The Twitch - How much did it cost you last year?!

Now I am nosy intrigued as to how much the dreaded 'twitch' cost you last year. I probably won't start twitching until at least the second week only December when things are getting wrapped... But it cost £140 with oh I don't think dbil has as much as dfil etc etc .

Tell me your stories Grin and make me feel better

That's really true merry. the teachers' gifts, bottles of wine for football coaches etc. Costs £££££s.

Enough, I said. No more stocking presents needed. FGS, I even had some left over from last year because I overbought.

So what happened at lunchtime? I twitched my way into Hawkins and ended up with fake snow, a magic tree, some indoor sparklers, and spinning balloons.

Sparkling, I was just thinking "ha, this year, DH's mindset will win - one main gift for each DC and stocking fillers only, and I've definately got enough stuff to fill their stockings each, infact so much that the traditional 'christmas socks and pants' for DS might just have to go straight in his underwear drawer without counting as a gift." and I was going to meal plan over the festive season to avoid the food twitch (repeat after me "there's only one day the supermarket is shut" and "it's only a big sunday lunch with a few nibbles before, and no one ever eats anything other than a round of sarnies, a bit of pork pie and the cake in the evening") but then you had to throw in the concept of a Christmas Cushion.

I have enough tree decorations, I have a red table runner from last year, I have sparkly placemats, but now I have a whole extra idea for decorating, some festive cushions. And for a fiver for two of them, bargainous, can come out year after year... And while I'm on their website... AHHHH!!!! You've gone and done it to me. once I've started twitching, it's not going to stop.

oh sparkling, now I'm between then and these ones surely at that price, changing the cushions for the Christmas season would be a nice idea. This isn't helped by the fact that this year we've bought new furniture for the front room so the Christmas tree won't fit and will have to go in the dining room, I get to think of ways to make the front from festive (as if the wooden nativity scene, the "Merry Christmas" bunting, the "noel" wooden blocks and the candle arch in the window and all the cards won't make the room look festive enough, I get to add cushions...)

It's not helped by the fact we don't do Christmas decorations until the weekend, so I can't see it done and festive looking....

do I need christmas cushions?

Oooooooh I have the cushion twitch now. I'm getting both. Thanks guys. After all, it's saving £2.50 a pop so if I buy enough i will have saved myself the cost of Christmas...Xmas Grin

I almost twitched at the cushions but I remained strong. I did however twitch at the 25% off 6 bottles of wine in Sainsbo's and stocked up on Barefoot Pinot Grigio. Now I just have to forget about them or they will be empty by the weekend.

"The twitch" hit me about two weeks ago and I bought 8 pairs of pyjama bottoms in Next. But it was because I am sick if seeing my kids with their jammies at half mast and they had loads of long length ones!

I do keep looking, but am being very restrained for now maybe they could do with an iPad and Kindle case!

I was seriously twitching in The Entertainer today looking at the Robo Fish! It was only £10 including a bowl for it to swim in... But DS is nearly 15 - I'm sure he'd think I was daft if I got it for him. And it contains water, he'd probably spill it. And the water would go stagnant. And one fish would be lonely and the bowl's not big enough for two. There! Talked myself out of it. For today Xmas Smile
