girlywhirly · 06/09/2013 12:46

Spotted Christmas chocolates and puds in Tesco today.

fuzzpig · 06/09/2013 14:26

I borrowed a children's winter crafts book from work today!

Feeling really positive about this Xmas, especially as I am planning to make a few bits and pieces. Last year things were so crazy - DH had major surgery around this time last year, I was finally diagnosed with CFS in November, and the winter was just a huge mess of illness and stress. We've come a long way since then :)

50shadesofknackered · 06/09/2013 19:45

The Tesco near us is now stocking selection boxes and christmas chocolate Grin I may have even bought dc's a chocolate Santa

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2013 20:56

Boxes of mince-pies in Sainsburys Grin
And Febreze festive room sprays.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

(I didn't buy the pies. I'm waiting for the Taste the Difference mini pies)

Or a greggs Cronut

ELR · 06/09/2013 21:10

Ludicrously excited. DC only went back to school.

buzzgirly · 07/09/2013 07:49

It is getting very autumny here. There is definite chill in the air which means December is getting closer!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/09/2013 09:10

Now now buzzgirly much as I love Christmas to me Autumn means the chill in the air, Hallowe'en, Guy Fawkes, winter clothes, my plants turning colour - Dogwood and a Boston Creeper turn red -, the Dr Who series for DS, the shops full of lights and decorations, ..........................................then Christmas and the hope of hearing The Pogues playing in the shops.

My DC live in fear of a busker playing "FairyTale of New York" because I'd join in Blush

buzzgirly · 07/09/2013 13:09

I agree with you 70s, I love autumn. I shouldn't admit this on the Christmas board but its my favourite season excluding December of course.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/09/2013 13:16

Fine to admit it on the Christmas board because Autumn is the lead up to Christmas.
Time to prepare ahead (house, presents, food, Body & Soul) all takes time.

I'm doing the Style and Beauty countdown. My eyes, some of the posters are hard-core-glamorous Envy
But I'm aiming to be a bit lighter, trimmer and maybe do something with my hair.

I am starting to try and get a rough plan of what we want xmas day to look like. The Game Plan has changed as I've confirmed that my parents will be spending the day with us which will be something of a challenge... Started a separate thread so please pop over if you have any handy hints!

BaconAndAvocado · 09/09/2013 18:45

Have just booked Disney on Ice for me and DD as Christmas treat Smile Smile Smile

Not allowed to mention the C word in front of DH until December, he thinks I'm a bit of a mentalist???

Loved the rainy, cooler weather today, it felt soooo autumnal and what with Strictly starting on Saturday, the Christmas tingles are well and truly here!

bacon I'm planning booking Disney on Ice for dd and I as well. DH has decided that he will give it a miss!

I ordered some photo calendars from Groupon so that's some more Christmas presents taken care of.

marssparklesdownonme · 11/09/2013 12:56

Just been in The Range. They were getting all the decorations, crackers and wrapping paper etc out. You could look around some of it but some areas were cordened off , so they could get on with it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/09/2013 14:34

The Range do a good range of Hallowe'en stuff too mars

I love HomeSense (like TKMaxx but just housey things not clothes) and The Range.

I bought a Christmas present for DD - some lippie in a nice case. And I've ordered her some OPI polishes but I'll get in first to remove the Nail Envy (she doesn't use it) Grin

buzzgirly yes I think DH's actual words were "please, god no!"

Going to book Harry Potter Tours for him and DSs.

The Range, ooohhhh!

I do remember taking the wee ones there a few years ago a couple of weeks before Christmas........still having the therapy for that one Smile

Now wee ones are at school, it'll be just me, yippeeeee!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/09/2013 00:07

by Monday we'll be at one hundred Grin

BiddyPop · 13/09/2013 08:52

Ooh, so close to double figures!

We are making progress on DD but very little on others.

Harry potter tours? What are they all about?

fuzzpig · 13/09/2013 15:56

Biddy, it's in London and you can go round the studio, see some of the sets/props etc and also drink butterbeer in the Leaky Cauldron :o DH and DSD went recently and loved it.

I got a very strange look yesterday when I asked an assistant in Hotel Chocolat when their advent calendars would be out Blush
