it mean they can't get it to store in time for my collection day? And will they have taken my money?

Mellowandfruitful · 17/12/2013 21:38

Hey all. I have one more shopping day tomorrow but have a lot of my stuff done. Whoever was looking for JL hare and bear stuff, I will check in my local store tomorrow just to see.

I have cancelled Glamour with no probs, even on email, but still must do Good Food. Need to do photo calendars still, argh! Someone a while back mentioned Tesco were ok and you could collect from store so cut down the delivery time. Anyone else done calendars last couple of days, or doing them now, who has any recommendations?

M&S have boxes of chocolate truffles on half price at £3 and Swiss chocolate selection at £4. Would be good for naice gifts for teachers etc if anyone is looking.

Sleepstarved · 17/12/2013 21:39

I need a sack! DD1 has a Christmas sack and I'll be sad if DD2 doesn't have one too - it's her first Christmas.
Seen nice ones on GLTC ect but they £££.
Am a bit sad we are actually nearing Christmas and these threads will end.

Mipe · 17/12/2013 21:41

Ooh Taffeta those pyjamas are lovely thanks! Does anyone know of any discount codes for John Lewis? Will have a look in Asda for the onesie as well :).

WaitMonkey · 17/12/2013 21:51

Mipe, don't think JL does discount codes.

Auntiebaba · 17/12/2013 21:56

I have a premier ASOS account so not sure if anyone else can use the code but I've used SALE40 to get an extra 40% off everything. I couldn't use it on things left over from their summer sale (outlet) but I did use it on a bag that was already reduced from £104 to £70. I got a further 40% off which brought it down to £42 (nice treat for myself as I'm pregnant and can't buy much else!).

zipzap · 17/12/2013 21:59

500 I ordered something a couple of days ago and got that message at 9am in the morning when I was expecting to pick it up that afternoon. it said that it would send another email later on, I seem to remember that it implied it would send an update that afternoon, although I could be wrong about whether they explicitly said they would.

In the end I got an email this morning to say that it is now in store for collection. Doesn't make that much difference to me as I live locally so it's relatively easy to pop in to pick it up. But would have been a real bugger if I lived somewhere further away and had arranged to go shopping specifically to pick it up - I wouldn't have picked up the email before setting off. And if I'd been working I might have taken a day off specially.

fingers crossed your stuff turns up asap!

500internalerror · 17/12/2013 22:11

Thanks zipzap, I'll hold on a bit then before I start calling them!

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 17/12/2013 22:12

Thanks leavesalmondoutofit. I did try to ring on Friday but was in the queue for 20 mins before I gave up! That's terrible customer service to have not honoured your order. I don't think I'll be using them again. To do a grin you do [ grin ] without the spaces :)

pettyprudence · 17/12/2013 22:15
