Not sure if this has been mentioned but Ashleigh Burwood are doing 12 deals of christmas, one offer per day. Today the offer is a fragrance lamp with 40% off.

Thanks everyone for the bargains.

Nix01 · 03/12/2013 13:23

Thanks, have contacted the seller for clarification.

GlitteredPinecones · 03/12/2013 13:24

Thanks Reastie Thanks

Re presents for partners from dcs. I'm taking dd to the pound shop where I'll wait at the door and she can shop for me, dh, two brothers and grand parents. I'll give her a bag to put her hoard in and then let her wrap things herself so everyone gets a surprise. It's an idea a read on a thread on here somewhere. It may not help those with very young dcs but it's great for the older ones.

Thanks for the new thread Reastie. Love the title. Xmas Grin

Nix01 · 03/12/2013 13:31

We do the same thing TheOneWithTheHair and the children are so proud of themselves.

I stumbled into Sainsburys as I saw the 25% off TU sign. Had no idea it was on but managed to get sweet dress for DN bday this week. Tried Lidl still no Xmas pasta or cellophane Xmas Sad

Popped into 99p store and got some battery operated lights (in shape of stockings), pack of X18 sheets of tissue paper (red, green and white with merry Christmas on), Xmas stickers.

Next was WHSmith and they had Busy Books 2 for £10. Saw Dora (still think of chocky when I see this as you were after one at some point?), Cars, Thomas, Planes, Monsters Inc Uni, princesses, and I bought toy story and doc mcstuffins. Got some command hooks for wreath and, when at till, remembered that I had forgotten my 20% card from previous visit. Lovely lady swiped one for me from her stash, so managed to get 20% off everything. The card is valid throughout Dec for any purchase.

It was heaving. Heaving. Where have all these people come from?

notso · 03/12/2013 13:56

Xmas Grin at moshing monsters!

notso · 03/12/2013 13:58

Does anyone know where I can get massive sheets of white card on the high street?

LaTrucha · 03/12/2013 13:59

Poundland had 15 kodak batteries for a pound and cute reindeer ear headband.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 03/12/2013 14:09

Oh here you are!

I was getting all embroiled up in serious threads because I couldn't find you. Xmas Grin

Phew.

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 03/12/2013 14:41

Our DC's get us a gift each year, DH takes them for mine and I take them for his.

Dogmatix34 · 03/12/2013 14:54

Thanks Glitteredfor the info re Fattoria boxes on previous thread ( terrified of posting on last thread for fear of finishing it!)
Does anyone have any nice ideas for making a bottle of wine look more Christmassy? Can't think of anything else for dear GIL but want it to look more interesting

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 03/12/2013 15:00

Dogmatix, you could try this maybe?

Scaredycat3000 · 03/12/2013 15:02

Sorry moosey cellophane was in Lidl a month ago, sold out I'm afraid. Same with pasta, but a couple of weeks ago.

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 03/12/2013 15:02

Or make a sleeve for the bottle like this?

Dogmatix34 · 03/12/2013 15:07

Really like both those ideas, thanks Thanks

snowgirl1 · 03/12/2013 15:13

Anadventure thanks - I was looking for ideas on how to make bottles more interesting too. Rather like the sock idea!

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get cheap long christmas socks?

santandhishappybandofelves · 03/12/2013 15:14

Frozenatchristmas · 03/12/2013 15:57

Thanks Reastie.

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 03/12/2013 16:20

Those looking to make bottles of wine look festive, Poundland do Christmas hat bottle toppers, there was around 5 in a pack.

I'd gone into Poundland to look for the cellophane bags mentioned in the last (or possibly the one before) thread. Couldn't see them anywhere, asked one of the staff and she didn't have a clue what I was on about Grin. I didn't dream it did I? Someone did say they had seen snowflake cellophane bags in Poundland?! If anyone knows what I'm talking about then which aisle/department did you see it in? TIA :)

And thanks reastie for another fab thread Thanks

HavingAnOffDAy · 03/12/2013 16:25

I missed the whole of the last thread so am marking my place here as I still have bits & bobs to get. Stocking fillers mainly.

I'll be wrapping at the weekend so may get The Twitch then Xmas Grin

TooWetToWoo · 03/12/2013 16:29

I picked up some cellophane bags in Poundland yesterday Cadence. In my shop they were on the aisle with Christmas decorations like fairy lights, garlands, ceiling lanterns etc. and near the calendars. It's a pack of 20 with some ribbon too.

snowgirl1 · 03/12/2013 16:30

Cadence you definitely didn't dream it! I bought cellophane bags in Poundland and mentioned them on the previous thread. They were in the aisle with all the Christmas stuff in - near the card holders. They were hanging and were opposite the gift bags and baubles. HTH.

Reastie · 03/12/2013 16:46
