How abouts a thread in FWR Rosie? This is the Christmas forum.

as I don't like it. Wink

siblingrevelry · 13/11/2013 09:52

Wow rosie you may have had a valid point somewhere (although not necessarily the right thread to discuss it-we're far too friendly & helpful on this thread for bunfights), which has been lost due to your incredible rudeness.

So the lesson you'd like us to pass on go our daughters is that pink kitchens are not allowed, but being patronising to other women is totally within the spirit of feminism?

Pachacuti · 13/11/2013 09:52

You are really gender stereotyping by buying your son something from the girls' section, Lorelei. Shame on you. Of course, if you bought him something from the boys' section you'd be promoting the sexualisation of young children. May I suggest socks in a nice plain neutral colour instead? It's the only way forward, although granted they are a bit limited in terms of imaginative play possibilities.

siblingrevelry · 13/11/2013 09:55

Sorry if this has been posted already-I see there are discussions about nail kits/nail art so this set might be useful at £1.27:

Exclusively at Debenhams from November 9th - 30th 2013 you can get your mitts on a free Preen Beauty Bag and skincare treats worth over £126 with any purchase of 2 or more Elizabeth Arden products (one of which must be skin care).

For example you could choose the following:
Elizabeth Arden Visible difference refining moisture cream complex 75ml
£15 (reduced from £45)

I just got this 2 creams worth £90 and the gift worth £126, so £216 worth of Elizabeth Arden for £30!!

keli5325 · 13/11/2013 09:57

Opps forgot the link Elizabeth Arden free gift

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 09:58

I'm a bit Confused about the £7.50 zhuzhu hamster set....on the Tesco website description it says hamster not included...has anyone seen a zhuzhu hamster bargain that I could get to go with it for my dd's birthday? Smile

(and if anyone has seen bargain roller skates, that'd be ace too Grin )

FourFlapjacksPlease · 13/11/2013 09:58

just ignore Rosie and her christmas chip pissing antics. She was being generally unpleasant about hampers on another thread yesterday.

Perhaps you'd be happier on AIBU Rosie?

Right, back to bargains. I got some fab hessian type printed sacks from Poundland. They are really similar to ones I was planning to get from e-bay for £10 each here

DreamlessSleep · 13/11/2013 10:00

I found the newest tinkerbell dvd on play for around £7 which is pretty good as most places want at least ten.

CatAmongThePigeons · 13/11/2013 10:01

lucysmam There's some in my local £stretcher fot £1.99. I don't think they're in every store but there were a few in mine.

Disclaimer I am giving up smoking so may not cope well with gf's, someone give me a shake if I bite, please.

SpinCycle · 13/11/2013 10:01

oooh - thanks DisneyAddict88 Smile Asda have been out of stock every time I have looked - but I managed to order the new style Batcave this morning @ £20. I don't have an Asda nearby, so had to pay delivery - still £££s cheaper than Amazon though.

Some of the Amazon.com items will ship to the UK, but you are right, you have to get to the checkout to find out which ones. The new style Batcave won't, but the old one will. old style

It comes to about £53 including shipping and tax, so although way more than I want to spend, still a bargain compared to the Amazon.uk price of £79.99.

Really just a tactic for when you are getting desperate, I guess Grin

On another note, I had some post from La Redoute this morning - they are offering £25 off when you spend £50 with code 0170. Not sure if it has appeared on the thread inbetween all the conditioning-small-children-with-gendered-gifts malarkey, but I thought I would add it. Ladieswear can be variable quality, but their kids stuff is fab.

BarfaStewart · 13/11/2013 10:03

Oh, and in case anyone has missed it, I used Flubit when buying from Amazon. You put the URL in, create a demand and they come back with a slightly lower price. Usually a couple of quid off. I got the lego city advent calender for just over a tenner.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest · 13/11/2013 10:04

The entertainer usually has zhu zhu hamsters for 3 quid. Battle ones for boys, pink and fluffy ones for girls. Wink

DreamlessSleep · 13/11/2013 10:05

Also there are cute fairy doll barbie lookeylike type ones in wilkinsons for £3.50 which I thought was a good price as they seem to be a nice quality and nice looking dolls with proper clear glittery wings.

lucysmam · 13/11/2013 10:05

I can't get to Poundstretcher easily Cat but thanks, will see if my dad's heading that way at all to have a look for me Smile

SpinCycle · 13/11/2013 10:05

Don't suppose anyone has seen a nice hairbrush/accessory set that would suit a 14 yr old girl? Never mind bargain - I'm struggling to find one to start with...[hopeful]

(oh, and I have to post it to Oz/ get it delivered there!)

FairyJen · 13/11/2013 10:06

My dd ad ds both want to play with whatever the other one has. So no stereotyping happens but no peace and quiet either!

prettymess · 13/11/2013 10:09

The Entertainer has lots of Minecraft toys. Some to preorder, but my kids would love these. 5% off with NVBRUK, free collection from store.

prettymess · 13/11/2013 10:10

Boots' offer of the week will be a Soap and Glory one soon. Keep eyes peeled for those as they go quickly.

prettymess · 13/11/2013 10:11

Also Hugo fragrances reduced soon at Boots if you're wanting some.

Mellowandfruitful · 13/11/2013 10:12

Seeing all the posts about the Batcave at 20 - unbelievably good price. But I got it from Amazon for 23.33 so can't really complain as it is back up to 37.99 now! Incidentally, I ordered it at their original discounted price of 26.66, and then it dropped again within about 2 days. I emailed them - after someone suggested this on another thread - and said it hadn't even arrived yet and I'd assumed by buying promptly I would get the best price so could they refund me the difference? They did Grin though they did assure me that this was not policy and was as an individual goodwill gesture. So if anyone buys from Amazon and then finds the price quickly drops again, I would try asking for a refund - it is not policy of course Wink but you may find that you benefit from an individual gesture of goodwill.

Littlemissexpecting · 13/11/2013 10:12

I've had an email from asda advertising a big brand toy sale

Lilicat1013 · 13/11/2013 10:12

The Imaginext Submarine is down to £12.49 on Amazon if it helps any one.

www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-N8270-Imaginext-Submarine/dp/B001JQLJNQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384337390&sr=8-1&keywords=IMAGINEXT+SUBMARINE

SpinCycle · 13/11/2013 10:17

Amazon UK actually had the Btcave at £19.99 with free delivery a couple of weeks back - and the jail at £14.99 (now £24.99). Really wish I had been a bit more on the ball.

I tried ordering the Batcave at £26.66, but it rose in price during the transaction Shock yesterday.

Sounds like they are a bit all over the place at the moment.

very pleased with my Asda order, though, assuming it arrives!

3bunnies · 13/11/2013 10:18

I will try to ignore Rosie but just to clarify I am buying them Scooby doo because they all love it though none of us can stand the new relationships blugh , and a science kit because that is what she has asked for. As long as I can remember she has loved creating 'mechanisms' aka tying ribbons all over the room to garot people. I'm not doing it to counteract sexual stereotypes or because I want her to play with boys toys (I could make ds play with boys toys if I wanted to), I'm doing it so that I can walk into her room and see pulleys and weights added to her ribbon, string and blu tack creations. It also goes to show that not everyone on this thread is ordering nail polish although she also enjoys having her nails polished too.

If anyone is interested in a physics type kit for their boy or girl, this is the one dd1 is getting, amazon seem to be the cheapest, click on the buying options for lowest price. Hopefully she won't chip her nail polish on it.
