Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

Have some people been matched with more than one donor? I see my 'recipient' thanking and being acknowledged by someone not me for a present not from me [much nicer than I could afford any way :( ]

Thank you so much to whoever was my Santa, gifts arrived today. Had to wrestle them off DH who reckons he is at least as much of a mumsnetter lurker spying on me as I am. I'm so touched to be nominated and it was lovely to receive some unexpected presents. I will pay it forward next year.

Yes, thegreylady, some people may have been nominated more than once, or MNHQ may have matched several small donors to make up a larger total gift for one person.

Please don't be sad if your present is small. It's such a kind thing that you thought of giving anything at all.

GoldenGytha I think that's the parcel I sent that you've posted below about, I'm your C4220 secret santa so hopefully the label on the parcel had my C number!
I'm delighted it arrived ok, I was so worried it had got lost in the post but am glad that it just took a while to get to you. Bizarrely, you live where my DH is from, and in the actual suburb where my DFil grew up!!

I hope you all enjoy your gifts on Christmas day, there is one there for each of you and also a little something for your furry dc's too

Your box of goodies arrived today thank you, I'm still being mean and saving all presents until Christmas day itself!

Vanilla sugar can be used in any recipe that you would add Vanilla essence to.
I find it most useful for making ice cream (as I don't have to heat the milk for ages to infuse the vanilla, then chill to put in the ice cream maker)
It's also lovely in hot chocolate, cookies, custard, cake etc

If you think you will use it a lot transfer to a bigger jar as it will infuse pretty much any amount and last forever

I'm so glad you were all happy with the bits and pieces its such a stab in the dark to get nice things for strangers.

I think that with this appeal its very much the thought that counts. Being nominated is a big deal and just the fact someone noticed you and your problems or your contribution to others is a very good feeling. Some people are in greater need than other and hopefully MNHQ will recognise that in their allocations.
Everyone's contribution is generous just because they contribute what they can. Everything is appreciated :)

i was nominated and even if it had been a pair of socks id have worn them with pride and thought they where extra special.

it really is the thought that counts, to be nominated is quite amazing in it self, but to recieve a gift from some one who you may not even have spoken to, that theve gone to that much effect of finding something, posting it. it really does make you feel all warm and fuzzy. x

I love the appeal. I love that people get nominated and then a complete stranger takes the time and makes the effort to send them a gift - no matter how small it might be.

But I really, really would like to know who everyone is, not read their anonymous Christmas names! I know this won't happen, obviously, because we all want to keep ourselves and our situations anonymous, but I want to know who you all are!

I don't mind saaying who I am but apparently that's not the "Done thing" [wank]
