Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Merry Christmas!

I am not being rude either same as above. Nothing has arrived and I hope MN8109 isn't out there worrying. It is really nice to think someone thought I was worthy of nomination though. Smile

LostMySantaNumber · 23/12/2013 11:42

Oops, my last post made it sound as if I was ungrateful for the mini snacks. I wasn't at all, and posted up-thread to say how much the DC enjoyed an extra lunch-box treat. Handy to have something tasty and healthy the week before they start gorging on chocolate Xmas Grin

Xmas2013MN8109 · 23/12/2013 12:01

OMG I spoke too soon. The postman has just arrived!! I am absolutely gobsmacked and delighted. SantaA8109 thank you so, so much. I can treat myself with the voucher, and thank you for the tin of goodies too.

Happy Christmas and sorry to have worried you.xxxxx Thanks Xmas Smile

Xmas2013MN5780 · 23/12/2013 13:05

To my secret santa, thanks so much!

A parcel full of lollipops was handed to my extremely delighted DS this morning!

We've had a really terrible time last week and it's really cheered us both up.

I am so touched that anyone would think of nominating me, and really grateful to you!

thanks so very much!

Xmas2013MN5573 · 23/12/2013 13:45

Hello? Not entirely sure what I did to deserve being nominated in the first place, or to receive such generosity from my donor, but I am moved beyond words and just wanted to say thank you so very much. The gifts just arrived and I am so looking forward to seeing my little boy's face when he's given his share (the colouring stuff and the chocolate - if I can bear to share!). It's been a very mixed year with some good parts and some very tough parts, but this is a wonderful way to round off the year. I feel so spoiled. Bless you and have a wonderful 2014

Edenviolet · 23/12/2013 13:45

After changing names recently and mucking a few things up I can't seem to change to Xmas name but it should be

XMAS2013MN1653

Thankyou so much to the person who got me such a generous gift card, iam really touched by your kindness. Really made my day and I will be treating dcs to something nice with it.

Thankyou so much xxx

Xmas2013MN5573 · 23/12/2013 13:46

PS- wish I knew which nn I was nominated under. That's the downside of changing all the time!

Xmas2013MN8871 · 23/12/2013 13:55

I was assuming it was the one I was PMed to as it was different to the one I was using at the time

Xmas2013MN5573 · 23/12/2013 14:04

PPS - I got another package to the Mumsnetter of the house a week or so ago, but there was no code number on it. It looks like a hard backed book, but I haven't opened it - is this part of the SS thing too? I would like to thank you too, if it is... though I didn't know whether to save it or not

Xmas2013MN5573 · 23/12/2013 14:04

8871 - thank you. I will go and have a look at my inbox then!

supermariossister · 23/12/2013 14:10

I hope you have your gift A2161 I've been keeping an eye out for you

Xmas2013MN5573 · 23/12/2013 14:24

Hrm. How odd. My rather bossy, official (officious?) advice-giving persona got nominated. Guess she gave someone some good advice. Oh well. It's still been a very up-and-down year and I am most grateful for the warm fuzzies

lia66 · 23/12/2013 15:06

Hi,

I can't name change on my phone but am hoping an envelope and also a box addressed to "the children" made it to mn9702

It's not loads but happy Christmas x

Xmas2013MN3858 · 23/12/2013 16:16

OMG!!!!! Xmas2013SantaA3858

WOW.

SPEECHLESS. (THIS IS RARE!!!!!!!)

Thank you so so much for all in our parcel! I am just THRILLED at my, so very very generous, Amazon voucher (am a bibliophile through and through, so will be WELL spent I promise!) and then was just yet further jaw-dropped to see another wrapped gift for me, AND 3 - THREEXmas Grin - wrapped gifts for my 3dcsXmas Smile

AND....

A box of choccy yummies for each of them AND one (UBER posh!!!) simply beautiful chocolate gift for me too.

I have NO clue who nominated me other than it was apparently for stuff I'd done or helped with, but the vast majority of that - or the 'bigger' things or acts IYKWIM - were in the early part of this year... And which, if honest, makes me feel a bit of a fraudXmas Blush as the latter half of this year I have been so very far FAR more of a (bloody lucky!) recipient of the beauty, and the community, and the sheer humanity and love that really IS MN thanXmas Smile

Thank you so very much to whoever nominated me, and an even bigger thank you to the awesomly kind:

Xmas Smile Xmas2013SantaA3858 Xmas Smile

With love,
Me and mine Xxxx

XmasTwee · 23/12/2013 18:46

Dear Xmas2013SantaA3686,
Thank you so much for your lovely card and gift. I received it this evening and it's lovely.
It's something I can use when out shopping with DD to have a little break with cake and coffee :).
Your card made me smile and was so thoughtful. DP read it to me and was amazed how lovely a stranger can be (he thought mn was some strange cult when he read the name on the envelope :D).
Thank you again for the lovely card, message and the generous gift :).

Xmas2013SantaA8109 · 23/12/2013 19:36

Phew xmas2013MN8109 I'm so sorry it was very nearly late, I've had a poorly dd so had a rush to post office on Saturday. One thing I do need to say is I apologise massively for not putting in a card, when I asked mn for details for you I was told you had been nominated by lots of people and were a very well loved mnetter. I really hope I did the nominees justice and I figured with your voucher you could get something you really like with it having lots of different departments.

I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Best wishes. X

Xmas2013MN8109 · 23/12/2013 20:51

Please don't apologise SantaA8109. I really am thrilled to have been nominated and to receive such a lovely gift. I have been perusing online already. Smile

Hope your DD is feeling better. xxx

Xmas2013MN7844 · 23/12/2013 22:19

Thank you SantaB7844...your parcel arrived today; it is looking mischievously at me from under the tree as we decided to keep it for Christmas day (I hope that is ok?). We are staggering to the end of 2013 having had several difficult years and are so grateful for your kindness.

Postman is impressed by MN as he has delivered a few parcels....and can't believe we don't all know each other!

Xmas2013SantaA2928 · 23/12/2013 23:12

MNa2928
Thank you for posting your update about the decorations.
I'm so glad you liked them- we have made them
For the last 3 years and it's something both children can do together now. I love the thought of you laminating the fairy and am going to pinch the idea!!
Have a truly wonderful Christmas

Xmas2013SantaA8642 · 23/12/2013 23:25

Xmas2013MN8706 · 23/12/2013 23:33

Xmas2013Santa8706

Just wow. I don't know where to begin in my thanks to you. Firstly though, I must apologise for my delay in thanking you. My youngest has been in hospital since last Thursday and I whizzed home for a shower on Saturday evening to see the most ridiculously huge collection of presents by my front door.

I literally plonked the boxes in the sitting room, showered, grabbed bits and went back to the hospital. It wasn't until I came home late last night to do the same that I delved into them and oh my, I am lost for words at your amazing kindness and generosity. And then, THEN I found the tree and assorted bits. Oh my goodness, how I bawled. I put the tree up in DD3's bedroom in record time and said not a word to her when I got back to her bedside.

After much discussion (and persuasion from me), she was discharged late this afternoon - just as the bloody heavens opened of course! Anyway, we got home, I made her wait in the hall so I could turn the lights on, and then told her she could go in. Her little face was the most perfect picture after what has been a rotten 5 days in hospital. She has pleaded for a tree in her room and you have totally made her year. It means so much to me, she (and me, and all of us tbh) have had the most horrendous year and your overwhelming kindness and amazing generosity will make this one very special Christmas.

I genuinely cannot begin to say how grateful I am, but I thank you with all of my heart and I wish you and your family a very, very Happy Christmas.

Just. Just thank you.

Xx
