Our local butchers are taking orders now. And will probably be taking them for a couple of weeks yet.

Physionic · 01/12/2013 09:12

How long your turkey will last depends on how big your fridge is. There's no way a turkey would fit in my fridge so will have to pick up on Xmas eve.

15% off at Cath Kidston with ELF15, valid until 9am tomorrow. Not valid on sale items.

Vertbaudet 3 for 2 code is 5380 and works on already discounted items. Ends today.

Hi all, long time lurker here (since 1st thread!) Wanted to say thanks for all the fantastic bargains over the last few months AND...

My first thought when I woke this morning was along the lines of '1st December- advent calendars, yippee' (DH and I have a choc one too!)

My very next thought was 'Oh! I wonder how all the bargain thread people got on taking off their DC's normal duvet covers to reveal Christmas ones underneath!' So, I had to come on and ask!! Did they stay asleep? Did they love it this morning? (That was this thread ages ago wasn't it? I'm not going mad am I?!)

DisneyAddict88 · 01/12/2013 09:22

thanks for yankee candle livvy just ordered a small one as an extra for my mum for £3.81 delivered and with a free santa hat Grin hope apple wreath is nice... rubbish with candles etc!! just know she likes all the christmassy red coloured ones normally!!

pettyprudence · 01/12/2013 09:22

Supermarkets seems to have quite an early cut off for pre-ordering fresh turkeys Confused. I am also hosting christmas for the first time ever 500 but luckily dbil is providing the turkey as a gift to the family and he has already researched butchers and birds and ordered (he is from farming stock Grin) so i think I just need to get booze, nibbles, veg and pudding. Oh and a dining table.....

I am also getting a boxofomg. I selected boy and hoping there are a couple of bits I can fob off on to my dbro.

Apart from a secret santa I have finished my christmas shopping! I do have a lot of gifts still to make though plus a dining room to decorate so no rest yet.

Thank you all for some amazing bargains. Can't say I won't still be around because what if a mega deal comes up????

Katz · 01/12/2013 09:26

MY fattoria la vialla, tasting box arrived, it's lovely! I'm thinking of ordering from them, has anyone used the other than for the free box?

lucysmam · 01/12/2013 09:26

I put the finger lights in todays pocket of the advent calendars Grin ....my girls are mini-disco-ing with them & have been for an hour. Thanks for whoever linked them, first peaceful sunday morning in ages!

Katz · 01/12/2013 09:26

AliceinSlumberland · 01/12/2013 09:35

Thanks for the link to that fb page, they had a voucher for a bag of free dog and cat food from James wellbeloved which I'm going to give to the local rescue.

GlitteredPinecones · 01/12/2013 09:46

Yay!! It's finally December :) The Christmas bedding is on, I was out at 8am putting solar fairy lights in the bushes outside, the advent calendar is opened, Christmas music is on and I'm currently having a break from tidying to make way for the Christmas tree to go up later Grin

And thanks to the lovely Reastie and everyone on these threads, we're not going to be rushing round like headless chickens in the shops this month Grin woohoo Thanks & mulled Wine

Anyhoo, bit off track there sorry I'm just so excited! Asda have some cyber Monday deals online here

GlitteredPinecones · 01/12/2013 09:49

Oh yeah, and I'm wearing my lovely christmas jumper that I got from Primark thanks to those who recommended to go there for them Thanks

Hawkmoth · 01/12/2013 09:51

Hmm. The book in the latest box of OMG is O.M.G. indeed. It's called Drummer Girl and has sexual references, so no good for any of mine. DDthrilled to have more Moshi Monsters cards though (yes... The contents make no sense to me either).

A rubbish start to advent. DS was up at four because he was so excited about his calendar. Then DD and DS contrived to break DD's calendar and DS went through all the presents in it while it was on the floor.

I'm panicking because we don't have a tree or any decorations and they are already down to half price in shops, but we're moving so need to wait another week.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2013 09:54

We won't put our tree up until the fourteenth. No fakeness here!

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/12/2013 09:54

I also have a thank you. MIL always buys the dcs a chocolate advent calendar but this year as a surprise we got them Lego ones as a surprise.

Ds2 threw up everywhere this morning so couldn't open his chocolate one. It was great when I managed to get the Lego one out to cheer him up.

DisneyAddict88 · 01/12/2013 10:18

Oreocrumbs · 01/12/2013 10:33

Morning! We have no children here today yet so I'm feeling a bit sad/giddy with excitement for the advent kick off!!

AND I almost blardy forgot about the Christmas duvet cover! Thank goodness Rosie mentioned it!

Have just had a mad scramble to find it and it is having a quick freshen up before I make the beds later. DD won't be going into her room now before bedtime so I have plenty of time.

GlitteredPinecones · 01/12/2013 10:33
