I thought it might be easier for all including Reastie if we had a separate bargain thread for food and drink.

Reastie hoping I'm not stepping on your toes here Smile

Assuming the offers will move quickly mind.

I'm planning an online shop at tesco later so will let you know what bargains are there at the moment.

Got the crackers but not the Baileys.

I have a £60 Naked Wine voucher to use- has anyone used one? It looks like a good idea but is it really a con? Any advice on using it to get the best deal?

RhondaJean · 25/10/2013 23:22

DH went to get my baileys and there was none.

He said they were VERY sold out Sad

MooseyMoo · 26/10/2013 10:26

Just been for weekly food shop and Waitrose have offer. Shop 4 times (at least £50 spend) and get £25 voucher (need to be my Waitrose cardholder)

Bought FiL the Badger Sett Beer collection £5.99 (20% off)

izzybizzybuzzybees · 26/10/2013 12:56

impossible I used a £40 naked voucher recently and it hasn't been a con. They do suggest you sign up to be an angel but I haven't and all is well. No tie in or anything and I got 6 bottles of wine for £9.99 all in.

dementedma · 27/10/2013 09:05

Ordered a case of wine from Virgin in their pre-christmas sale and saved a bargainacious £69 quid. Check them out online. Have to say the staff are brilliant too and always fine when I have to cancel an order during the skint months.

lookout · 27/10/2013 09:51

Had anyone tried a lidl three bird roast? Am wondering what the budget ones are like, needs to be good enough for foodie parents but not break the bank.

RhondaJean · 27/10/2013 10:02

How are you all managing to get this super cheap wine?

Any time I look at naked or virgin with a vpucher they tell me I need to buy a case at £100 to use the voucher (making it just as cheap and safer all round to just wait till my favourites are reduced to a fiver in the supermarket.)

Crutchlow35 · 27/10/2013 10:17

I am sure the reviews of the 3 bird roast last year were not good.

RhondaJean · 27/10/2013 10:24

There's a 3 bird and a 4 bird and one is from aldi and one from lidl and if I remember the reviews on here last year were one is lovely and one is rank.

Rather Unhelpfully, I cannot remember which was which Confused but I do remember the (4x the price) markies one got good reviews!

cheesecheeseplease · 27/10/2013 11:50

we're having an aldi 4 bird roast for dinner today I think it's nice. haven't tried the lidl one tho so can't comment on that. aldi one is huge easily feeds 4 plus leftovers Smile

lookout · 27/10/2013 11:52

There will be 6 of us. Don't have an aldi near me but do have a lidl. The marks one looks nice but at forty quid a bit more than I was hoping to spend. Hoping my new thread will render some more replies. Thanks allSmile

Theimpossiblegirl · 27/10/2013 11:53

Rhonda, mine is a £60 voucher for a minimum case of 12 too. Making it £3.99 a bottle on average. The Virgin wine deal works out slightly less, but still not an amazing deal, all in all. That's why I'm umming and ahhing about it. I do like a deal but not sure the minimum spend and high cost of delivery (£7.99 Virgin) makes it worth it.

RhondaJean · 27/10/2013 12:03

Yep I'd happily take a risk on six bottles for £9.99 though!

Iamsanta · 27/10/2013 12:07

Aldis baileys taste exacly like Baileys and half the price!

Our local morrisons was sold out of baileys within the first hour of opening.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 27/10/2013 22:02

The voucher I had didn't have a minimum spend I don't think. The case was £59.99 but reduced in an offer to £44.99 and then with voucher made it super cheap!

WRT to the 3 bird roast we found it just fell apart when carved so looked pretty rank. Ours was aldi.

FrantasticO · 31/10/2013 07:44

I used a £5 off voucher for both Iceland and aldi to stock up on freezer chicken, lamb chops , house stuff for next wee while means I will have more food shop money on run up to Xmas. Voucher was in daily mail Blush but worth it (thanks for that mum!)

We had the aldi 3 bird roast 3 or 4 years ago, didn't like it.
Probably better now
Did buy the large prawn ring from lidl, it was nice!

Jack Daniels £15 in tesco for anyone who likes it

Thought on frozen turkey crowns please? Grin

Waitrose box of chocolates to share on 2 for 1 offer

notthefirstagainstthewall · 02/11/2013 08:09

Aldi 3 bird roast was all cheap and nasty stuffing. No taste of birds in any form. Shame. Seems such a good idea.

ShoopShoop · 02/11/2013 23:00

Did anyone else get an email from Tesco? Something along the lines of dom2 or 3 online shops in November and then get some money off a shop in December? I'm sure I had one and now cannot find it anywhere in my inbox.

Can anyone help me with the codes please?

Thanks
FrantasticO · 03/11/2013 09:19
