I thought it might be easier for all including Reastie if we had a separate bargain thread for food and drink.

Reastie hoping I'm not stepping on your toes here Smile

Assuming the offers will move quickly mind.

I'm planning an online shop at tesco later so will let you know what bargains are there at the moment.

Reastie re ocado. Not good news but a possible way round

Delivery pass t&c's state that Xmas delivery pass slots only go priority to those who have bought a delivery pass on or before 1/10. It's not v clear.I know someone who always gets their slot first, something on their postcode. They get their booking first week of October. Mine come out tomorrow.

If you are definitely going for it, phone them up to buy over the phone if poss or at least confirm this first with them. Say you only want the pass if you can get priority on Xmas slot rathe than wait till 30/11 which is what they will default you to.. ie no advantage.

They can, albeit maybe a supervisor needs to approve, book you in a slot on 23/12. You prob won't get an Xmas eve but more may open up.

Good luck. Be firm, they can do it. If you've had a delivery pass before tell them that, and be sure to tell them you are the Xmas shopping goddess of mumsnet. Smile

And Reastie, once they have booked you in the slot you need to put some holder items in to £90 as you have to check out within an hour or lose the slot they've pencilled in for you.

Meant to update yesterday, the Baileys for £9 at Morrisons promotion starts on Thursday nationwide.

I also found a website yesterday called Before I a Shop, that has the offers for Asda, Morrisons, Sainsyrys, Tesco and Waitrose

Great thread. Can't think of anything at the moment but will update regularly over the weeks. I was thinking last night though it'll soon be the time when Bailey's gets hugely reduced (the supermarkets 'take turns' with it as I recall) so thanks to Moosey for the Morrisons heads-up.

Reastie I have shopped with them for ten years. Thought we'd try someone else. Didn't renew pass in sept. Have realised is easier to have delivery and find waitrose not so intuitive. Anyway, didn't realise cut off had passed for Xmas slots. Signed up online again last week and phoned to check when I'd get slot. Was told as above. Challenged and was able to book in yday. Good luck Smile

I already have my Waitrose slot booked
In fairness my trolley may be a little of the "chuck anything in to reach £50" variety at the moment but I am thrilled with the new found domestic goddess in me that will have all her shopping delivered effortlessly to the door rather than dashing around grappling prawn rings off little old ladies on Christmas Eve :o

Nothing to add at the moment, but thanks for the Baileys heads up. I shall be off to Morrisons tomorrow for a bottle or two! Smile

Is it worth getting to Morrison's early or is there a set time they can sell alcohol from?

Is the aldi own brand baileys any good?

Report
Wiifitmama · 23/10/2013 19:24

I think the Aldi baileys tastes just like the branded one. Very nice and much cheaper.

Superdrug have some good deals on sweets at the moment. The little boxes of Lindt are £1, Thortons Reindeer £4 (saw it for £8 in Waitrose), 2 for £1 on bags of chocolate coins, box of Thortons chocs for £5 etc.

I was in Tesco this morning and they have 2 for £4 on Elizabeth Shaw chocolates, not such a bargain for the sticks but the wafers are usually £4 for a single box, they come in Mint and an Armaretto flavours, I got two mint boxes... one for us and one for a friends hamper.

So who got their Bailey's today? There weren't many left tonight at my nearest one (Streatham) but I was happy to get one bottle. May get another one in Brighton tomorrow if there's any left.
