Am I a wanker...

... to buy poundland tinsel and trimmings?

I've just ordered the first 24 (of maybe 100 I have planned) baubles and have got quite nicey ones.

Theme wise I'm going traditional coca cola advert red white and gold...

So ramblings aside, would I be a wanker to get as much tinsel (and possibly shiny glittery beads on a string) from poundland??

Should I invest more to make it perfect for DD?

Glittery shit from poundland will be awesome! That's what makes it Christmassy in our house. Go for it. xx

garlicbaguette · 24/09/2013 19:07

What happened to good will & festive cheer, Tess?

See if you can pick some up in Poundland.

But don't use Poundland, since they exploit workfare.

Try the market :)

TessTackle · 24/09/2013 19:08

I'll try to stick to that rule special I didn't know about mid December sales?! Wanted to put the tree up end of Nov though tbh Blush also against the rules, I know lol

Not offensive, just misleading, tess, you got us all to read this thread thinking you were planning some true yuletide wankerish behaviour. You can't be surprised when we pull you up for misleading us when it turns out you are just talking about the price of tinsel.

CatAmongThePigeons · 24/09/2013 19:15

The DCs tree will be full of pound land tinsel and baubles (their request for tinsel)

I remember Christmasses as a child with those shiny decorations that are pinned to the ceiling, it was shiny and fabulous!

TessTackle ive got to say your language and attitude stink and that is probably why you have got the backs of a few other posters up... buy as much sparkly tat as you like. .. not sure it was even a question wortg asking or why you were asking it... if you like it, buy it if you dont... look elsewhere!

TessTackle · 24/09/2013 19:17

Banker I had no attitude until I was snipped at.
Like I said I'm doing this alone for the first time and wanted to make it the best for my DD. I'm aware my language is appalling, as are how many other peoples lol it's not that serious, god,

As a child, I LOVED seeing loads of shiny Christmas decorations. We used to go to my dad's lovely best mate's house (he is sadly now deceased) every year just to see his extravagant decorations. They were I'm sure very cheap as he was on the breadline, and what many adults might deem tacky, but to a child's eyes it was magical. If you think your dd will love it, go for it. Poundland is great for this type of thing. I agree with a pp that charity shops are also a great place to pick up cheap Christmas decorations, if you have time to hunt around.

It will be FINE. My first Christmas with the DC on my own was lovely, because it was stress free, argument free, and we could do it how we liked.

How old is DD? Get her to make decs, that's the best bit really.

TessTackle · 24/09/2013 19:20

She's 3 end of November WorldPeace I have seen some wooden decs on eBay that you can paint/throw glitter at yourself. Think I'll purchase!
