missmakesstuff · 25/11/2013 22:40

I can't remember who asked but I am still waiting on free stuff from magazines - bodyshop, dove x 2 and scarf from sainsburys - nada..

I have a pile of marking also but have just been taking a break to look on here and black friday...

I am all done with what I am getting everyone apart from my dad, my mum and FIL - but that is DH department as he is a bloody nightmare to buy for...

I need to tally everything up that I have made/am making and buying to see if I have enough for everyone, I just cannot keep track!

Anyone got any ideas for a 12 year old, boy, likes xbox - apparently getting a controller for 360 for xmas - no idea what that is - is there something available for around a £5 that could go with it?

ProtectiveMother · 25/11/2013 22:47

Oh congrats Tyllbach! !!!!!

I am not sure at all what I should be buying people. I want to buy small gifts for a few friends (or else throw a few parties/have a few nights out with them all I suppose might be money better spent.)

So I've been looking at a few small things eg Magpie mugs, gorgeous Magpie notebooks, nail set, goat calendar-love it! but it all adds up and budget not huge. Perhaps making lovely cards with the kids and giving them with thank you messages eg for teachers or for other people who've been generally amazing this year...

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 25/11/2013 23:10

Right, the seller has very kindly offered me a partial refund on the mahoosive cardigan but has asked what is the minimum I would accept, I paid £17 for it so what do you think i should say?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 25/11/2013 23:13

tea he advertised it incorrectly so I would ask for a full refund!

MrsAFlowerpot · 25/11/2013 23:30

tea definitely the full refund

jamtoast12 · 25/11/2013 23:32

Hi does anyone have a spare m&s code? I was emailed two but neither seem to work and I've stuff in my basket and half hour til they run out?! Thanks :)

ApocalypseMeow · 25/11/2013 23:46

Jam try VPLW-82FAAT-89N44U. I had to put in the dashes to make it work

Mellowandfruitful · 25/11/2013 23:49

Forgot I got a code for the Works when I ordered from M&Co the other day. It's 15% off online orders only, NOVEMBER15, valid till 30th November.

Amazon prices are certainly fluctuating rapidly. Put the Orchard jigsaw in my basket at 7.50, browsed on and off for an hour looking for add-ons I wanted, then found it had gone up to 9.70 Angry

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 26/11/2013 00:17

I wanted to buy a couple of thing from Debenhams last night but was horrified to find I couldn't find a working code and left it in disgust. tonight, I thought I'd just check. Not only is it now 30% off, but I found a working code for a further 10% by googling (and I'm afraid I can't remember it, but it is on HotUKDeals). Very pleased. I have learnt how to locate a bargain from these threads!!

joymaker · 26/11/2013 00:31

WhereBeThat Thanks for the heads up (and to Having and wondering for the encouragement to persevere Wink). Managed to finally secure an Amazon voucher earlier on this evening hope you had more luck too notso and Drank as I've just noticed intending to push my luck for another tonight that it appears to have 'sold out' now Sad...

joymaker · 26/11/2013 00:39

Mellow 'playing' Amazon can get quite frstrating can't it? I'm waiting for this Silly Sisters CD to go down and it seems to just keep climbing in price, Grrrrr

FourAndDone · 26/11/2013 06:37

I rang David Sanderson regarding the scarves last week, I was told my order was with the 'pickers' at the warehouse and to expect it sometime this week. didn't ask about the other two on my order Grin

Reastie · 26/11/2013 06:47

"I'll do a lot for a Xmas bargain but I won't put fairy lights on my nipples . . ." I had already put it on my log yesterday evening for next thread title Grin

Loving this thread, it does make me wish I'd been more organised though.
Just wanted to say thank you notso for explaining the JoJoMamaBebe code, DS's micro scooter arrived on Friday and I'm in the good books with DH for saving him a tender and free delivery!
So far I've bought one thing from Black Friday. I'm a bit addicted to checking the deals though so I expect it'll be more by the end of the week...

DrankSangriaInThePark · 26/11/2013 06:54

Just had a look at today's BF deals.

Don't think I'll be bothering today- I got 2 books for my Secret Santa yesterday, then just before checkout had a flash of inspiration and quickly checked Book Depository- cheaper.

I think that this week the whole world is concentrating on BF and there will be fewer klaxon-bargains around. Also, this is about the week when normal people *as opposed to Reastie-bargain-threaders Grin start running round like blue-arsed flies for their bargains. Now next week and onwards, once we hit December, retailers are going to be chucking bargains and discounts and codes at us. Just you see.

CadenceRoastingByAnOpenFire · 26/11/2013 07:03

tea I'm really surprised by the seller and I don't think it's kind of them at all to offer a partial refund. They should refund you what you paid plus postage to send it back. What do they expect you to do with a jumper that's too big?! Or would you be hapy to use the money they refund to have it taken in? That's hassle for you though and they really should be refunding you in full IMO. It's their mistake. I'd push for a full refund and contact eBay if they refuse.

LongStripedScarfWearer · 26/11/2013 07:26

Over on the Black Friday thread they're debating the likely bargainousness of the Playmobil school today (currently on Amazon for £70-ish). It's the small one, not even the large one we bagged on this thread aaaaaaaaages ago for £39.99.

I've "helpfully" reminded them what a real bargain is. Grin

Sillybillybob · 26/11/2013 07:30

Aaaah I was looking at that too but couldn't see it on the Lightning Desls so assumed the half price WAS the bargain. Decided it was still too much and walked away :D

Crutchlow35 · 26/11/2013 07:34

DH would like some good in ear headphones. Anyone know what's good?

notso · 26/11/2013 07:35

Grin LongStriped I saw your post. The school seems like it was last year now we've had so many threads!

getoffthecoffeetable glad to help. Hope your DS enjoys his scooter.

Poop will certainly post if I see the Bear offer again.

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister · 26/11/2013 07:44

Got the jelly bean mug now thanks to all that helped. Nearly all done now :(

Oreocrumbs · 26/11/2013 07:57

Grin LongStriped, I read your post and genuinely thought - hmm where did I put the playmobil school? before I got to your last line!
