Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Merry Christmas!

Aww, thanks Pistey, they are sleeping now and dormant (or frozen solid Xmas Grin ) so I'm sure they're lovely and snug, tucked up in all that lovely honeycomb. Yum!

I had to have my message deleted as I got all confuddled as to which Santa I was, and was about to send some poor MNetter into a Christmas frenzy!! Xmas Grin

How are you lovely Pistey? All good with you? xxx

Thank you SO SO much for your parcel - I collected it from the sorting office yesterday. All I can say is wow, and thank you again.

I'm sure DS will love the two stocking fillers Grin I have tucked them away and will report back on Xmas day. Please say thank you to your DC for choosing them Smile

The chocolate has been stashed away, from small people so that I can enjoy it by myself. selfish

And the vouchers too? I am completely at a loss as to what to spend them on but I think it will be food treats. Or something for DS. Or food treats. Or...

I opened the card on the train and your words made me a little weepy. So kind. And then immediately went onto the website to see what I could plot to spend them on. Am still plotting!

Xmas2013SantaMN7983B

As I was told to, I opened before Xmas Grin. And yet again found myself speechless.

Your gift to me is just GORGEOUS! I honestly love it. It's just so cosy and warm and just lovely. I am at work at the moment and really didn't want to take it off when I got here. I don't think 'it's my present and I love it' would have worked as an explanation as to why I was wearing it at my desk Grin

DS LOVES his gift - you couldn't have chosen better. He is baffled at the concept of Secret Santa from strangers but thinks it is 'a very kind thing to do, can you please say thank you to the strange lady?' Grin

And the voucher . And again, see above about I'm not sure what to spend them on!

to both my Santas

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Life feels a little like wading through treacle, constantly. Your gifts and generosity have made me smile and remember that there is joy to be had.

I wish you both the very happiest of Christmases. I hope you and your families enjoy every moment. I also wish you everything you could hope for in 2014. Please know you really have made a difference, and you've made me and DS very happy indeed.

Lots of Christmas love and joy to you and yours Smile

Thank you to my nominators as well - I'm not sure what I did to deserve it, but thank you too!

Xmas2013SantaA9964

Your parcel just arrived and I hope you dont mind but I opened mine.

Perhaps there is some weird synchronicity in this whole thing because I was astonished to find not only my three favourite types of chocolate but a book and DVD set that are both on my Amazon wishlist. Thank you so much, this has been a pretty rubbish year in many ways but what a lovely note to end the year on. Dont worry I will ensure that I will get time to treat myself with all of your lovely gifts.

DS climbed into the box with glee and shouted 'I asked Santa for a box for a car' and is now happily decorating it with wrapping paper, sellotape and stickers. He has carefully picked out all 'the beautiful ones' of the scraps of Xmas paper that you included and the present label is pride of place at the front. I think he might actually combust with excitement when we open the other present later (his sister is still at school).

I'll come back and update when it has been opened and the squealing has died down.

Thank you so much for your kindness to this stranger this year, may you have the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of new years.

I am your recipient. Am on phone app, so please excuse me using my usual name.

I've just been to collect my parcel from the sorting office. Thank you so much, I've not opened it yet as I'm going to try and save it for Christmas Day Grin

I am very excited by the contents, whatever they are, thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope you have a very merry Christmas and brilliant 2014!

Xmas2013MN5016 · 20/12/2013 14:13

Claire and Saffy You didn't put your Santa code on the parcel but I am assuming you are Xmas2013Santab5016

It arrived today and I collected it from next door.

I love it all!!! How bloody thoughtful of you to include all those different things. The children will love the chocolates, they have moaned about us not having any to hang on the tree this year and have moaned about us not having any candy canes so those were both perfect!

I am off to have a bath this afternoon with some of the smelly stuff that you sent and will be having jam on toast for breakfast tomorrow with your beautiful home made jam!

And finally the vanilla sugar is bloody delicious, I am eating it straight out of the jar at the moment. Is there anything better way to eat it, before my teeth fall out?

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful box of gifts (I've not even mentioned everything you sent here), you have put a massive smile on my face and the children will be delighted when they get home.

And as your lovely handmade card states I definitely will now have a Poncetastic Christmas! Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

Thank you so, so much, love and well wishes for you and yours this Christmas. Thanks Thanks

Xmas2013SantaC6530 · 20/12/2013 14:20

To my dear Xmas2013MN6530 - I have finally, finally, finally wrapped and posted your parcel (posted yesterday with Express 48hrs delivery). I can track it, so I'll keep an eye on it for you and let you know, but you should receive it Monday or Tuesday.

When you get it - open the note at the top first. I realised after I'd already sealed the box up that there were loads more things I wanted to write in the note - how the presents for the kids were really to keep them entertained/distracted so you could enjoy your pressies! But you'll see all that when you get it. Hope it arrives in one piece (hope it arrives full stop), and hope you and your family enjoy the contents, I'll be thinking of you all over Christmas and raising a glass/lighting a candle for you all on Christmas Day.
Warmest wishes. x

Xmas2013MN6531 · 20/12/2013 14:36

Thankyou so, so much dear Xmas2013SantaB6531

I received your parcel this morning and was so touched to see such beautifully wrapped gifts - if you don't mind I have put them under the tree for Christmas day, the dc will be so delighted to have them to open. Thankyou for your thoughtfulness and generosity to a complete stranger, it is more appreciated than I can say.

I wish you a very, very happy Christmas. Xmas Smile Thanks

I will come and say another thankyou when the gifts are opened! Xmas Smile

Xmas2013SantaA9964 · 20/12/2013 15:03

Xmas2013MN9964 I am SOOOOOO pleased... it's always a worry in case you didnt like the things I packed and sent...

You can tell DS that maybe the other present will be useful for his car!!! Wink

Xmas2013MN9964 · 20/12/2013 15:45

Well the parcel has been opened, the squealing has died down and I have come back to thank your DDs for such a wonderful parcel to my DCs. Arts and crafts are one of the few things that they will do at the same time with minimal squabbling so I can already see that our Christmas will be a lot quieter thanks to your gift. DS's face when he tried popping candy for the first time had to be seen to be believed! DD has claimed the book and her Freddo and has disappeared upstairs and DS is using some of your gift on his car. Peace reigns triumphant in this house!

Your DDs were so kind and thoughtful to put together such a comprehensive and entertaining gift, what lovely girls they must be.

Thank you all again x

Xmas2013MN4220

Thankyou so very much for my parcel which arrived this morning, a lovely surprise, as it's my second Mumsnet Secret Santa gift.

I was overwhelmed to get one gift, let alone two, and your kindness is much appreciated, thank you so much Smile

I've put the gifts under the tree, I'm as excited as the DC for Christmas Day!

Thanks Thanks Thanks

Xmas2013MN1135 · 20/12/2013 16:39

To my lovely gift bearer santa1135. You are wonderful! Finally, after the post office refused to give me my parcel as I could not prove I was the mums netter of the house! It finally got redelivered today! I had a sneaky peek a not sure if wrapped inside, but the children won't open until Christmas Day if that's ok? But, ds will love love the jellycat toy and more that that, you have bought DD my most treasured book as a child. I read this book over and over as a child for as long as I can remember, and it's a beautifully presented book. So thank you!

And at the same time, a wonderful gift of Marks and Spencer gift card arrived, must for me! Was that you too? As there is no name on it. Thank you that, it's amazing how much a gift card all to myself can make me feel special! I am going to London for Christmas to spend with family, and I will make account of using this to buy something just for me after the running around I have done.

Merry Christmas santa1135 and it's the first day of Christmas holidays after starting annual leave and kids off school and nursery, so Yey!!!

Xmas2013MN1135 · 20/12/2013 16:45

That should have been to xmas2013A1135 sorry, missed out the A.

Xmas2013SantaA1135 · 20/12/2013 17:17

I'm so glad it arrived finally! I was beginning to get a bit worried as I posted it a fortnight ago. The M&S voucher was not from me, that must be SantaB Grin but there should be a voucher from me for you in the box with the children's gifts.

Have a very Merry Christmas! Xmas Smile

Xmas2013SantaA5702 · 20/12/2013 17:26

Xmas2013MN5702, I am really sorry I have been somewhat disorganised, but your presents are now on the way Xmas Smile You will get a little something in the post direct (wrapped) and there will be a little parcel from Amazon for your DCs - they aren't wrapped, so if you want to have a look first and see if they are suitable, please do. Sorry for the delay, and wishing you a very happy Christmas!

Xmas2013MN1135 · 20/12/2013 18:40

Oh wow do I had two! Thank you again, so very much appreciated and even more so now I know there is a voucher for me too Grin You are very! very kind and generous, It was very funny talking to the post office to re deliver. The post office sorting of office wouldn't let me have it, they said I had to call to arrange redelivery, the automatic service didn't recognise 'mumsnetter' as a surname! got through to a human and had to spell it four times, DH howling with laughter in the background, then, they couldn't deliver til today, they left it inside the porch door this time after all that! Not sure why they didn't just do that in the first place!!!

I shall go and see again if there is a name on the marks and spencer voucher gift card so I can say thank you to that Santa properly.

ToffeeOwnsTheSausage · 20/12/2013 18:50

This thread has me in tears. This morning Text Santa had me in tears. I am a lightweight.

The only thing I don't like is with the numbers I can't see if the person I nominated was chosen and what they got if they were.

In 1978 I received a tea set donated by a kind stranger. I have never forgotten it and wouldn't have had anything otherwise. The following year I got a teddy. I still have him Smile. So Secret Santa has been around for years and is still the amazing thing it ever was. I will be saving so I can give next year. I am so cross with myself I couldn't this year.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

IamtheZombie · 20/12/2013 19:02

Toffee, as Zombie understands it, everyone who is nominated is matched with a donor so your nominee will have received something.

Mbear · 20/12/2013 19:04

I'm so glad you liked! I loved that furry thing when I saw it, and soooooo warm and cosy. I'm glad your ds liked too - how did he know I was strange Grin tell him I said hi!

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and your post has made me go all warm and lovely!

ps I know I should name change but hey ho (ho ho!!)
