Rubbish start to advent here. DCs ill, missed lantern parade in town yesterday, DCs up at 5, Ds (3) got his advent calendar down while I was in the shower and opened half the windows, then stropped because he didn't have a cholocate when DD had hers. ugh.

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/12/2013 11:07

[tchgrin]

It's a shame that some of us have poorly, absent, cheeky dcs this morning after all the planning but see it as the Christmas set back. It can only get better right? [tchhmm]

Theonlyoneiknow · 01/12/2013 11:11

Thanks raisah 'twas me! Sadly they have a delivery charge I am too tight to pay! If I have no joy at lidl will go there, thanks!!

EverybodyKeepCool · 01/12/2013 11:11

katz I ordered stuff from the italian place and it looks beautiful. Not opened it as it's a hamper present.

Misssss · 01/12/2013 11:17

Elf cosmetics are doing 50% of everything today. www.eyeslipsface.co.uk code is 501113. I've just ordered some make up brush sets and eyeshadow pallets for stocking fillers.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2013 11:19

We have a poorly house too. Had to cancel our weekend to bath. Dd had a chest infection, ds and dp have an ear infection and I have a horrible cold!

MrsClauswearsspanx · 01/12/2013 11:31

I love ELF cosmetics, thanks!

Can any of you London/Harrods shopping people help me.

We are just onto sorting out the staff Christmas presents. We have 2 women who really are so lovely and want a gift from Harrods. Now my brother (and business partner) is off to the big smoke next week but won't be shopping unless I really torture him.

They have asked in jest that he buys their present from there (I say in jest because they are so un presumptuous, I believe they really don't expect him to do so). But I equally know that it will make their Christmas to have a Harrods bag. That is what they really want. Not the present but the bag.

They collect and treasure bags from such stores - the little brown bag from maceys etc.

So to my question - I have looked online and the harrods green bag is £18 for the small one Shock .

In store (or preferably online in a department I haven't so far looked in) is there anything cheaper? The present I have already bought them is a bottle of expensive perfume each, so I only need a small bag. I presume if we were shopping instore that we would get some sort of plastic/paper bag - but what I want is the reusable bag.

I can and will send him instore if there is something vastly cheaper - I'm at a bit of a loss looking online as I can't really tell what I'm looking at!

Fears I am greatly over thinking this.

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 01/12/2013 11:53

Oreo I have no idea (country bumpkin too) but wanted to say how lovely and thoughtful that is [tchsmile].

zipzap · 01/12/2013 11:54

TheOnlyOneIKnow Try ebay for cellophane - lots of suppliers, lots who don't charge postage (or who charge a very cheap price for the cellophane and so it all comes to the same at the end) and lots of different patterns/lengths to choose from...

Scaredycat3000 · 01/12/2013 11:55

My cat scarfs have arrived. I'm pleased, they are nice, quite light weight but I like the feel. My finger lights arrived Grin one was switched on when they arrived, so at least one is working!
The boys are playing with their bargain imaginext advent calendar's, don't know if the calendar's will make it properly to Christmas day, (aged 2 and 4) but they are loving them.

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/12/2013 11:56

The Garden Centre Group is doing 20% off today in store.

I have once again been cast as mean mummy cos I had to call a halt to hide and seek as dh had them hiding next to presents etc. Will need to investigate later how much has been compromised. tchshock

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/12/2013 12:01

3bunnies I was the same last night when they had fiends over. They were playing beautifully upstairs when it dawned upon me they were playing in the present spare room! Luckily they were drunk on sugar so probably didn't notice.

Oreocrumbs · 01/12/2013 12:05

Thanks Cadence, all my staff are lovely, but these two really have been a God send, they really look after me and my DB! He is single and they fuss around him and boss him about like little wives!

I love them to bits, so I will get them whatever they want if it can repay them a tiny bit.

cece · 01/12/2013 12:08

NB63 an extra 10% off Debenhmas online.

BuffyFairy · 01/12/2013 12:20

20% off everything at ASOS with 20EXTRA, ends 8am tomorrow.

The cats are being worse than DD at trying to get into their advent calendars [tchgrin]

raisah · 01/12/2013 12:22

ASDA has Bayliss & Harding boxed gift sets for £10.

The man in the next checkout to me was screaming MOVE & ramming his dd (8yrs) out of the way with the trolley. [shocked] Poor girl looked terrified.

IHeartIona · 01/12/2013 12:56

Theimpossiblegirl - am liking "fiends"!

insanityscatching · 01/12/2013 13:17

Dh has picked up 2ds and Pokemon X for £99 in Sainsburys this morning. Would have been a bargain only I was only going to buy the game as she already has every ds console released so far Hmm

notso · 01/12/2013 13:20

Happy December everyone [tchsmile]

Advent Calender fail here as usual. DH didn't get them out of the cellar last night and I won't set foot in there as it is too cobwebby and dead spidery
Didn't get anything for DD's pockets so not sure about giving DS1 the lego one. Have got chocolates so might give them those.

Am trying to get some bits wrapped before DS2&3 wake up but DS1 keeps coming upstairs for a nose!

Theimpossiblegirl · 01/12/2013 13:24

Lol. That was a typo, honestly. But fitting.
[tchblush]

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 01/12/2013 14:02

Oreo - some cheaper/discounted Harrods 'bag for life' type bags here if you sort by price www.harrods.com/gifts/shopper-bags?sort=-1&viewall=no&psc=18&psi=0

Or they do tins of tea bags for about £9 (tin would be a nice keepsake?)

Wiifitmama · 01/12/2013 14:12

Thanks so much for the tip about the 2DS bundle in sainsburys. Both my boys want to spend their hannukah m
