Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

A8267 I have opened a gift Blush

All day I have been saying 'can anybody else smell a faint smell of lillies?' They are my favourite flower and the scent I could smell was just like when they are beginning to open. All day I have thought I was going to mad.

Picture the scene....on my hands and knees under the Christmas tree sniffing till I felt dizzy. I have opened one of the gifts you sent and found some sweet pea t lights...........I love, love, love candles and am very glad that I have been able to prove to everybody else in the house that I am not barking mad Grin

Have lit one each for my two sons who are sadly no longer with us.

To SantaA4714, I am sorry it has taken me a couple of days to update. I got a card from Royal Mail addressed to the Munster of the House, (which I first read as the munter of the house and thought RM were being a bit rude Shock), which when I collected it today turned out to be indeed the one to the Mumsnetter of the house. The poor postie was obviously a bit confused! But it was lovely to recieve, thank you.

So, I just wanted to say thank you for your thoughtful packages - they are actually perfect size-wise as we have a small house and no space, and the DCs loved them (no chance of the package staying closed till Christmas as both came with me to the sorting office - DS wanted to see if Postman Pat worked there). Your voucher for me is very kind, thank you. I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas Thanks.

Thank you also to the person who nominated me. I have a fair idea why as I only tend to be on one area of the boards. Unfortunately any and all advice I give is borne of experience, and I would heartily wish it were experience no-one had to have. But without MN, I would not see things as clearly as I do, and I have every reason to be profoundly grateful for the support I have received here to help me through a very difficult time.

Just to let my lovely secret Santa know that your parcel has nearly arrived! The postie tried to deliver it yesterday while I was out. I will pick it up on Mon or Tues. Thank you ever so much in advance. I am so, so touched that someone really has sent me a Christmas present. And quite excited already about opening it!

Hello everyone it's me again, the one whose Santa had accidentally included her name on an order form in her gift. Well you might remember that the name happened to be the same as that of a girl who used to save me a seat on the school bus back in the mid 80s.

Well we have been in touch via PM and yes, we DID sit together on the bus every day as kids Smile

Just popping in to say that I am watching and very sorry for the lovely donors who are worried about their parcels going astray. I was in that position once and it is nail-biting, but it usually resolves itself.

As for the people who are concerned that their parcel isn't enough, or adequate, please, please do not think like that. I had a packet of mini snacks from Organix but it was the nomination that counted.

Just to let you know my parcel has arrived and the gifts are wrapped beautifully - the most beautiful under the tree, you have wonderful handwriting, wrapping skills and message on the card, so Thank you very much indeed
After being poorly for nearly 2 weeks, working all weekend I had better get out this house and go shopping or it will be a Christmas dinner of beans on toast
